Good Morning,
I was out walking and enjoying myself the other morning…just taking life nice and easy…when here comes KITTY. She is one of my new Lane’s End Farm friends.
I absolutely love other animals…and on this morning…I was able to spend time with KITTY. I hope she was not concerned that our sizes are so different. I really am very gentle!
I must say, I am quite used to being around cats. At BARN 55, we had 3 of them who were all really a part of our daily lives. They constantly relaxed around the barn and ‘hung out with us on the grass by the trees’ while we were grazing.
This particular cat reminds me so much of home. KITTY is the exact same color as one of MY BARN 55 cats. For 5 years, she was very much a part of my life. Each morning, when they’d wash the saddle pads and set them out in the sun to dry…she would go out to the grass and nap on them. No matter what happened, she’d just relax there, in the sun, and enjoy watching us graze each day! Often, we’d have to graze right around her. She wouldn’t even move…she was so used to us! I think deep down inside, our Barn 55 Kitty always knew we would watch out for her!
Such FUN!
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

So sweet! Thanks for sharing. I just love kitty cats! Glad you have some feline friends :)

An absolutely precious picture. Zenyatta is an incredibly sweet and gentle soul. Just love that about her. The kitty is orange just like my Ozzie. I saw a video once and it showed John petting a barn cat. I think it was black (I also have a black cat). Having other animals around are emotionally comforting to horses I think.

Good evening Zenyatta,
what a sweetheart of a picture & story. I always knew you have gentle heart for others, two & four legged alike. And now we have the proof in the pudding. :) :) :)

As Ann Moss said in the 60 Minutes feature of Z, “She chooses to be gentle.” And then John talking about Z’s kind eyes. All of the wonderful qualities that are Zenyatta. Thnak you Z and Team Zenyatta!

Dear Cynthia H.:
Just visited Z’s Facebook page and found the photo of you, the kitty and Z at Barn 55. Adorable.

I should have known you would love cats, Zenny! Kitty looks a little worried about how BIG you are compared to her! :)

What a loving and wonderful picture!!
JAG: Agree with you re. John, the animal/human status and, of course, re.
Queen Z.

I love that picture, pretty girl! You are too cute! One of the many great things about you is your gentleness, and it certainly shows here. I have a picture of one of my cats kissing your bobblehead. I’d share it if I knew how. (I’m not very computer-savvy.) I love you, Zenny! :-)
@Trina Nagele – I just saw your post from #334. The next time I see Mr. Mallory I’ll be sure to let him know the Z-sters send their greetings and I’ll try to get some good Slew stories from him. I know it will make his day!
@Jane Wade – Thanks for sharing the picture of Zenny and the Moss’ poodles. What an adorable picture!
@Delrene – I saw that same cat at Three Chimneys. She was a big gray cat. I remember I asked our tour guide what her name was and she said Francesca. I even got her picture. Aren’t animals wonderful? I think it’s so cool to see different species interacting.

What a loving and wonderful picture!!
JAG: Agree with you re. John Henry, the animal/human status and, of course, re.
Queen Z. Animals are truly amazing.
BRENDA S: Sorry to hear of your misfortune with the “paw”. So many strange things can happen inadvertently with our animal friends.

Zenyatta,
You are one gentle and curious horse. Great photo.

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small… Zenyatta, you are both wise and wonderful, as well as bright and beautiful! Thanks to Sarah and Dottie, too. All of you are sweethearts! Sweet dreams, Zenny!
@Susan in TN: Thanks so much for the latest on Chopper and dear Chester! I do hope it works out for them. Hugs to all!

Good evening Queen Z, what a precious photo. Thank you Sarah. Ms Kitty doesn’t seem too intimidated you are so gentle why would she.
Hurricanes, fires so many affected by all the diasters. Feel so bad for the owner who lost their 22 horses swept away by Irene. My heart goes out to them.
All Z fans have. A wonderful evening.
Hugs and kisses

For “Z” Friends who would like to pray an Evening Prayer:
…………………………………..
O God, Creator of the world,
And King of heaven, sending light
Most beautiful to clothe the day,
And grace of sleep to come by night.
That so in rest our slackened limbs
Grow strong for work as dawns the day,
And wearied minds be fresh again,
As light drives anxious cares away.
With bounden thanks, with offered vows,
With prayers and hymns our debt we pay,
Beseeching thee to keep us safe
As night draws nigh, as ends the day.

@Barbara Wood: Please stay safe! Thoughts and prayers for you and all Texans — wish you could have gotten some of the large amounts of rain from Lee! Sorry you only got the winds which were bad for the fires. It has rained here quite hard several times today; I will try to work out a plan with the “Powers that Be” to send you some precipation soon! Hugs!
Marshall (girl's name)
Oh my! Make that “precipitation”! I am going to bed! Goodnight All!

Hi Zenny, The picture of you and the Kitty is so cute, just love it. I have kitties also and they play these games with my dogs. Many times I find my wolf dog along with my Pom Dog and my orange tabby cat just hanging out and sometimes sleeping on the portch together. I love seeing different anamils interact, it is just too cute. I use to have a small dog that loved being around horses. These represent happy days to me. Love all your posts Zenyatta and love you very much. have a happy day and will wait for your next post.
Anne from Paramount, CA
Hi Queen Z…ANOTHER great photo! Makes me PURRR just to view it. As was said earlier: TOO CUTE!
@Patricia:thanks so much for your farewell to Loma Linda Ranch. Nicely put!
@JSmith: ditto for your roving reporter TROTT party update. Sounds like-no not sounds like–a good time was definitely had by all!!
@Brenda S: so sorry about your Caracatado! :) Feel better!
@Terry Crow: I will think about what you suggested re J.S. As I said, “forgotten memories” did come back, but I am not a confrontational person (really try to stay out of trouble) so I may need to cogitate/ponder for a while before responding. But thanks for asking for my opinion– it is appreciated, with your background and knowledge. P.S. enjoyed the “service” joke. Plan to pass it along tomorrow at work.
@All who shared cat stories, including our QUEEN, thanks! I, too, like to see barn cats and other such critters.
Delrene
Got a chance to come back and read more posts. The best part is seeing all the names of some brand, spanking new posters to Zenyatta’s website. What a wonderful, diverse, merry group of people. I learn so much and feel as if we were neighbors.
Zenyatta, you and your extended family are making such a huge impact on so many people.
You are beloved by so many.
Probably said it before, but thanks to Dottie and Sarah and all for this wonderful website. It has become a very important part of my day and connection with so many nice folks.
Bless you all.
Delrene
TO Judy – Wow, a special thanks for the Spiletta.com link – great for horselovers and aren’t we all. I would not ever have known about it except through Z’s website and you!

Oh Zenny, how I love your stories. I saw some of your barn kitty friends last April. So very sweet, that you gently allow the kitty to come to you.

Dear Z,
When my sister and I were children we had a beautiful cat that looked very much like your friend in the photo. We called her Pinky. Goodnight and Sweet Baby Dreams. Love you so much, Judy and Russ
Cynthia H.
@Trina Nagele: Thanks so much, Trina.
@judy berube: Thank you, Judy. I am glad that you like the photo, which is actually of Zenyatta, Barn 55 kitty and my Mom. She is going through a difficult time medically right now, so it is comforting to think back on those happy days.

Well, it is 12:30am and ready for bed when TVG had to show a Classic Race from the past about who else. It was Z’s 2009 Clement where she gave everyone a heart attack including Ann Moss in the stands by being so close to the wire. Whew.Z was so trim, sleek and georgous to look at in her racici
Erin
In her racing days. Ann was of course in tears as usual and so was I again. What is it about Zenyatta that still causes such emotion at 1:00 in the morning when I have to get up at 6am?
