Good Morning,
We are really enjoying rather pleasant weather in Lexington these days. My pal, Tasty Temptation, and I were out in our paddock and suddenly we decided we would ‘scratch each other’s back’. As you can see, Mathea was there just at that moment and took the perfect photo of us. I scratched TT’s back…and she sweetly gave me a nice little back rub at the same time. I must say that she and I are really dear friends. We get along beautifully.
I know about TEAMWORK…as I have been part of a TEAM my entire racing career. Thus, I know how truly important it is to work together to achieve goals. It is so nice to have a friend there to help you out when needed.
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Zenyatta, that is a great picture of you and your pal Tasty Temptation scratching each others’ backs. I’ll bet it felt great for both of you. I’m glad you’re enjoying the weather so much. You wrote the book on teamwork. I wish that I could become part of your team physically, but being a part of your team in spirit and in mind will have to do. I love you, girl!

@Kari Bussell. Really enjoyed “Joy to the World” video, as always. Loved how you paired Z drinking her Guiness with the line “always had some might fine wine”.
Have you thought about doing one of your videos to Tina Turner’s Simply the Best?

@Arlene. What a shame about all of the damage, but at least you and your family are safe. That’s the most important thing. I wish I lived closer than GA, I would help in any way I could.

To Ingrid: Thank you..I don’t know how it works out, and that is best! hugs..DJ

@Trina and Susan in TN: thanks for the welcome back! I really missed Z and all her Z’ers.
@Karen Gogue: thank you for the update on Noor. Now he may truly rest in peace as he so deserves.
@Doreen: best of luck to you in your second career effort, and thank you for your service in the Navy. What amazing life choices you have made for yourself.
@Kari B: watched your loving Ruffian video tribute from yesterday’s post. It was beautiful, just like Ruffian. Thank you.
Prayers are never-ending for those who have been in harm’s way. Love you, Zenny.

Hey Z. I don’t know why I didn’t catch that Tasty Temptation is a gray. I LOVE grays.
@Sharon and Sue…Yes, wonderful to see Z (and TT) just being themselves. I don’t know TT’s race history, but we know for a fact that Z has won her retirement (or rather, on to career #2 as MOM).
Take care everybody. @Arlene…hope you get some help cleaning; my thoughts are with you.

Thank you Arlene from Vt. I have friends in Bennington and haven’t been able to reach. I hope they are ok. Vt. really got hit hard. The Vermonters I’ve met are wonderful people and hopefully will all pull together to make something positive about all the devastation. My best to you.
Z and TT? Isn’t it the best to have a best friend? You two look so content.
I’ll bet you don’t need cotton in your ears at all. No more noisy freeway or airport, just the sound of birds in the trees and rustling leaves.
I’m so happy for you.
thanks Dottie for the great post.

I was glad to hear from you today Z!! <3 :)

@Karen Gogue: oh my gosh, I got goosebumps (and teary) over your Noor story. He captured my heart ever since I heard about him on this site. I wish I could be there as he arrives at his final resting place. God bless Charlotte Farmer and all who contributed to this homecoming for Noor.

@ARLENE— THANK YOU for going to the library to let us know you are OK! We are all so glad to hear that you are OK , and so sorry that your house was flooded and cars totaled. At least your house is still there, and you are not hurt, thank God! I hope the clean up is not too overwhelming.
@Eveline—Thanks for the link to the great story on female jockey Tammi
Piermarini celebrating her 2,000th win. Hoof ray, Tammi!
@Kari Bussell—Lovely post! And thanks for letting us know about the e-mail and fb service interruptions. Wishing you all the best, as always.

Flash Noor – Zenny!
The Prince has been laid to sleep in his new forever home as of 2:27 pm PST…The headstone is in place and he has been covered – included in his burial ground are memorable items from Charlotte and from others who loved Noor….one such item, a Red Rose from Charlotte and Kathy Kimber wrapped in ribbons of the Howard and Loma Rica Ranch colors…a handful of dirt was gently tossed in by Charlotte with a silent prayer for her long time friend….tomorrow will be the final day of respect with a formal burial ceremony, with a bugle echoing the sound of the call to the post… taps will softly be echoing off in the distance……..ROLL OUT THE BARREL!! Michael has wheeled out a Beer Wagon for everybody to celebrate this historic and final journey of this magnificent champion!…. Maybe something ‘harder’ will be offered and advised – This reporter of the epic journey is going to!….STOP! …. Day is done…..STOP!
Brenda S..
My daughter has just phoned to let me know that Noor was re-buried at approx. 5.25 EDT. I am somewhat confused because I thought that the ceremony would be tomorrow but still relieved that he is home.
Karen Gogue
Thank you again Zenny for the use of your beautiful site for Noor – your ‘brother’ in spirit, as they all are….I know you cared….

Zenny, TT and Dottie: What ADORABLE photos of you, big girl, and thank you so much Dottie for sharing them with us. I can see that those ears are the outward sign of a true RADAR O’REILLY!!! And I think your message to us today is just perfect.
@ ARLENE: We watched with horror as video emerged of historic covered bridges being swept away, of houses half-submerged and of trees and front streets in so many small Vermont towns laid waste. All of our American cousins have best friends here in Canada. but in my family, VERMONT holds a special place. My ancestors lived and died in Vermont and so my family has always regarded Vermont as its second home. So please know that my thoughts are with you, Arlene, and my prayers as well. It must be so hard to deal with this kind of personal loss. But you certainly have a caring & loving community right here! Right, Zenny? (Her ears are twitching Yes! Yes!)
@ Karen G. THIS IS JUST SO EXCITING!!! I really appreciate feeling a small part of Noor’s journey and thank you so much for sharing the latest news flashes. So thrilled for Charlotte. She so deserves to be “mobbed” by the press!
Reminds me of something very beautiful that was said at our recently departed Jack Layton’s funeral. He told his son, “Have a dream that’s longer than a lifetime.”
It seems to me that many here have dreams that are longer than a lifetime….Charlotte with her Noor, our wonderful classroom teachers, Kari with her testimonials of music & love and, of course, those of us who love our Zenny and what she embodies for us. Grace, courage, kindness, a generous and loving spirit.
Love & hugs to all….

What a great moment captured between two
Lovely mares. Horses are such wonderful creatures.
I bet Mario is happy you have found a “back scratching
Friend”. It will be so fun to see you both with your
Foals in the Spring. Glad you had a relaxing day.
