Good Morning,
Yesterday was an especially FUN and REWARDING DAY for ME! I was able to relax, graze, and reconnect with dear friends.
As many of you may know, one charity I have consistently worked to help throughout ALL of my career is OLD FRIENDS. This organization which is based out of Kentucky (and now has a branch, The Frankel Division, in New York by Saratoga) works to enable “OLD” racehorses….no matter what their ages….to live their lives with joy, purpose, and dignity.
Michael Blowen is the founder of OLD FRIENDS. Yesterday, he came out to visit with ME and update ME on the progress, accomplishments, and goals we are meeting….and how I have helped in this quest.
A dear friend of Michael’s, for many years…since he was a writer for the Boston Globe….came along for the visit. I think she was truly as excited to MEET ME as I was to be introduced to her! Her name is Angie Dickinson. Angie has spent her life in the entertainment industry and met so many amazing people…but, I must say, I think she really did GET A KICK out of meeting ME! Every time she touched ME…she giggled. Now this is TOO CUTE!
Additionally, Angie has also done a great deal on so many levels to support OLD FRIENDS.
I truly believe it is FABULOUS that my dear retired racehorse pals have so many wonderful people from so many different walks of life who constantly do SO MUCH behind the scenes to help. For Angie, Michael and myself….it is a gesture guided by passion and love for the HORSE. We are extremely grateful for all of the generosity and LOVE people show to our dear ‘retired’ racehorse friends.
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Great meeting you Angie!)

Dearest Sweet “Z” and little “z,”
What a sweet picture..’Tickle Tickle!’ I love it! Have a beautiful day.

Zenny, you are such a good girl, so many horses on the backside need help, they are over raced and not treated as well as you were, some are stallled and never taken out except to race and then claimed to only be shipped over the border from Finger Lakes or so many other tracks up north. It is so very sad. Some training outfits only race for the money and individuals have to fight to rescue these horses, I am trying to help one of them now, Pray for us Zenny to be able to help make a difference in this Baby Boys Life. I have the courage and strength because of you and all that you represent and all that you give and continue to do x0x0x0

Dearest Queen,
What a wonderful little get-together for all of you and for such a worthy cause! Z, thank you for all the charitable work that you do. The generosity of your heart never ceases to amaze me.
And you and Angie have much in common. You’re both Queen’s of your trades.
Happy Wednesday!
Love,
Stel

Super! So many inspiring people out there. Sometimes we forget how many good people there are when the news is full of the bad ones. I’m off to do something good right now.

Dear Z – you are one lucky girl to be blessed with these visitors! And you are so generous with your support of Old Friends!! We visited them this past April and Michael is such a good hearted man. By the way, little Silver Charm has pin-upt of you in his outdoor shed – TOO CUTE! He said he would have gladly stood on a ladder for you instead of Bernie!
So nice to be seeing current pics of you – loved the rainbow yesterday. Have a great day…..

Stephanie, if you need help, go to, RIP Deputy Broad, on facebook.

We need more like old friends as many horses are sent to slaughter right from the track. This is disdusting to me. After giving all that they have for us they are sent to to be killed and eaten! I’m sorry but this is unbelievable.
Lorri
Wow Momma Z! You got to meet “The” Angie Dickinson? That is so awesome! I am so glad that things are coming along well with Old Friends! I know there are alot of horses in need of being taken care of after racing and alot of them aren’t. Old Friends & Zenny make a great team for that effort! BTW, Lookin Good Momma Z!!!xoxo
Jamie

Old friends has a cementary for hall of fame racehorses. The great racehorse Noor’s remains will be moved from Calif. to Old Friends soon. Your John rode Noor when he was retired. Noor was as handsome as you are beautiful
LauraJ
@JAG, rats! I was hoping she’d go in the Pacific Classic.

Angie was as much a superstar in her day as you are in yours!!!
Christine Coleman
Hi Zenny Coleman! You’re looking great! It’s a good thing you really ARE a
“Moss” cuz looking at my wallet lately, I couldn’t afford to keep you in the manner in which you have become accustomed! LOL Anyway, your poor fellow equine “Colemans” give you their love and so do I! Love ya big girl!

I think if more celebrities would get involved there would be much more interest in saving our old friends. Does Nick Cage really have his horse in his garage? If so, yeah Nick. If i had a horse i would probably keep it in the house or at least close to me. We need more animal advocates.
you look beautiful gorgeous Zenyatta.
Love , hugs and kisses
Dawn Deems
Oh, I am so jealous! I want to meet you too.
I love Old Friends. We visited there in May and can’t wait to go back.
Hugs and kisses from Ohio. XOXOXO

Zenny – I enjoyed my visit to Old Friends at Cabin Creek (The Bobby Frankel Division) last Saturday. I can’t wait to visit the one in Stillwater, NY, when it’s up and running. With 150 stalls, the capacity is there for a lot of horses to live out their lives in dignity. It’s great to give back to those who have given so much on the track. Enjoy your day with your friend Tasty Temptation.
Thank you, Angie, for your support of Old Friends. I’d probably giggle too if I had the chance to touch Zenny.
