Happy Monday to All!
I truly hope you had a wonderful weekend and really enjoyed yourselves and all of the competitive racing that took place around the country. I sure did….so much so I thought I’d DANCE for a bit! I must admit, that this is just part of my nature…to DANCE whenever I feel terrific! I love doing the “ZENYATTA”.
I’d also like to congratulate all of the winners who ran from coast to coast over the weekend. It makes for such FUN when the racing is as exciting as it has been lately.
I’d especially like to congratulate my owners on SISTER MOON’S maiden victory yesterday at Del Mar. She is a two year old filly by Dixie Union who was making her very first start. She is a homebred for their racing program…which really makes it all so special and so rewarding! Not only did she win quite impressively by over 9 lengths…she also set a new track record for Del Mar at the 5 1/2 furlong distance: 102.70. WOW! She is certainly one very “QUICK MISS”.
Track records for a specific distance are noted at the top of the page in the program and Daily Racing Form every time a particular race is carded at that distance. They reflect the BEST TIME that distance has ever been run…ever…at that race track!
I am elated to say, I also hold a track record time at Del Mar. Mine is for the 1 1/16 distance on the main track of 1:41.48. I believe I was definitely one very “QUICK MISS” as well! (Blush, Blush!)
All of this news….makes ME want to DANCE!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~(Yeah, Sister Moon!)

My sweet Queen Zenyatta I cant tell you how happy I was to see your picture today and see you dancing the Zenyatta. When I see that you dance, I know that you are happy. Tears came to my eyes to see that you still have the dance in your heart and sole. The dance was always so much a part of you and I see that every day that I think of you. I cant tell you how much I miss you out at the track and your presense at barn 55. When I wake up to a beautiful day I always wish that you were there at barn 55. It did’nt matter if you were not racing but just knowing you were there with all the team that loves you so much. I know that you are adjusting well where you are at Lanes End but for this Fan , it is so far away. You are our California Girl and it is hard to see things differently. Wishing you much happiness Zenny and do your dance often, I just love it and I love you.

@all
I just finished reading the very brief sidenote in an article about Kimmiev(Kimmy) being euthanized because of a broken cannon bone. I was brought to horseracing because of Zenyatta, which means I am a complete novice, so I need to understand why I read about horses “breaking down”. Why are the horses run if they are at risk of being hurt? Are horses who have a history of fragilness allowed to breed? Does the industry regulate that kind of thing? I’m becomming afraid to watch racing because it would be so painful to see something like that happen. Please help me understand this…
Thank you
Terry Crow
@Susan in TN and Marshall-When the Statler Brothers were out here with Johnny Cash they were actually working for him. They wrote a song entitled When We Were Paid By Cash about the experience.@quarterhossgal-I am curious. How did you priest like the Pope joke. It is not often I have a chance for a joke to be reviewed by an expert on the subject.

@Suzanne G—THANKS so much for the Sting—Sister Moon link and lyrics!
@JAG—Thanks for the link on the darling orphan donkey Skeeter living the life of Riley with Bubba Earl—too cute! Drinking his bottle with his head on the bed pillows! Going boating with his life preserver around his neck! And talk about EARS! Too, too cute.
@LouAnn Cingel—Glad to see your post. Continuing prayers for you.
@Brenda S—-Thank you for your engaging post about your experiences at Saratoga and the power of Z and Diana S’s Z-tags!
@Judy Berube—Thanks for the link to the grooving Mucho Macho Man.
Re Kimmyv—-Sharon in Seattle correctly posted that in the Emerald Distaff the defending champion Kimmyv broke down before the finish line at the same time as Hard Way Ten, a daughter of Rock Hard Ten, was winning the race. It was reported on TVG and online that Kimmyv suffered a compound fracture of the left front cannon bone and was euthanized. RIP Kimmyv and condolences to her connections.. http://www.emeralddowns.com/?cat=6&id=2561&type=news

@Sister Moon: Wowee young lady! Your race took my breath away. All the while I was thinking, “Is she the one? Is she going to enthrall us like Zenyatta did?” Stay safe little girl. You don’t know it, but you have a legion of human aunties and uncles who will be hovering and fussing at your every move!

@Patricia: It does hurt when one of these beautiful horses breakdown, get injured and never run again, and more..After Ruffian, I did not watch races for a long, long time. I can still see a 2 year old we hardly knew, Rough Sailing, and it still hurts me when I think about it…Lisa g.

@All——The crossroads was a choice between more radical surgery & pump more poison into my system..The small amount of time they said that would buy me isn’t even enough time to recover…so I opted to NOT…my mountain is to make it see Zenyatta’s foal…I have beaten the odds for over three years….I would set new goals with each race she ran…when she returned for 2010 I KNEW I would survive to see it!…
ON a much lighter note…Susan in Tn ask a question I think everyone here will find great JOY in my answer…This is for all but most especially those in the SEC…close to my neck of the woods. This is very deeply felt. Straight from my heart to you…This promises to bring JOY..!

Hey Z I just had a thought. You might want to open your own dance studio. I would love to see a recital! This from an area where there are at least 10 dance studios in a small 5 sq mile area.
I can guarantee yours would be the one every one would flock to.
Love you big girl.
Love, hugs and kisses
Rachel
Would recognize the “Zenyatta Strut” anywhere. Stay happy and healthy.

This picture of you, Zenyatta, made me homesick for one of your dances. So, visited YouTube for a few of your performances. I wonder if your foal will have your whimsical personality. Sure hope so. Have a great day, Zeny.
