Hello,
Today is such a great day…and a time for gratitude and celebration! This statement leads to the fact that there are 2 things about ME I’d like to share with you that perhaps you may not already know!
First of all, I absolutely love the element of SURPRISE! Upon reflection, I think this was a consideration with my ‘come from behind strategy’ when I was racing. This style does add a ‘tremendous amount of surprise’ and excitement to a race.
Secondly, and this is very important, I LOVE A GOOD PARTY! I have actually hosted and attended many of them while I was at BARN 55! (We were truly such a FUN GROUP!) MY JOHN always knew that I wanted to be a part of everything that was going on…so I actually became quite an endearing hostess!
Well, recently, I was able to do both of these things and it felt TERRIFIC! Pam Harper’s parents were celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The family was already hosting a lovely party for them…but gave great thought to what would be the PERFECT gift to honor this celebration. The family wanted something special, meaningful, and especially memorable for them!
Lo and behold, guess what? IT WAS ME! Pam and her family bought a ZENYATTA BRONZE for their parents’ special 50th Anniversary present. This is absolutely TOO CUTE!
Not only did I get to surprise them, per Pam, but the entire atmosphere of the party was filled with great fun and lots of memories and emotion. From the moment I was removed from the gift box, I was able to spend the entire evening with the HONOREES. They literally carried ME around during the party. I went from table to table with them visiting with all of their guests. They shared their thoughts, experiences, and memories of ME with all of their dear friends. It was truly a very special evening!
Pam commented that after quite some time, she literally had to take ME from her Mom’s arms. Her Mom would not let me go! I’ve heard everyone had a GREAT time at the party…especially ME! THANK YOU for including ME!
How FORTUNATE am I! I am deeply honored to be thought of as the “PERFECT GIFT” for such a memorable occasion for such charming people. I am truly BLESSED!
Have a fabulous day! Here’s to enjoying some ‘fun’ surprises in your life!
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY!)

Goodnight. Hugs back, J.B.

@Sue Frederick. Thanks for letting me know about Indy’s facebook page. I was sad when I heard he was pensioned, but I believe he is living a very good life and I think they will take good care of him. I’m glad he’s getting to stay in his same stall. I hope to get back to see him again. I have a question to ask maybe you or someone knows the answer.
@Anyone who knows…I’m sorry I believe that something similar to this has been asked before, but I have forgotten.
Would Bernardini and Mineshaft be called Half Brothers? As they have the same sire…..Anyone Know?
Peggy (N)
@Judy Berube, Thank you oh so much for that video it was just great, I had went back up almost missed your post. So glad I saw it. Just love that boy. Hugs Peggy

Dear Peggy (N):
You’re welcome. On your question, I think they’re only considered half-brothers or half sisters if they have the same Dam (like Z and E), otherwise if it’s just the same Sire than that’s how they’re referred to, same Sire. I’ll see if I can find a link about it. Hugs, J.B.

Zenny – these pictures capture the love, the pride, and the joy that all your fans feel for you when we gaze upon you or your likeness. You are a precious gift to us all. Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary to Pam Harper’s parents and a belated Happy Birthday to Mario, who took such good care of you. The pictures that I’ve seen of you and Mario show the deep connection/bond that you had with one another. That bond still remains and is very evident when you are with him. Distance is the only thing that separates the both of you. How truly blessed one is, to have a connection such as that. I also want to wish Morning Line a speedy and full recovery. Both of his knees required surgery, which was performed on him yesterday. Can’t wait for his return next year: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/64577/morning-line-has-surgery-return-expected

Dearest Z, This was such a wonderful diary entry. I remember Georgia Harper’s contest submission—it centered around YOU and the Harpers’ wedding anniversary the year before this: “As a gift for our wedding anniversary last August, I received an email at work from my hubby with an itinerary attached for San Diego saying ‘Tickets for my queen to go see the Queen.’ We … had a wonderful day at Del Mar, never leaving the paddock and visiting with so many young people who had been there to see only you ….” Zenny, what’s so CUTE in relation to today’s entry is how it continues: “I’m not sure what we will do for our 50th this year…” Happy Golden AND BRONZE Anniversary to Georgia and her hubby! Thanks for sharing the darling pictures of the Great Surprise.
@Cynthia H, re: Your Ode —Wow, you’ve switched from the dirt track to the turf with superb turn of foot and not missing a beat! You’re a truly VERSE-atile champion headed straight to the winner’s circle!
@Bonnie—You can see four close-ups of the marvelous Zenyatta bronze on Nina Kaiser’s website “Zenyatta: Horse of Our Lifetime.” http://www.equinesculpture.com/limited-edition-zenyatta-bronze-statue.htm
@Marshall (girl’s name)—Don’t worry about the double post—we’ve all been there and done that (or will be there and do that).

@Judy Berube, thank you so much for the link to Indy’s Hall of Fame page. I love so many horses running now, Uncle Mo, Gio, Blind Luck, Stay Thirsty, Shackelford, etc. but Zenny and AP Indy will always have my heart.

Ms Zenyatta, good morning, beautiful. Have a wonderful day, my two favorite ladies..o, that was a slip. I love you, Lisa g.
Brenda S..
@ Judy B – Thanks for the link to Barbara L’s photos, I loved the one of Shackleford rolling. I can’t wait for Saturday when I can see it for myself.
@ Sue F – I, too, am very fond of AP and he was such a delight to see. He was the last stallion brought out to meet visitors, posed nicely for pictures and enjoyed his peppermints. I must confess though that my first love is still Secretariat.
@ Gary M – I’m waiting anxiously to see your picks for Saratoga on Saturday and Sunday.
Zenny, have a peaceful day in your paddock and enjoy that grass. I wonder if it’s too soon to feel little tickles in your tummy. Hugs and Kisses to you and the little one.

@JB: Thanks for the link on the Girl Power of this year, Blind Luck and Grace, what to do? I like them both, they are a 1-2 Box for me.

Good morning, Z! I’m enjoying all over Georgia Harper’s 50th anniversary. The pictures made us feel as if we were there.
@judy berube–thanks so much for the Barbara Livingston link. I admit I have a crush on Shackleford.

Good morning Zetty,
imagine a horse on every corner, whee-hee, whee-hee, imagine all those gorgeous horse apples, for private or community gardens that would be a dream. Imagine cropps grown with genuine ‘Zenyatta apples’, wow, could put a little print of Zenyatta picture on the produce label. We’ll have to think of a catchy phrase. But anyway horses are a good thing. :) :) :)
Have a great day and I leave you to ponder this:

Hello Pretty Girl!
I so wish I too had a bronze statue of you! Hope you are taking good care..eating lots and keeping hydrated! I’d like to see a new pic of your baby bump soon! I love you Zenyatta!

ZENNY: What a lovely & heart-warming story. And I just LOVED the bit about how you love to “partee” — and I can just see you mingling at Barn 55 bashes! Please tell Mario that once I post the article of Will Harbut & Man O’ War on THE VAULT, he & Zenny are next up at bat! The Harbut piece isn’t posted yet because I’m waiting on a new research text from Kentucky that still hasn’t arrived! It has taken me 5 years to piece together fragments of Will’s & Big Red’s story because at that time, the people who cared for horses and were their very best friends were seldom written about. Even their names are missing! But with you & Mario, I hope to have an easier task, thanks to the numbers of photos of the two of you and stories like those shared recently by the Kennedys!
I love you my sweet girl. Have a wonderful day @ Lane’s End! Love & hugs to all +++++
Robin S
Happy Belated Birthday Mario! I hope your day was really special!
Zenny: I gave your bronze as a surprise to my husband this year for our 10th anniversary. He had the same reaction…tears of joy. Love you and have a relaxing day!
Have a peaceful day everyone!
