Happy Friday,
Today is a very memorable day in our industry. The CLASS of 2011 is being inducted into the Hall of Fame which is located at the National Museum of Racing in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The induction ceremonies will be shown this morning on HRTV. They are taking place at 10:30 Eastern Time in the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion. Bobby Flay is hosting the presentation along with broadcaster, Randy Moss. The festivities are open to the public.
Congratulations to all of the 2011 inductees:
Jerry Hollendorfer and Matthew Byrnes, Trainers
Shelby “Pike” Barnes, a Jockey who starred in the 1880’s
Duke of Magenta, Open Mind, Safely Kept, and Sky Beauty, Horses
Sarah was so sweet and took some other photos for us to share of the Museum. I hope you enjoy them.
I wanted to show you ROBERT FRANKEL’S plaque on the wall…as Dottie actually wrote the script for it for Bobby.
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy all of the fabulous racing taking place around the country during the next few days and HAVE FUN!
Perhaps we’ll see some future Hall of Famers in action and running this weekend! HOOVES CROSSED!
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (Congratulations to HOF Class of 2011)

Really neat that YOUR Dottie wrote the words for the plaque of Bobby Frankel! “TOO CUTE!” to quote you dear Zenyatta. School starts soon for me, which means I’ll have less time to read your uplifting posts, sadly :(. Oh well. I can’t wait for the Arlington Million and all of the other racing action this weekend!Love,
— @EVERYONE: Hugs and warm wishes to all who need them!

Z—-thank you and Dottie for sending these pictures. We’re looking forward to see YOU in there at the earliest possible time.
Abigail in Montreal–thanks for the links to the 3 mares. So sad to see that 2 of the 3 died young. RIP, lovely ladies.
@Terry Crow–don’t even think of giving up your “job” as Jokester Laureate.

Dottie, speaking of Hall of Famers, can you tell me someone that I can contact to see if we can bring Omaha back to Kentucky or at least locate his bones? Thank you for the pictures. Stay healthy, Zenyatta.

@Donna and JB, thanks for rules, I thought it was a little over 4 years before Ms Zenyatta steps right in.

@Kari Bussell-Happy Birthday! So many of my friends were introduced to Zenyatta thru your videos! When I think of Zenyatta, I think of you as well.

@ Kari B – HAPPY BIRTHDAY. @ Trina N – two awesome poems, now we need a computer lesson on how to print them out! @ Susan in TN – Don’t ever doubt your decisions, even if it is difficult, believe in yourself ! Maybe you can go to the rescue in the late evening when it cools down a bit, just sit and listen to the crickets and frogs and tell your troubles to the horses whenever they walk up. They will enjoy that as much as you will. @ everyone – Thanks for all the great links and jokes !

@Kimberly and LisaG. On diary 308, the picture was of Ebby and Star Billing being transported to Del Mar. That was on July 29, so Lisa, that probably was Ebby that you saw. She seems to hold herself so much like Z – head up, ears forward, interested in everything. I hope you get to see her again. If you get close enough, give her a kiss on the nose for me.

Maureen Burke
@Lisa G – Mo is pointed to the Kings Bishop while Coil is likely to run in the Travers. The Kings Bishop is a shorter race and a better choice for Mo to “return” to the track after his illness and time off. Go Mo!

Zenny, you are a shoe in for the Hall of Fame, no pun intended! Thanks to Sarah for more great pictures.

Zenny, one day we will see your name on a plaque as you are inducted into the Hall of Fame. Sarah took great pictures again…how lucky we are to have all of you educating us on the horseracing industry. Dottie is very special…she helps you “talk” to us and she wrote the inscription on Bobby’s plaque. I’m sending her a high hoof for all she does and continues to do for the fans and the public.
