Happy Friday,
Today is a very memorable day in our industry. The CLASS of 2011 is being inducted into the Hall of Fame which is located at the National Museum of Racing in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The induction ceremonies will be shown this morning on HRTV. They are taking place at 10:30 Eastern Time in the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion. Bobby Flay is hosting the presentation along with broadcaster, Randy Moss. The festivities are open to the public.
Congratulations to all of the 2011 inductees:
Jerry Hollendorfer and Matthew Byrnes, Trainers
Shelby “Pike” Barnes, a Jockey who starred in the 1880’s
Duke of Magenta, Open Mind, Safely Kept, and Sky Beauty, Horses
Sarah was so sweet and took some other photos for us to share of the Museum. I hope you enjoy them.
I wanted to show you ROBERT FRANKEL’S plaque on the wall…as Dottie actually wrote the script for it for Bobby.
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy all of the fabulous racing taking place around the country during the next few days and HAVE FUN!
Perhaps we’ll see some future Hall of Famers in action and running this weekend! HOOVES CROSSED!
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (Congratulations to HOF Class of 2011)

Gary Moulton, u owe me $6.! Just kidding. I played your Del Mar baby play on Sunday, and was expecting to add at least 60 days of 50cents to my Breeders Cup 2012 jar. Now it’s 12 days behind. Maybe I should do some work instead!

HOLY SMOKES! What is going on here? I’ve been away a few days and WWIII erupted on this site, this site that is a HEAVEN FOR HORSE LOVERS! Were it not for Dottie, we would not have this window into the world of the greatest mare who ever lived! We learn of visits to her, her food favorites, her experiences, her fun in the paddock, her friends, etc. What more do you want: her bowel habits? I don’t wish to be crude, but Dottie gives us info that is just right, and the rest of the time all of us here who adore horses meet and share info on horse-related topics, races, specific horses, lineage, sidebar stories. Add to that Dottie’s LESSONS IN THOROUGHBRED RACING! This has been and is a classroom to me, and I think others feel the same. I am learning about a sport I love and animals I adore by reading all of Zenny’s diary messages. WERE IT NOT FOR DOTTIE, WOULD WE HAVE SUCH ACCESS? No, we would not. Zenny’s Diary has inspired other horses to come onto Facebook to share their own stories, and they, too, enrich all of us who come to this very special site to be in touch with the heart and soul of racing. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS PAGE! DOTTIE DESERVES AWARDS FOR IT. her efforts are constantly enhanced and supported by so many other posters here who add golden information. And to say that Z’s site will be forgotten, that Z will be forgotten–NONSENSE!!!! Years ago, there was no such thing as Facebook and email and the web, so horses we still love like Seabiscuit and the Admiral and Whirlaway and Secretariat–there was no way to reach out to their fans continually by personal intercommunication. Well, we have that technology now, and our beloved Zenyatta will always have her site–ALWAYS. So will all th other horses who have memorial sites on FB and the web. Zenny’s foal will bring another chapter in the great Zenyatta and Team Z story. As long as we have Dottie, we have Zenyatta. What a gift!!!! REMEMBER: ZENYATTA WON THE FIRST EVER SECRETARIAT AWARD. SHE IS CONSIDERED HIS EQUAL IN HORSEDOM. Neither will ever be forgotten. So if you don’t like coming here and finding out about general horse topics, rescue stories, anecdotes, lovely prayers to soothe our day (and DJ selected a superb one today to restore peace and serenity to this site), great words and acts of friendship among horse people, well, you are at a banquet and are calling it a diner, so maybe this precious site is really not a place for you. You don’t realize how INSPIRED we are by Zenny–each and every day! You don’t realize how many of us have come together to help fight horse abuse and slaughter WHICH IS VERY MUCH A PART OF TODAY’S HORSE WORLD. You don’t realize the amazing friendships this Diary has fostered, how our shared love for this unbelievable horse gives us the energy to do good things in her name, to honor her and her brothers and sisters. And people, if that is not good enough for you, don’t slam the door on your way out. Thank you for all you do, but you are leaving a sacred gathering place behind you. Together, we can do more. That is what keeps me here because I know I am among kindred spirits who all want the same things: continued health and happiness for Zenny, Team Z, and the improved welfare of ALL horses.
KIM POTTER: praying hard for your family
SIGNOFTHETIMES: I’ve never directed a message specifically for you, and I am way overdue in sending one. Your posts are wonderful and I thank you for being a great teacher here.

Thank you for showing us the Hall of Fame, I sure hope it is possible for me to visit it one day. And I have a feeling come 4 years time, we will be seeing you be inducted to that Hall of Fame too Zenyatta!
Paul
Zenyatta, I trust that you saw the Hall of Fame on Friday morning. You’re doing better than I am. I have been hearing about it on TVG, but I didn’t pay close attention to exactly when it would be televised and the names of people and horses entering the Hall of Fame did not sound familiar to me. However, that doesn’t hurt my enthusiasm or dampen my interest in it. I will simply have to study up on it. When I first started watching TVG, I knew close to nothing about horses or horseracing at all. I kept the TV on that channel, watched it for long periods of time, paid close attention to the races, names of horses, jockeys, odds, owners, trainers, even sires and dams as well as what announcers are saying. I have learned what different terms mean over a period of time and I am still doing all that. I always will until the day I die as long as I have access to TVG and if I ever get access to HRTV, which my cable system in my community does not currently carry. You, Mike Smith, John Shirreffs, Jerry Moss, and many of your buddies as well as their jockeys, trainers, and owners will end up in the Hall of Fame one day-give it time.
