Happy Friday,
Today is a very memorable day in our industry. The CLASS of 2011 is being inducted into the Hall of Fame which is located at the National Museum of Racing in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The induction ceremonies will be shown this morning on HRTV. They are taking place at 10:30 Eastern Time in the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion. Bobby Flay is hosting the presentation along with broadcaster, Randy Moss. The festivities are open to the public.
Congratulations to all of the 2011 inductees:
Jerry Hollendorfer and Matthew Byrnes, Trainers
Shelby “Pike” Barnes, a Jockey who starred in the 1880’s
Duke of Magenta, Open Mind, Safely Kept, and Sky Beauty, Horses
Sarah was so sweet and took some other photos for us to share of the Museum. I hope you enjoy them.
I wanted to show you ROBERT FRANKEL’S plaque on the wall…as Dottie actually wrote the script for it for Bobby.
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy all of the fabulous racing taking place around the country during the next few days and HAVE FUN!
Perhaps we’ll see some future Hall of Famers in action and running this weekend! HOOVES CROSSED!
With Love,
Hugs to All~ (Congratulations to HOF Class of 2011)

@Kathy Kimber—–I read your post and I VERYmuch understood what I was reading. You had no business saying what you did to Barbara Wood, it was just plain RUDE!
And since you made the comment that Zen is not getting the care she had at Barn 55, I would suggest that you go to Lanes End, pitch your tent & see for yourself what kind of care she is getting.
Your statement was definitely “slamming”
Lanes End, what an insult to a great farm
whose people are giving Zen the very best of care! You need to stop your whining, I think most people find it annoying, I know I do.
Kathy Kimber
Lil: No there was no slamming anywhere I was expressing concern. Now if you’d like to take me on off site we can do that. There was no rudeness. I stated that no feelings were intended to be hurt. I have posted my e-mail many times on this site go look for it or contact Karen Grogue for it. Just be real sure you want to take me on.
Lil from KY
Dear Zenny, Please excuse these whiny people on this site. apparently they ARE THINKING OF “THEMSELVES” and not of you.Sweet darling girl, I am so happy for you and proud of you, you lovely mama to be. It will be great to see you in your pasture with little Zen, can’t wait,he or she will be terrific looking just like you. The weather is great now, so you may be out kicking up your heels again & having such fun.
Max
@The Kennedys in San Diego. Your most recent post about Zenyatta was really fabulous. She is truly a great mare and Mario is a great person. I think that my most favorite gem is still the one about her power snoozes before her races.

Dear Max:
Sounds like a very responsible trainer. Good for her. Hugs, J.B.

Lil from KY: Didn’t think you would

Dear Signofthetimes, Max and Z Fans:
If you get a chance, click on the link I left of Saratoga’s replays. Click on Saratoga, Date 13, Rac 11. I think you will get quite a laugh out of Tom D’s call. Hugs, J.B.

Here’s a real nice filly winning her maiden: My Miss Aurelia, a daughter of Smart Strike (Curlin’s sire) and a great grandaughter of my beloved Terlingua, through her son, Storm Cat: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/64539/luck-smiles-on-my-miss-aurelia-in-adirondack
@ signofthetimes: Thanks so much for the sweet comment about my future post on thoroughbreds & their best friends. It will kick off with Will Harbut & Man O’ War. Given the historical context (and up until pretty recent recent times) the men who formed close ties with thoroughbreds and who kept them happy in themselves were forgotten by history. You would just NOT believe the research (5 years!) that went in to locating anything about Will Harbut!!!!
IMPORTANTLY: Could the poster who talked about hearing stories about Will & Man O’ War please contact me @ abigail.anderson1849@gmail.com? INFO on Will is so lacking that I would LOVE to talk to you!!!!
Lil from KY
Kathy Kimber——–OUUUUUU You are sooooBig & Bad! You have me shivering in my boots—-ouou!!!~
I still say go pitch your tent & see how Zen is being cared for, if you’re so worried. This is not productive, this is not what Zen’s site is for, so enough already!

Dear Z Fans:
This is an interesting article, I think. Hugs, J.B. http://www.drf.com/news/jockey-club-will-fund-new-national-tv-series-focusing-racing

This video has nothing to do with Zenyatta, it’s just really cool and it does show a human – horse bond. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoW4cwf507g&feature=related

@ Max – thank you for posting in more detail what Roger Attfield said post race. I heard what he said but my head was spinning and not processing what I heard.
@ signofthetimes – You are correct, women carry on with their normal activities when “in foal” taking appropriate precautions, so why shouldn’t horses (except I didn’t enter a stakes race when I was pregnant) I was just being a worry wart again. Many congratulations to IT and Roger Attfield, a great trainer.

Hi Zenny: I watched HRTV live coverage of today’s races and I was very disappointed I didn’t see any coverage of the races at the Del Mar.
@JAG: Lucky you. Sure wish I was there. Well I guess that is something to look forward to next year. So glad to read you had a great time.

@Kathy Kimber: I just had the opportunity to use another PC and check Zen’s site. I am totally alarmed at what I have read from Barbara Wood and Lil from Kentucky. They have just helped me make up my mind that I no longer wish to bring *Noor to such a toxic back biting site. This will be my very last post on this site.
To those who have donated monies for *Noor’s relocation I thank you on behalf of him. To a handful of you I will keep you informed as to what transpires on the trip. I no longer wish to be part of an atmosphere where somebody’s words such as Kathy’s can be twisted to where they are not even recognizable of the original intent. The two of you ladies have put quite a spin on something so innocent for no where have I read where Kathy has either slammed Lane’s End, or Dottie Shirreffs.
You would best be served to take your energies and clean up your own house. I know you will respond to this knowing the kind of ladies that you are but understand this I won’t be reading it or anything else here.
Now if you would like to come after me be my guest. There ways to ge hold of my phone number and I will oblige you.
Kathy, chin up you are a terrific lady who I am proud to take with me to Kentucky and whose love not only encompasses Zenyatta but also *Noor and in that since *Noor reciprocates and says this: You are a champion also, never forget that. Charlotte
Max
@Eveline That was a great and inspiring video. I would give Stacey and her horse a 10 out of 10. I loved the Z like bow at the end.

For those who would like to pray an Evening Prayer. Just arrived home! Flat tire the first night! Only Dumplingz would understand and laugh! I missed you All so much! Took no notes as Charity is in the moment and right before our eyes..for Love never curves inward, always away from the Beloved Object. Thank you Zenyatta! Tired… goodnite my friends!

Discipline
Throw away the rod,
Throw away thy wrath:
O my God,
Take the gentle path.
For my heart’s desire
Unto thine is bent:
I aspire
To a full consent.
Though I fail, I weep:
Though I halt in pace,
Yet I creep
To the throne of grace.
Then let wrath remove;
Love will do the deed:
For with love
Stony hearts will bleed.
Love is swift of foot;
Love’s a man of war,
And can shoot,
And can hit from afar.
Who can scape his bow?
That which wrought on thee,
Brought thee low,
Needs must work on me.
Throw away thy rod;
Though man frailties hath,
Thou art God:
Throw away thy wrath.

@Trina Nagele: I agree with you–Zenny’s hoofprints should be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Oh, for heaven’s sake. The children are fighting again. I expected better from adults. Think I’ll take a break from this website for a while. Perhaps people can get things in proper perspective and starting acting their age. So long for a while!

@Kennedy’s in San Diego, I loved the story about Zenyatta and Mario. Thanks so much for sharing. Your other stories were great too.

Were you drinking…
Good evening Zenyatta,
my, catching up with all that’s been written since I visited last, tells me a lot of people are very interested in your wellfare. Your innermost circle and people you have never met. You’re one lucky horse.
Have a good night and sweet dreams

@Charlotte Farmer–what?? I’m being vilified for daring to voice that I’m happy with this site as it is? Unbelievable. I’m the most non-controversial person I know. You’re not going to get a fight out of me. “Come after you?” You must be kidding.
Barbara Wood
@judy berube–thanks for the info. about the new Jockey Club tv venture. Will be interesting.
@DJ–welcome back. You were missed.
Dear Z– looking forward to your next dr. visit and report. Love you always.

COZI ROSIE won the John Mabee stakes! How cool is that? She’s a granddaughter of the GREAT Golden Fleece, who was sired by Nijinsky. Congrats to the Mosses!

At the risk of incurring criticism, I humbly wish to point out that this Diary Post is a gift — a wonderful gift of love from Dottie and Z’s connections. All that is necessary is that we reciprocate graciously with love. As the old adage goes: You “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”. Just enjoy it, love it and watch it grow. Much love to you, Zenyatta, to Dottie and to the Z Family. Immeasurable thanks!
Hugs to All on this site from NC!

@Abigail from Montreal. Thanks for the news about Cozi Rosie. It sounds like she has learned a few winning rail techniques from Zazu. Congratulations to CR and the Mosses.
