Sarah was so sweet and took some other photos for us to share of the Museum. I hope you enjoy them.
I wanted to show you ROBERT FRANKEL’S plaque on the wall…as Dottie actually wrote the script for it for Bobby.

Dear Zenyatta Hi sweet one I hope you had a really good day. It was so pretty here in my part of Ohio. I know how pretty Kentucky is so I hope you and TT enjoyed that sunshine. I have to tell you something. I had a really hard week and did a lot of crying about my brother. He is very sick. Well today I got a really nice suprise that cheered me up and made me feel really good. You know I visited Claiborne Farm this summer and had a tour with a really nice man named Tony. The tour was on a Sunday morning and it was raining pretty hard. Well there were only four of us that showed up for the tour. This turned out to my advantage. Tony made this a kind of personal tour. He focused the tour around the GREAT Secretariat because I told him how much I loved him.(I had on my Secretariat shirt and pendant) Well after I got home I sent Tony another thank you because of how special he treated me. Today in the mail Tony sent me a beautiful picture of Mr.Greeley along with a very nice note. This just made me feel so good inside. I needed that and it was as if God knew this would bring me joy. Zenyatta you started all this in my life and I have to thank you. Following YOU and all the horses that have touched me have brought me such joy and peace. I even carry a picture of you in my purse for when I start to feel anxious. I think God gave you many hats to wear for your family and Z family. I for one am so greatful for YOU. I love you and always will. Thank you Zenny from the bottom of my heart. Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO
@ I will hang Mr. Greeley’s picture in my classroom along with yours and some of the pictures from Kentucky. I am thinking of making one whole corner of my classroom my horse activity center for extra research and activities dealing with horses and history. What do think Z family?
@ Susan in Tenn I am thinking about you and praying for you sweet women :)

Dear Zenny,
We are all enjoying the races, but miss you. Please stay healthy keep Bernie’s fetus warm and growing in the oven and have fun under your tree running and playing. That is what a broodmare is supposed to do. It is a new great career for you and you deserve
it. XXXOOO

@Kimberly Potter – I’ll keep you, your daughter-in-law, your son and the little one in my prayers.
@Keta – I loved your post.
@Charlotte Farmer – I agree with you also.
@Terry Crow – Another great joke. Where in the world do you find all of them?
Trina Nagele
@Lucia—It’s good to hear you are running many miles again. Does this mean you have completely recovered from the compression injury to your back in that fall from a horse? I hope so. Hugs.

@Kennedys in San Diego – I loved reading about Mario and Zenyatta. The bond they have is remarkable. Thank you for sharing.

@The Kennedy in San Diego
Horses often “scream” for their beloved people when they hear their voices. They often twirl round and round in their stalls and winny and call out until the human comes to greet them. Mario speaks very good horse language that is why she communicated to him so well. Also please keep in mind according to the Mosses
when Zenny was at Barn 55 she was surrounded by at least 15 people 24 hours a day. They also had a web cam in their home to watch her and make sure she was OK. The track is a very different lifestyle for any horse. It is very difficult and very hard to keep a horse of sound mind. Zenny is in a beautiful barn with lovely scenery now and is TRUELY A HORSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE !!!!!

@ Kimberly Potter I will pray for mom and baby.

@ Charlotte Farmer
Really appreciate your post. Zenny is probably not doing much of anything but being a broodmare, Relaxing and keeping that fetus warm. This foal is very precious and LE is doing their best job to keep her healthy, calm and happy emotionally as a REAL HORSE.
I think that she wants us to learn about racing and all of the things that she knew about when she was racing that a lot of us did not know about. And I don’t think Dottie or The Mosses or any of the folks from Barn 55 will every forget her fans. Secretariate still has soooo many fans and is still sooooo very popular. Don’t get discouraged, change is good.

Respecting the Position of Poet Laureate for Dumpling Equine Enterprises (DEE)— Whoa, ladies who jumped the gun in awarding this slot to me! There are other posters here who would like to get an application form before entries for this race are closed—Sunny Boyd, Ingrid in MA, and Gary Moulton
to mention just three on the rhyming course, and Dawn Conrad, Cynthia Holt, and Karen Gogue to mention just three of the MANY who compete on the lyrical prose course. I may be just a one-trick pony. I know Gary Moulton has real stamina—he’s working on a epic horseracing poem, if I remember correctly.

Hi Zenny, I am wishing for you to have a great weekend and hope there are some interesting things going on for you. The weather turned hot in Calif. so I will try to stay in the airconditioning. Will be waiting for your next post and sending you lots of love as always.

@Judy B
Just watched the Secretariat Stakes, missed it on original run.
Treasure Beaches jockey was TOO CUTE!!! After the race he was fondly pulling his right ear about three or four times and patting him between the ears.
Gosh my TB would have a fit. Ears were a NO NO!!!! Do not touch!!! Too much dragging by the ears into the racing gates.
Madison
I love the new’s…I heard Rachel is having a colt, does anyone know the sex of zenyatta’s foal?
Snoprinz
I’m looking forward to the day when Queen Z and her team get inducted to the Hall of Fame. I pray it will be in my lifetime.

@Trina Nagele; Point well-taken! There is an emabarrassment of riches on this site of really gifted writers. It is a joy to read so many comments/stories/poems so eloquently expressed, with an elegant usage of the Englsh language. How about rotating poet laureates? Everyone who loves words and writing will have an opporutnity to serve. As one of the partners, I must excuse myself from the mix, but thank you very much for including my name in a very stellar group (blush blush). However, one of the criteria must be at least one poem or story about Zenyatta ever week!!
Arlene
Hi Zenny, I’m anxiously waiting for the arrival of my Breyer Zenyatta. I have a spot all ready for it where I will see it every day near my computer.
@Kimberly Potter: Prayers for your family.
@The Kennedys in San Diego: Thank you very much for sharing your joyful converstation with Mario. It’s sad that Mario isn’t near enough to visit her.
@Signofthetimes: Thank you very much for your comments. Nice to hear that David Ingordo is near and visits Zenyatta and that she has a special paddock. What love and care!!!
Trina Nagele
@Kathy Kimber— Of course, we would ALL like more info on Z, and more stories from those who know her personally. Think how marvelous it would be if MARIO himself were posting, or any of Z’s connections. Maybe that will happen some day, in one way or another, but they are very busy people, and I am so grateful for what we DO get. I think it is much more than the fans of any other horse, even horses who are still competing, get. And the information that Signofthetimes posted above was all in Zenny’s diary (except, I believe, the info that Z’s stall was custom built for her). So please don’t complain that there is not enough info about Z if you don’t keep up with all the info that has been given. I think that asking Dottie for more is a little inconsiderate, and the same for calling Barbara Wood naive.
@Charlotte Farmer–I realize that you said no offense was intended, but I for one can’t help but feel offended, and I don’t think I am alone. Many posters may feel like going away if their efforts to contribute are met with this negativity (and I apologize for the negativity of my own post—I would much prefer to be positive).
Maybe you are having a bad spell? I hope not, what with your trip coming up. Hope you and Kathy can rest up a bit. Wishing you both all the best, Your friend, Trina
Trina Nagele
@Madison–The Mosses prefer not to know the sex of the foal until it is born, so we will just have to wait to find out along with Team Z.

Actually HRTV commentator said that Goldi and
Canford Cliffs were actually that much better than
He was, which is unbelievable.

@Charlotte Farmer: Who could possibly take offense at someone who expresses herself so beautifully, directly from the heart? Many will empathize with your words and feelings. Me too. And I agree, it is a very l-o-o-o-n-g stretch from now until March, when Zenyatta’s foal is born. And then after that? The dilemma is, where is there remedy? Dottie can only supply information and photographs of Zenyatta when provided her from those on the scene, or when she or a member of the team make the occasional visit. How do we stop time from marching on? Time means change, and the change here is that Zenyatta has retired and vanished from public view.
I loved Secretariat as you did Kelso, and, yes, it was heart-breaking to watch him him disappear from my life. Like you, I mourned my hero’s absence for years, and sought pieces of him in every horse I ever saw, so that I might still feel the magic of his life in mine. It was a futile and frustrating search, until the magnificent Zenyatta danced onto the racing stage and into our hearts.
What might we do? If is good to express opinions in an open forum, and all opinions must be respected. But when stating a problem, it is also well to offer solution. There is the sticking point. What can we do, so that Zenyatta does not go the way of Kelso or Secretariat? We cannot keep re-hashing the past. I feel stymied as to what I can offer in the way of remedy.
If you feel that current photographs and postings would “change the dynamics” of the site, how does one go about making this happen? If it is even possible?
I always look forward to your posts, and admire you so much for all that you have done and are doing, and for your noble sensibilities regarding racing and the horses which populate it, both past and present. I wish I knew what more to say.
B Kaye
Congrats. Miss you.

@ LouAnn Cingel of Union, Missouri –So sorry to hear that you were so ill, and so glad that you are back with your lovely signature sign off to Zenny, who shines “brighter than any star up above.”

Happy Saturday Zenny!! Hope your day was great. Just want you to know that your diary is the last place I visit every night. I come here to see what you have been up to and what wonderful stories and information you have to pass on. Also for the camaraderie of Z Fans. From reading everyone’s posts, you have given most all of us the inspiration to do “something” worthwhile. Whether it be donating our services or funds for needy equines, canines, felines, etc. And also being a shoulder to lean-on, cry-on or vent-on. Your Dottie, John, Lane’s End and the rest of your team have taken their valuable time to keep us in your loop. For that, there is no repayment or thanks great enough.
I am so glad I found you, Z!!! And will always come here to “see” you.
Lotsa love to you, Zenyatta and Team(s) Zenyatta.

@ Keta I loved your post. I am reading a great book about the Kentucky Derby from different years. I am learning so much.

@Shari Voltz–what I wouldn’t have given for a teacher like you. Hope you have a wonderful school year. Let Dawn know we miss her and hope she is having a great time.
Everyone have a great night and lotsa love to all.
