Good Morning,
A great deal of excitement took place again last evening at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale. MY BERNIE had another successful evening with colts he sired selling for $1,200,000….750,000….725,000. He sired a filly which sold for $500,000. Things are truly looking terrific for MY GUY!
Earlier in the day during training hours, Uncle Mo breezed on the Oklahoma Training Track. Saratoga has 2 really nice tracks for the horses to train on each day: the main track and then the Oklahoma Training Track which is very close to the barn area.
In the above photo, Uncle Mo is going out for this breeze. From all reports, he really looked terrific going the 5 furlongs in a ‘bullet’ 100.22. A ‘bullet’, in reference to workout times, means it is the fastest recorded time that morning for a particular distance.
Mo’s camp feels he is really making wonderful progress in his training. It is quite exciting as he looks to be on target to run in The King’s Bishop… August 27th. Hooves crossed for Uncle Mo! Keep up the great work!
On another note, today is the birthday of 2 members of MY TEAM: Dottie and Mikie Smith. I think this is just TOO CUTE that they are both LEOS and born on August 10th.
My warmest wishes for them both to have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Happy Birthday Dottie and Mike! That is so cool that you have the same birthday. That is too cute! I love Leos. My mom is a Leo and I had a sweet, wonderful cat named Leo, God rest his soul. The two of you are such incredible people and such great ambassadors for the sport of racing. I truly hope both of you have an awesome, fabulous birthday! :-)
@Sunny Boyd and signofthetimes – Thanks again for your kind words on yesterday’s posts. I like what you said, Sunny, about not looking back two years from now. As hard as it’s going to be, I truly think Vivian will do the right thing and not wait too long because she definitely does not want Winston to suffer. I talked to her today and she’s already talking about getting a shelter dog after Winston passes. Hugs, Debbie

I wish Bobine or Valeria might have won! Looks like Valeria finished mid-pack.
@Brenda S: Actually, that was my plan! First, the winning lottery ticket, then the farm! I will consult with Kari B., but I am sure she won’t mind opening the partnership to new investors . However, you may have to settle for silks with the number “12” on the back. Or maybe we could have an alternate choice, with a pierogi or other such dumpling. I hope that the farm will stay on the market for a bit, so we can gather our resources!
@Barbara Wood: Not to get knickers in a twist! Of course, all Zennyland inhabitants and Dumplings are most welcome. The more the merrier (and the more insane, the better!). Winners’ Circle photos would be a nighmare for the Benoits (use widest pan lens). “Hey! Where’s the horse?”

Dear Signofthetimes and Z Fans:
Just checked my Horse Watch and Take Control, A.P.Indy Colt out of Azeri had a work of 5F 1:01.40 at Del Mar on 8/6/11. Maybe he’ll be racing soon. Hugs, J.B.

Dear Cynthia H.:
If I may add my uninvited opinion, I think a Dumpling on the silks is a splendid idea. I think I qualify for the insane bit. Hugs, J.B.

Zenny, I bet my life your baby is not for sale!!! And the best present you can give Dottie is a healthy happy baby for her to love and cherrish as we all love and cherrish her….your Dottie is a strong, courageous woman full of heart who has gone through hard times and come out the other side knowing what it is like to have to hang on….she is caring and lives her life full. I am proud to have met her and have had my life touched by hers…you take good care of her Zenny xoxoxoxo

@judy berube — We too are fans of Azeri’s colt,Take Control (by A P Indy). Hope to see him in the next few days — perhaps we can find out when a race is planned.

Speaking of Azeri, has anyone read any updates on her filly, Arienza?

From TROTTSoCal: [Brooke] “Our Today Show piece aired today! Here is the link. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/ I`m getting tons of e`mails and phone calls from people who want to help! What an answered prayer.” [Both Dottie and Mike helped this come true for TROTT California, and it has made a huge difference.]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOTTIE AND MIKE. I hope that you both have had and are having wonderful birthdays. Thank you for sharing Queen Z with us. She is so awesome as are her connections. She is soooo beautiful. I can’t wait to read each daily post. THANK YOU.
Brenda S..
@ Cynthia H – The Dumpling is a given and we can discuss colors, what would be TOO CUTE on Mike? As for the horse, Keeneland is coming up in September. Hope we’re not all buying tickets on the same lottery.
