Good Morning,
A great deal of excitement took place again last evening at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale. MY BERNIE had another successful evening with colts he sired selling for $1,200,000….750,000….725,000. He sired a filly which sold for $500,000. Things are truly looking terrific for MY GUY!
Earlier in the day during training hours, Uncle Mo breezed on the Oklahoma Training Track. Saratoga has 2 really nice tracks for the horses to train on each day: the main track and then the Oklahoma Training Track which is very close to the barn area.
In the above photo, Uncle Mo is going out for this breeze. From all reports, he really looked terrific going the 5 furlongs in a ‘bullet’ 100.22. A ‘bullet’, in reference to workout times, means it is the fastest recorded time that morning for a particular distance.
Mo’s camp feels he is really making wonderful progress in his training. It is quite exciting as he looks to be on target to run in The King’s Bishop… August 27th. Hooves crossed for Uncle Mo! Keep up the great work!
On another note, today is the birthday of 2 members of MY TEAM: Dottie and Mikie Smith. I think this is just TOO CUTE that they are both LEOS and born on August 10th.
My warmest wishes for them both to have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Happy Birthday to Dottie and Mike!! Many, many thanks to Dottie for allowing us all to be a part of Zenyatta’s new life. Like everyone else, as soon as I get home from work I log on to Zenyatta.com to catch up on the latest. I love reading what Zenyatta has to say – it is always so informative and uplifting. A big thank you to Mike (even though you don’t have a clue) – I went to the 2009 Breeders Cup and the poster that Santa Anita gave out that day of Mike and Z I got signed by Mike (my friend chased you down after the race – THANK YOU for taking the time to sign it). I had the poster framed, along with the program, Breeders Cup tickets and my wager placed on Z to win!! I look at it everyday with great joy and pride. I also went to the 2010 Breeders Cup and as far as I’m concerned you won that one, too!!! Last, but not least, thank you to all Team Zenyatta members. I’ll drink a Guiness for you Z!

Trina, I keep coming back to the computer to read your poem. You said it all so well.
Hoof, Hoof, Hoof-ray for Dottie!
Dani
Happiest of birthdays Dottie. You are a wonderful woman and a true role model. You have made dreams come true by keeping this diary always up to date, informative, fun and inspirational. You are loved by everyone. May this year bring you and your family and friends much joy and happiness, good health and many special moments. Kindest regards, Dani :)

DOTTIE: Thank you so much for all the time you have taken to give Zenyatta her voice and to teach us all so much about the life & culture of the horse racing community. I wish you a year filled with peace, laughter, love and good health. May all the joy and support that your kindness and generosity has meant to others be returned to you in buckets!!!! I hope you kick up your heels on this, your special day!
MIKE SMITH: I had been a fan of yours for many moons before the Queen came into your life. I loved Azeri & would think to myself, “That Mike Smith is a filly’s guy!” And lo & behold, along came Zenny. I wish you continued health and wish you a year of love, laughter and prosperity. Kick up your heels, Mike. IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Dear Z Fans:
Looks like they made a decision. Don’t know if it’s for the best interest of the horses or not. Hugs, J.B. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/64477/no-salix-in-graded-stakes-for-2yos-in-2012

Happy Birthday wishes to Dottie and Mike! I wish you both the very best life has to offer and more! Love to Zenyatta, too. P.S. I am also a Leo.
Brenda S..
A very happy day here in Fort Erie – our tickets for Saratoga arrived so we now have Z Tags and tickets ready for the Alabama and whatever happens on Sunday, the 21st, in addition to the track breakfast and back side tour. After the news about Uncle Mo I’m now wishing that we could be there for the Travers weekend but the old age pension plan doesn’t pay enough to seniors who want to travel every weekend to watch horses run. At least the Travers will be on TV.
@ Kari B and Cynthia H – I’m buying lottery tickets so that when I win I can outbid you but I’ll consider a partnership in a farm. I saw a really nice one on the market in Lexington.

When you shine, Miss Dottie, everyone feels radiant; and when Mike rides, his horses run trusting him [‘Z’ closing her eyes, as Sharon Call wrote you, made me tear up]. .. qualities rare and treasured. Always the best to you both on very Happy Birthdays. So glad Uncle Mo has rallied — he`s such a sweetheart. Khc. [I`ll have what we`re serving now, DJ, for a great day, w/ so many good things to celebrate!] ~ Trina, with all else you`re doing for us, thanks especially for your words.

Dear Molly:
Did you ever come across this article on Omaha from 2005? Sounds like his burial site might be inaccessible now because buildings might have been constructed right over it. So maybe even the new technology that’s available today might not be able to scan the area. If so, that’s a shame. His remains should have been moved like Noor’s once his resting place was in jeopardy. Hugs, J.B. http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/weekly-feature-articles/2005/september/03/burial-site-of-triple-crown-winner-omaha-shrouded-in-mystery.aspx

@Brenda S–no fair! We have to all go in on the farm…and get David to buy our horses…and John to train them…and Mikey to ride them. Then they would all retire to the farm and have fabulous, safe happy-ever-afters.We could be like the guys from Sackatoga with Funny Cide!
Sounds like heaven to me.

Okay Race this will be tough..rooting for you Mike Smith on Bobine but of course also Valeria with Moss’ colors streaming in! God is Good and I believe in both..AT the Gates..

Irene Caty——NO, Zenny is NOT alone or lonely, she has PLENTY of people around her & taking wonderful care of her, plus
she is around her horse pals every day. As far as visitors go, that’s the last thing she needs right now, visitors are not allowed & rightfully so for THE PROTECTION OF ZENNY!! And that’s the most important thing—-NOT what people want, that’s selfish.

p.s. A lot of bumping coming out of the gate with 1, 2, 3. Chantal passed Gomez down the stretch… waiting for the results of Shirreffs horses.
