Good Morning,
A great deal of excitement took place again last evening at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale. MY BERNIE had another successful evening with colts he sired selling for $1,200,000….750,000….725,000. He sired a filly which sold for $500,000. Things are truly looking terrific for MY GUY!
Earlier in the day during training hours, Uncle Mo breezed on the Oklahoma Training Track. Saratoga has 2 really nice tracks for the horses to train on each day: the main track and then the Oklahoma Training Track which is very close to the barn area.
In the above photo, Uncle Mo is going out for this breeze. From all reports, he really looked terrific going the 5 furlongs in a ‘bullet’ 100.22. A ‘bullet’, in reference to workout times, means it is the fastest recorded time that morning for a particular distance.
Mo’s camp feels he is really making wonderful progress in his training. It is quite exciting as he looks to be on target to run in The King’s Bishop… August 27th. Hooves crossed for Uncle Mo! Keep up the great work!
On another note, today is the birthday of 2 members of MY TEAM: Dottie and Mikie Smith. I think this is just TOO CUTE that they are both LEOS and born on August 10th.
My warmest wishes for them both to have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Belated birthday wishes Dottie and Mike. Hope you both have a very successful year!
You are both such inspirations, that Aug. 10 must be a very special birth-day. I was at Del Mar today – a lovely day at the track. I see that mike and Chantel are doing a “battle of the exes” dinner to raise money for Carma. What a great idea and I hope it is very successful. LOve to Zenyatta and both of you.

There is just one juvenile filly race with a 5 horse field at Saratoga today. I think we will pass this one and just watch. Granny is playing it. She is really on her toes, always thinking. Granny said she will bet on 4 horses to show and throw Pletcher’s horse out. She will for sure cash two tickets and if by some chance Pletcher’s horse doesn’t hit the board she will cash three out of four tickets, and they could pay boxcar prices. You got to watch those pools. I hope it doesn’t happen. I’ll let you in on a little secret. I have been sitting on Grandma’s bets. She hands me the money every morning and I pay her every night. If all the conditions are right and Pletcher’s horse runs out, I could end up owing her almost a $100. At Del Mar they have two juvies, race 5 and race 8. Race 8 is a full field and race 5 has 8 horses. Ladies first then the boys in the 8th. We will bump box both.

Zenyatta, congratulations to Bernardini for getting good prices at the Saratoga yearling sale for horses he sired. They are worth every penny paid for them just as you are well worth every penny that Dottie Shirreffs’ son paid for you. I wasn’t trying to make him sound cheap in the last post when I stated that you are worth more than he paid for you. I apologize if anyone reads that and gets the idea that I am calling him cheap. I am not saying that there was anything wrong with him buying you at a good price-I was trying to say that even if he had paid a whole lot more for you than he did, you still would have been worth every penny and then some, because you are. If I were buying a horse, I would try to get the best price just like I would do if I were buying anything else. Congratulations to Uncle Mo for all the progress he is making at getting his speed back up. It is very nice and kind of you to show concern for him, Zenyatta. I hope he gets back into the exact same condition that he was in before his misfortune that kept him out of racing earlier this year. I trust Todd Pletcher, his trainer and Mike Repole, his owner. Give it time. Happy birthdays to Dottie Shirreffs and Mike Smith. It’s an amazing coincidence that both of these people have their birthdays on the same day.
