Good Morning,
A great deal of excitement took place again last evening at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale. MY BERNIE had another successful evening with colts he sired selling for $1,200,000….750,000….725,000. He sired a filly which sold for $500,000. Things are truly looking terrific for MY GUY!
Earlier in the day during training hours, Uncle Mo breezed on the Oklahoma Training Track. Saratoga has 2 really nice tracks for the horses to train on each day: the main track and then the Oklahoma Training Track which is very close to the barn area.
In the above photo, Uncle Mo is going out for this breeze. From all reports, he really looked terrific going the 5 furlongs in a ‘bullet’ 100.22. A ‘bullet’, in reference to workout times, means it is the fastest recorded time that morning for a particular distance.
Mo’s camp feels he is really making wonderful progress in his training. It is quite exciting as he looks to be on target to run in The King’s Bishop… August 27th. Hooves crossed for Uncle Mo! Keep up the great work!
On another note, today is the birthday of 2 members of MY TEAM: Dottie and Mikie Smith. I think this is just TOO CUTE that they are both LEOS and born on August 10th.
My warmest wishes for them both to have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hi, BarbaraG: It is a clip ‘Today’ pre-empted awhile back for TROTTSoCal [California], a group Dottie featured at DP#309. And it IS a bit tricky to locate after you click on the link given above. .. . Along the top are various categories; under ‘Pets’ >>[right], tap next to a pic of a rider on a ‘polo pony,’ in reality, a TB. The Video is ‘Finding retirement homes for racehorses.’ ~ By the way, thank you for the appendix [still a gleam in my eye, but on the trail]. K.

@Barn 55 – The best tribute we can give you as we raise our glasses to you is to be faithful guardians to all that you stand for. That is the best birthday gift we can give you and the fair lady Zenyatta. Consider me one of your many legions forever standing watch and knowing that I will not see another such as you in my lifetime. You truly are one of a kind are those from Barn 55.

If each one of us lite a candle on Z’s site tonight wouldn’t that be a bright spot? I just did.

Happy Birthday to Dottie and Mike. I hope you both had a special day.
I wish I could send the painting of you Z girl hanging up in Fastig Tipton building. You are dancing with a little girl holding your lead. I have it on my cell phone. Too bad you don’t have a cell phone, I would send it to you. ha…
Have a great Thursdayl

Fasting-Tipton became a Dubai based company
In the 1980’s. Majority owner is a North American
With a North American Board. Sheik Mohmed owns
Darley Intetnational and made purchases to race
And add to his breeding program. It is interesting that
He purchased all horse bred to his stallions. I am sure
There is a planned reason for that. Thanks to him
For the economic infusion during difficult US times. Thanks
To him for breeding and standing some of the best
Quality stallions especially Zenny’s Bernie

Hello, Beautiful Girl! Hope you have had a lovely Wednesday! Please give your wonderful Dottie and the incomparable Mike my sincere Happy Birthday greetings!
Happy Birthday to all our Leos!
@Pat Littlefield: Great to hear from you again (Granny P)!
@Trina Nagele: Fantastic talent for poetry! Thanks so much!
@Especially Horses: From a quirky animal lover, what a great post! I am one of the “most who are pleased all the time” with this site!
@DJ: Would a Gin & Tonic work, too?
@Doreen: What a lovely sentiment and tribute to your mother. Thanks!
@Charlotte Farmer: Bravo, Charlotte! So well stated!! If there is a building on Omaha’s burial site now, it may well be torn down for RE-development in the not too distant future since that seems to be the rule in our transient times. We must remain vigilant when/if the opportunity arises. I sincerely hope that Omaha has not been lost to us forever. Again, thanks to you for being Noor’s guardian angel!

Oh Char! What amazing posts you put up!

Zenyatta, could you talk with John and tell us how Eblouissante is progressing? Thank you for all of your insightful diary entries. Miss ya.
Ellen from Mariposa
Happy Birthday Dottie!
Thank you for all you do to keep us updated and included in Z’s life, and all the information you give us about horse racing in general.
I look forward to Zenyatta’s diary posts every day.
Happy Birthday Mike!
You rode our Queen Z as no one else could!
I am always rooting for you, no matter who you are riding these days.
Love and hugs to both of you (and, of course, to Z, too!).

Happy Birthday to Dottie and Mike (though it’s almost the 11th of Aug. here now.) Glad to hear the Bernardini yearlings are selling well. The Keeneland Sept. sale catalog is online now at their website, and there are quite a few Berni yearlings in there as well. There is also a chestnut colt by Street Cry (Z’s sire) out of Balance (Z’s half sister.) I would expect heavy bidding on this colt and “international intrigue.” Balance’s first colt, Mr. Besilu, sold at Keeneland for 4.2 million last year.
And oh, Vertigineux (Zenyatta’s dam) has been bred back to Street Cry, so (hooves crossed), there should be a full brother or sister to Zenyatta early next year! Exciting stuff!
Marshall (girl's name)
Addendum to my previous post: Love you Zenyatta!!
@Susan in TN, Amanda Gilliland, and Dawn Conrad: Where are you? I know Dawn was on vacation, but, Susan & Amanda, are you all okay? Hope all of you are in good shape. Let us hear from you, posthaste!
Thanks a million!
Kisses to you, Z, on your lovely soft nose!
Char
Happy birthday and best wishes to both Dottie and Mike. You make horse racing that much better :)

A Night Prayer/Hymn for those who would like to pray one…for Dottie Shirreffs intentions:
…………………………………..
Shepherd of souls, in love come, feed us,
Life-giving love for hungry hearts!
To those refreshing waters lead us
Where dwells that peace your grace imparts.
May we, the wayward in your fold,
By your forgiveness rest consoled.
Life-giving vine, come feed and nourish,
Strengthen each branch with life divine;
Ever in you O may we flourish,
Fruitful the branches on the vine.
Lord, may our souls be purified
So that in your gentleness we abide.
Worthy of you are you alone;
Yet in your sake do we implore you,
Rich the mercies you have shown.
Say but the word, O Lord divine,
Then are our hearts made pure like thine.

Happy Birthday Dottie. So nice to see lots of names of posters we don’t usually see. There are also lots on the special facebook page, Happy Birthday Dottie. Dottie, try to have a quick look at Pants On Fire’s fb. He posted teling his friends to say H.B. to you on the special page, but they misunderstood and left you birthday wishes on his page under the link he posted. Off to Del Mar…..

Good morning Z– just checking in and wondering where all the AWOL Dumplings are.

Good morning Zenny, Cooler weather here in Fort Erie, Ive had the A/C off now for three days and had all the windows open.
The forecast for Lexington is for less humidity today so you and Tasty T should be able to spend a nice relaxing day in your paddock enjoying that lush grass. Did you get some extra treats yesterday to celebrate Dottie’s birthday? Looking forward to seeing a new photo of you but we may have to wait until Sarah gets back from Saratoga.
Have a lovely day Momma.

Hi gorgeous!!! Thanks for the info on Uncle Moe. I just adore him and have been quite depressed that he was having health problems. But he looks wonderful and is burning up the track again. I can’t wait to see him back where he belongs.
