Dear Friends,
I hope all of you are doing well!
I have been blessed to have so many wonderful FANS in my life. I truly appreciate ALL OF YOU. I’d like you to meet my newest fan…one I have never met before in person. He is Karol Ballard’s dog, LEX.
In a video segment we showed months ago on how NINA (equine sculptor) took all of my measurements in detail to be sure she could reproduce my image to perfection…Karol is the woman who was working with her. This is her dog meeting ME!
To quote Nina, “Lex is paying homage to ST. ZENYATTA, as we call her!” How cute is this!
LEX is bowing down to really get a good look at ME! In my personal opinion, I think he also wants to PLAY!
With love,
Hugs to ALL~

@ALL: I am both physically and emotionally drained tonight. I just don’t feel like being funny even though Terry’s joke was a total hoot (and resembles somebody I see every day – – – in the mirror).
I don’t agree with all of you on every little thing but one thing is sure. I respect and honor and love people with passion for justice and taking up causes. I don’t think there is a single person who posts here that isn’t in that group.
Tomorrow I will back track through all these posts writing down the links and action items. Then like the warrior spirit inside me – brick by brick, day by day, act by act – I will soldier through until the deed is done.
@Zenyatta: You are a source of incredible energy and strength.

@Shari Voltz—I was saddened to read of your unfortunate experience with one of your peers. You remarked that she picks on everybody–how sad is that! Such a person is the very opposite of a teacher, I would say.
I was wondering if she knows how much your students love you, how enthusiastically they work on the projects you assign, how much they have been inspired for the rest of their lives by you. If she does know, then I would venture to say that she is jealous of you. If she doesn’t know, then she doesn’t know you at all. In either case, she is not worthy of your wasting another moment’s thought on her.
Hugs and high hoof to you, from one educator to another. Yours,Trina

Zen, Lex adores you. So many of us do too.

The following is typed with a sense of amusement and humor…
@Sunny Boyd- In case you missed it, I commented on how beautiful your poem to The Queen is :) :) :) …
I clearly said do it FOR Z …not in her name. :) :) I greatly respect your right to follow YOUR heart as I must follow mine. However I was not aware of any people in Canada or Mexico who own and sell their horses for formula…In answer to your question…YES, I do think it is rational to eventually stop horse slaughter in U.S., Mexico & Canada…Also just because you can do something doesn’t make it morally right….as for “gainful employment”…in this economy humans can’t find it…
P.S.- I would have been more than happy to mail you several goats if you had just asked-LOLOLOL! :) :) :)
Hope you have a great Thursday….Hugs & JOY to you!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Very cute picture “Z”. I think you are right…he does want to play with you. BTW, my grandson has a cat, that he named “Z”, who is just the same age as you. Since “Z” lives with me now, it sort of gives me a connection with you. And BTW, Cory is quite a horseman, too. Been on the back of a horse, since he was an infant. He is 13 now, and wants to be a treainer some day.

I was not sincere with the baby formular.
What I meant with gainful employment, for example: In New Zealand, the whales were hunted for financial gain. Now, the- save- the- whales- guys convinced the locals to change the way they look at the whales, without loss of income. And they created a tourism industry designed to observe, preserve & support the whale population. In Mexico, the place the Monarch Butterfly migrates to, they were deforesting the very area for income, now they turned the area into a refuge for Monarchs, and again it is attracting tourism from all over the world, not only is it more profitable for the locals but also is preserving the fauna & butterflies.
So, why can’t this be done for horses?
Why is always the first ‘bright’ idea the government? Washington is totally inept, as is.
What’s with the goats? I like little goats, I love goat-cheese.
What I meant with dogs eating dogs, nature/ life is predatory. Enlightenment is what makes the difference.
Good morning St. Zenyatta,
have a great day.
Rain is coming. Wheehee :) :) :)

Tooooo cute! Have a great day Zenny, hope it isn’t too uncomfortable in your area. This heat wave has affected so many people and animals. Glad you have fans and a nice stable.

Lex is a very cute dog! That’s true…Lex is in the “let’s play” stance.

@J SMith–you are so right–it begins with the overbreeding.
I went to the Nevada rescue site, and they need the money bt Monday. I don’t think I could get anything there by then. Please let us know if people step up to help. Unbearable–they are beautiful. They only have $100. Surely these horses are worth saving. When I get back home, I may give them a call.

@Peggy One. This is months old and these horses were taken care of back in February. Don’t know how this got started again, but please DON’T REPOST.

Thanks to Dottie and gang for keeping the daily posts going for Zenyatta’s “can’t get enough of her” fans.
Love, hugs and kisses to all. Especially you gorgeous Zenyatta.

@J Smith. I so agree with you that there is overbreeding in horses. However, there is massive overbreeding with dogs and cats and this has been going on for decades. Personally, I think Germany has the best idea in that they require a person/people that want to breed dogs register for a license with the country and they regulate how many people are allowed to do that. That being said, Germany is nowhere the size of the US. Who would place the cap on breeding of horses? Feds or state? Could anyone get them to do it? Probably not. How do you tell someone that there is a law against breeding their animal, be it horses, dogs or cats and would they pay any attention to it? How would you enforce such a law?
Don’t get me wrong – I totally agree with you and that’s why I stalk intact cats that come through my yard, catch them and take them to my vet to be spayed/neutered and have a 3 year rabies shot. There are just too many people that will continue to breed animals as long as they think they can make a buck off of them, whether it’s in the animals’ best interest or not. This is one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever encountered and there are so many people out there trying to do something about it on the dog/cat level. I don’t really have any experience on approaching overbreeding on the horse level.

For those who would like to start the day with a Morning Prayer/Hymn:
……………………………………
When heaven and earth were still unmade,
When time was yet unknown,
You in your radiant majesty
Did live and love alone.
You were not born, there was no source
From which your Being flowed;
There is no end which you can reach,
For you are simply God.
How wonderful creation is,
The work which you did bless;
What then must you be like, Dear God,
Eternal loveliness!
Most ancient of all mysteries,
Before your throne we lie,
Have mercy now and evermore,
Impart your Unity.
…………………………………

@Sharon Call, for sure, way too many cats & dogs too. A tricky thing to enforce, but i’d really like to see what ideas some of the different horse groups have on stopping overbreeding. I have 0 experience on this subject too, so would like know what idea’s experts do have. I will make an effort to research then can support organizations whose ideas I like. Or maybe I have to encourage the experts to come up with something fesable (how the heck do u spell that)! But dialog needs to begin,& fast. It doesn’t take long to do the math on the # of horses slaughtered per year, the # being born, = no more slaughter, then what to do with the homeless horses every year. Not that I’d ever want slaughter to continue, but it’s a problem that would need a quick solution. I commend you for helping reduce the cat population. There are always cats at horse barns, please everyone, if you r a regular at a barn, make sure the cats are spayed & neutered. Which reminds me, I wanted to check on the cats at Hollywood Park, not just Johns, there’s a lot of them all over the place. I know they serve a purpose, but they live for approx 15 years, so if more are needed, lives can be saved by adopting cats from the local shelter or rescue.

Today there is just one Baby race at Del Mar, Race 3. Don’t know a thing about these little girls but Zenny told me something yesterday to look for. It might not happen but Zen sure knows a lot about these young horses. Hope that’s a good sign when she has her own little one. At Saratoga we just happen to have three bumps in a row. Races 3, 4, & 5. We will shoot for a hat trick. I’m going to try a Pick 3. Of course the rules are different for this bet. I am going to play a 2x2x2 for a buck and hope for a large payout. Make your bet before the 3rd Race. We have a sale today 3 for $8.00. We save $10.00. Most likely we will be out in the first leg. If we are alive by the 3rd leg believe me, watching Race 5 will be way more exciting then your average race.
.
SARATOGA –
Race 3 – #4 “Stay Composed” & #8 “Xunlei”, Race 4 – #2 “Dayatthespa” & #9 “Satin Sheeks”, & Race 5 – #9 “Why Take a Chance” & #10 “Harbor Mist”
.
$1.00 Pick Three – 4, 8 // 2, 9 // 9, 10 = $8.00
.
DEL MAR –
Race 4 -#2 “Scream Queen”, #5 “Wild Truffles”, & #7 “Bursquel”
.
$1.00 Triple Box 2, 5, 7 = $6.00

@Everyone – I took a chill pill and I’m sorry for going off yesterday and thanks to the ones who have my back. I would go to War with each and every one of you. Thanks for your support. It’s not just the horses, although they are a big part, it’s about EVIL all over the world in these crazy times and I’m still mad and plotting against the Devil.
.
@judy berube – Good luck Today.
.
@Trina Nagele – Good Song – High Hoof back at you and a Hind Quarter Bump.

Hi Queen Z! Hope you are doing great & enjoying life! What can I say about that adorable dog & your statue but “TOO CUTE”! Good luck to Zazu this weekend in the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes!! Z, I’m among your biggest fans & I always enjoy reading your diary but I have only made a few posts. I guess I feel I’m repeating what someone else has said or I just don’t know how to talk to someone as GREAT as you. But what I want to say today I feel is important. I’m in no way asking anything of your people, I’m just trying to get the word out about a situation with horses that need help & I couldn’t think of a better place to do it than your diary so I hope you & Dottie don’t mind me sharing this information. There is a equine rescue place called Beauty’s Haven in Morriston, Florida. They are a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit Organization, EIN: 20-4783950, Registration No: CH21245. There website is http://www.beautysequinerescue.org. They are currently understaffed & have taken in quite a few new horses. I realize your people must get multitudes of pleas from charities but all I’m trying to do is spread the word so if maybe just a few people see this it might help out. I live in Texas myself & have no personal connections with this organization other than I saw a photo of a little colt barely 3 months old named Indy they had taken in & it was love at first sight. I decided on my own to make a donation to this particular colt to help with his expenses & to keep it up on a regular basis. Anyway, I apologize sincerely if I was in any way out of line mentioning something like this on your diary. I love you Z & you are one of the most amazing racehorses I have ever seen!! I also respect your trainer John letting you grow into the sport instead of rushing you & risking you getting injured. I’m sure you’re aware of all the colts that were injured in this years Triple Crown series. Anyway, take care of yourself baby girl, major hugs & love you, Cara xxxooo :) :) :)

What a TOO CUTE picture! everyone loves
Zenny.
Trina: Great idea to have some one like Penny C be the spokesperson to help end horse slaughter, with all of Zenny’s fans to help with the heavy lifting.
As a horse owner for over 40 years and a lifetime horse lover this horrible practice of horse slaughter must end. We must protect the race horse that does not win so in the eyes of the owner has no value. There are so many young animals that are not given the chance to develop whose lives are ended.

man from the cruelty of man. Mahatma Gandhi
