Dear Friends,
I hope all of you are doing well!
I have been blessed to have so many wonderful FANS in my life. I truly appreciate ALL OF YOU. I’d like you to meet my newest fan…one I have never met before in person. He is Karol Ballard’s dog, LEX.
In a video segment we showed months ago on how NINA (equine sculptor) took all of my measurements in detail to be sure she could reproduce my image to perfection…Karol is the woman who was working with her. This is her dog meeting ME!
To quote Nina, “Lex is paying homage to ST. ZENYATTA, as we call her!” How cute is this!
LEX is bowing down to really get a good look at ME! In my personal opinion, I think he also wants to PLAY!
With love,
Hugs to ALL~

For those who would like to pray an Evening Prayer/Hymn:
………………………………..
Lord of all being, throned afar,
Your glory flames from sun and star;
Center and soul of every sphere,
And yet to loving hearts how near.
Sun of our life, your living ray
Sheds on our path the glow of the day;
Star of our hope, your gentle light
Shall ever cheer the longest night.
Lord of all life, below, above,
Whose light is truth, whose warmth is love;
Before the brilliance of your throne
We ask no luster of our own.
Give us your grace to make us true,
And kindling hearts that burn for you,
Till all your living altars claim
One holy light, one heavenly flame.
………………………………..

@Shari Voigt; Don’t ever get down for what you may love and because of that are teaching your students many things. You have been on this post like me from day one, and I realize you are genuine and have found an exciting way to teach with your kids.
Love you again sweet Z

Zenny, that photo is TOO CUTE! Some serious thoughts going on with the posts today. Will get my ducks in a row and start bombarding all the powers that be over this horse slaughter bill. Ferdinand’s No Day Off should be the call to arms of us Z’sters on this issue.
Really good ideas going on and yes, Gary Moulton, if I were closer, I’d say let’s get go to Mountaineer. I will never be able to watch another race from there and not think of Deputy Broad.
Be at peace in Heaven’s fields Deputy Broad, No Day Off, Ferdinand and all those in-between. ‘
60 Minutes could do The Spectrum, showing how good it can be with Zenny to rescuees to No Day Off and Deputy Broad. wouldn’t that be an eye-opener.
Zenny and all your royal court, have a great night.
Lotsa love to all.
Max
@judy berube. One of my favorites from Bernie’s photos is the one of Cherrie with her Bernardini foal, who is less than 24 hours old and is already outside, while the mare enjoys herself with a relaxing roll in the snow, all hooves in the air. It is wonderful to see such a quick recovery from a birth. I also like to see photos of horses asleep. It is always a beautiful thing to see such marvelous creatures at peace.

SARATOGA –
Race 2- Zenny was right about Todd’s horse and I was right about the price. It looks like Todd can win every one, LOL. The $1 Tri paid $18. You can’t make money on those. I had the first two and the Sheiks horse got nosed out for the show spot. They finished 1st, 2nd, & 4th -$6.00
.
DELMAR
Race 7 – “Sherman Bartlebort” never got the lead but I was right on him, he didn’t hit the board at even money. “Rousing Sermon” got 2 bucks back for Grandma. She bets $2 to show on all my picks. This was a very good race, close, good time, and they are all going to improve. This very well could be a “Key Race”. We have to wait and see if they all come out OK and how many come back and win. Finish was 3rd, 4th, & 7th -$6.00
.
Race 8 – Well 2 out of three again. I sure hope I can catch a good one before the end of the summer. The time was 1.12 slower then the boy that “Graduated” today. The field was full and the D. Wayne system would have missed too. The Tri in this race paid $947.20 for a buck. Darts finished 2nd, 3rd, & 7th -$6.00
.
-$18.00 Today – $97.80 Going into tomorrow
.
.
@DJ – I put “Rousing Sermon” in there. That was the first horse I looked at when I started capping. That’s what made me go off on this rant this morning and I’m still on it.
.
@Sharon Call – Personally I like the teenagers better then anybody in the Government. Well maybe a couple of college kids would be better then teenagers. I think if you let anybody in the Government know the fuzz will be waiting for you. There is a real good spy store in Washington D. C. They have everything someone would need to track. Unfortunately all the good stuff is not available to the Public, only to the Government, LOL, HONEST TRUTH
.
@Margaret – Yes I know, why do you think I want to target Mountaineer? Do you know how many people read the ABR? We need a pulpit to reach millions. We might need horses again when nobody will be able to afford gas, if there is any left refined, we have plenty of oil, or when there is not enough sun for solar cars, or to go in the other direction when the Government tells you to go their way and everybody is jammed on the interstate like sitting ducks just like our Men and Women in the Mid-East. I know I’m going the other way when they try to herd me into a box. So would any smart horse.
Did you read my whole rant?
.
@LauraJ – I’m sorry too but I think the FBI or any Cops can do almost anything they want. They do it every day to US Citizens. They are the biggest organized gang in America, only the Military could stop them. Technology is a wonderful thing when it’s used for good. If they were using on you, you would never know. Regrettably, that is the case.
.
@ judy berube – Thank you. Hope you have a good one today.
.
@J Smith – You think Monmouth’s computer is down by chance or just the usual 3 to 8 hours like a lot of sites for maintenance, upgrades, or whatever? Maybe it crashed because so many people are trying voice their opinion or maybe thousands of people are trying to get box seats online, LOL. That’s how it’s going to start. When a site is down for a few hours nobody minds. I think most people would be patience and wait it out for a few days. What do you think would most likely happen if the whole net was down for 3 weeks or more everywhere in the land? I can tell you a couple of things, no ATM and no Credit Cards would work. For people living day to day or week to week, that might be a problem. For poor people it would be devastating. When any animal is hungry they will do anything to eat. We are all GOD’s animals too, we just happen to be top of the food chain, only because of our brains, not our brawn! There are a lot of Gangs in the Hood. I know I can’t fight them off at my age when I’m out numbered 20 or 50 to 1. When they get hungry and try and take what I got I guess I will have to fight. You can count on the Police to not help because they will be guarding the Grocery Stores or taking up defensive positions to keep what they got and survive. Look, if third world countries can shut down and sensor their net, then a 5th grader can do it in America. I would like think that our Government is smarter then a 5th grader. Throw in a few real bad people that want to take advantage of the situation and you have the perfect storm. It’s not if, it’s when.
.
@Joan – I think this is the first time we’ve answered each other’s posts on Zenny’s site. This cause is very important. I’m with you all the way and you can bet your a** I’m going to War against EVIL. Don’t worry I’m riding with ‘Private Malone’
.

.
@ Diana S – To quote the guy on stage in Washington D. C. when ‘Forest Gump’ made his speech and got unplugged, “You said it all, man!”
.
@Terry Crow – Sorry, it’s hard to laugh when I ranting.
.
@Sharon Call – I like the idea of a group. I would name it “The Invisible Group” I don’t give info to someone that might be the enemy like the news does. No, make them work for their information. They will never see us coming, by then it’s too late we win.
.
@Kari Bussell – Thank you, but I don’t pay bail, I do my time and have no paper on me when I get out. It’s far worse to let them control your life for years on probation or parole then to do six months or a year. I can do that standing on my head, LOL. Plus, you think I’m going to give them more money after they take my freedom away. Bail, Fines, Lawyers, Court Cost, Loss of Work, that’s like chasing your losses at the track. They are going to feed me, free medical, I would join every program they have, basically I would try to cost them as much as possible with a smile on my face. But just in case my Lawyers are ‘John Kenneth Zwerling’, ‘Joseph E. diGenova’, ‘Marvin D. Miller’, & ‘Sanford Z. Berman’ call the four horsemen and just mention my name, then let them know where I am.
.
@Trina Nagele – Thanks for the encouragement. High Hoof back at you.
.
@Anyone I missed – I will still be mad tomorrow so I will get back to you.

Now, that ‘She’ has been canonized to St. Zenyatta, we really have to conduct beeswax fitting a Saint.
I don’t know I’m kinda torn on the issue, in an ideal world, the lion sleeps next to the lamb, but we don’t live in an ideal world, in this world the big fish eat the little fish, big dogs sometimes eat little dogs, we’re not the largest animals alive but our tools are bigger & deadlier than athg they can throw at us, so we use what we want and destroy what has lost its value. I understand the passionate feelings of some here, but is it rational? May be offering those, who buy & sell horses for baby formular in some country, another way of making money. May be if surplus horses could find gainable employment, these practices would render themselves obsolete.

@Joan and All: Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue has a Stop Horse Slaughter Billboard Campaign. Wouldn’t it be great to have a billboard posted at the
Mountaineer Race Track. I have posted a couple of links below I hope they work. If not, just copy and past the url address and it should take you to the site.

@All, some great posts & idea’s today. Particularly liked the one that said, if you write one letter/email a day it will help. It sure will, and it only takes a short time. It can get overwhelming when u think about this stuff, but when u think in terms of 1 letter a day, that’s easy, and with all of us, that’s a lot of letters somebodies going to get.
Website for us – I think that’s an excellent idea. We don’t want to take over the lovely posts we read here, and we can post a link to it every so often for newcomers. It is pretty easy to make your own website, I know of wix.com (thanks to Mildly Offensive, that’s where she makes her horse websites & I think she is a young girl). But I’m affraid I can’t sign up for that, I just don’t have time to monitor it. Perhaps Joan via Mary has suggestions, or at least, sites we should check on a regular basis to update ourselves.
Most Definatly Zenyatta’s name should not be connected to any group type thing. It’s not for us to use her name, her team do many wonderful things & we don’t want to interfere with their good work.
Joans idea of ending letters/emails with RIP Deputy Broad or No Day Off (was that the filly’s name)? is a good one. Sometimes I think it’s better when letters come from individuals so that they are not considered form letters from a group. But just a discreet, No Day Off, at the bottom I really like. Pls correct me if that was not the name. As much as I’d like to honor Deputy, No Day Off is great, not only is it a horses name, but it’s a great ‘slogan’ there will be No Day Off until all horses are safe from the horrors of slaughter.
Another thing to remember is, as Kari & Evelyn pointed out, we have to ‘read the small print’. Some stories make you want to take immediate action, but u really have to do a bit of investigating to make sure there isn’t a hidden agenda. Personally I like Joan’s idea for a tv segment “connecting the bill and Senators Graham and Landrieu into it. If they can do an investigative piece on this horrible practice and then sit down with the 2 Senators and fill them in on what is really happening, bingo” see above for full post. So a writing campaign to 60 mins or ? would be good. Providing u have already written/called your Senator of course. Once that is taken care of, I would like something done to limit breeding, there’s just too many horses. Every year another 32,000+ TB’s, and then all the other types of horses! It’s just too many. Because if all these unwanted TB’s are stopped from going to Mexico & Canada for slaughter, that’s 1 heck of a lot of horses that are going to need homes. A cap on breeding will be a necessity.
Hope I don’t have nightmares, emotional reading today.

Barbara Grimaldi
Two questions: what type of license does a trainer need to practice? Who issues it–the state or the Fed? Same two questions for owners–do they need any kind of license to own and breed horses, and does that license come from the state or the Fed? I am doing many of the things suggested here but also trying to think outside the lines…this is a great group to work with. Zenyatta, you have changed my life, have given me such joy, and you have brought us here to love you and to work for the welfare of all horses. No other horse could take your place in my heart.
LauraJ
@Barbara Grimaldi, virtually everything to do with horse racing is regulated at the state level. All backstretch personnel–hot walkers, grooms, exercise riders, trainers, jockeys–are licensed by the state. Owners holding a certain percentage of a horse need to be licensed by the state, but only for racing. No license is required to own a TB that is not racing. In most jurisdictions, owners must own 5% before a license is required; in New York it’s 3% IIRC. In some places (e.g., WV), individuals that own a horse as part of a partnership/LLC don’t need idividual licenses.
LauraJ
@Anyone who wants to do something that will make a difference right now, these four horses need to be bailed out of a Nevada feed lot.

Valley View does one or two rescues a month, so if you can’t help now, help will be needed in the future.
