Dear Friends,

I hope all of you are doing well!

I have been blessed to have so many wonderful FANS in my life. I truly appreciate ALL OF YOU. I’d like you to meet my newest fan…one I have never met before in person. He is Karol Ballard’s dog, LEX.

In a video segment we showed months ago on how NINA (equine sculptor) took all of my measurements in detail to be sure she could reproduce my image to perfection…Karol is the woman who was working with her. This is her dog meeting ME!

To quote Nina, “Lex is paying homage to ST. ZENYATTA, as we call her!” How cute is this!

LEX is bowing down to really get a good look at ME! In my personal opinion, I think he also wants to PLAY!

    I have been in communication with Mary Johnson who began the tracking down of Deputy Broad. SHe has been involved in horse rescue and their sad fate for over 50 years. She is the one who spoke to Bird she was told I’ll take care of anyone who comes after me. He is not respected at Mount..SHe works very hard to try and save them, but it is alonely task. I have invited her to join us on
    this board and give us any advice she has going forward with this initiative.She knows where bodies are buried so to speak. She is a wonderful lady. I pray that this meets with your approval.If you don’t agree with me inviting het to assist us I can contact her and ask her to pull back. Joan

    @ALL- while we are on the subject of horrors done to horses….I was just wondering if any of you know which trainer has had the most breakdowns??….I do know the answer…I may get slammed for this because some of you are big fans of his. I have long wondered if you knew…..one of the many reasons Mr. Shirreffs is my hero…

    What we need and I said on the 60minutes thing, is to connect the bill and Senators Graham and Landrieu into it. If they can do an investigative piece on this horrible practice and then sit down with the 2 Senators and fill them in on what is really happening, bingo you have put it on the steps of the Senate and a national audience. Just a thought. WE CAN DO THIS, WE REALLY CAN. Why don’t we sign off with Remember Deputy Broad or RIP Deputy Broad as our name.Mount will sure know where we are coming from!!

    Back to some household topics, has anyone heard about Lil in KY’s surgery? Or her firend Catherine?
    Boy, Dawn Conrad will come back to a hornet’s nest here. But it’s a hornet’s nest that needs to be stirred up.
    Didn’t know about Sharon in Seattle, but I’m praying for her now.

    @judy berube. Yes, Bernie’s offspring have some mighty fine names. He has pictures of many of them on his website. They are very attractive horses. Undoubtedly, Z’s foul will be a real beauty. I think that Z may be the most beautiful horse that I have ever seen, and with a unique personality. She is amazing in every way.

    Mountaineer Contact – call & ask what their ship to slaughter policy is, it was suposidly implemented in 2008. Ask why it isn’t enforced. Try to be polite! Rose Mary Williams is in charge there 800 804 0468. Joseph Narcavish, Racing Secretary 304 387 8300. Email wouldn’t work for me. If ur on fb they have a page, I posted link about half way up. Like, say your piece & unlike. More detailed info posted on there page by posters.
    Local media – Herald Star, sport writer did a piece on WV Derby, ask why no story on Mountaineer trainer practices, Bill Mooney 704 283 4711. Also sport editors email, mmathison@heraldstaronline.com They have an online obituary section, I wrote an obituary for Deputy.

    @Kari Bussell–now we all want to know the name of the trainer. Is it one of the most famous ones? Can you say? I wouldn’t call it gossip if it’s the truth.I would have guessed Asmussen, but it would be only a guess. Needless to say, we all think the world of our John and Dottie. And with good reason.
