Good Morning to All~
Happy Tuesday! Everything is moving right along perfectly at the farm. I am able to go outside with my pal, Tasty Temptation, and relax for hours at a time. As you can see in the photo, I am just like so many of you. My coat gets ‘lovely high-lights’ from the sun and I do need to have my ‘sunglasses’ (aka fly mask) on when outdoors.
I must say, this mask is a fabulous accessory to have. Not only does it keep the flies off of my face and away from my eyes…but it also screens out some of the sun and direct light…which is quite helpful!
We have had really warm weather recently. I’ve heard that it is also quite warm back home in Arcadia (by Santa Anita). Dottie looked up the temperature for today and it is to be 93 degrees in Lexington. It is even a bit warmer than that in Arcadia. As I have mentioned before, Charles and the guys here monitor how hot it is for ME. If too warm, I am taken back to the barn where the fans are keeping it nice and cool. I must say, I am one very lucky girl!
It is also the first of the month and as MY TEAM requested, they weighed me. I am gaining just the right amount of weight for this stage of my pregnancy. YIPPEE! I am eating all of the right foods and drinking LOTS of water to stay properly hydrated….so this is all good! I’m really trying to do all the RIGHT THINGS here to be a GREAT MOM!
In racing, for many of the major race tracks, today is a ‘dark day’…meaning the tracks are closed. So for quite a few people who work with the horses, this is a more relaxed day and they have some time off. Whether going to the lake, to play golf, or to have fun in the ocean, I hope everyone remembers to be careful in the sun, drink lots of water, and wear your ‘sunglasses’….JUST LIKE ME!
Have a very pleasant day!
With love,
Hugs to All~

Zenyatta, nice picture, as always. I’m happy that you still get to have fun and hang out with your buddies in the warm weather-but not too warm. Your mask over your face sure does come in handy. I need something like that myself. I am happy that you are taking proper care of yourself-eating the right foods, drinking plenty of water, getting proper rest, etc…which benefits your unborn foal as well as you. Keep up the good work.
Lynn

Zenny, you look very chic in this picture. No other horse wears a fly mask like you do! It’s wonderful news about your pregnancy…everything seems to be right on target which is a great relief to all us “dumplings”. Tell Sarah we love the photos she takes. It makes your world and ours seem so much closer.

Dear Zenyatta I love the picture but I would not recognize you with the fly mask. That is so cool. Lane’s End is such a beautiful place. I am so happy you live there. I loved Kentucky it is ONE BEAUTIFUL state. I had a really good day and did not expect to. I am taking a class for school all week and thought oh no boring. I was wrong the professor is one of the best I have ever had. She is just excellent. I love the class :) I am learning a lot. I can take a lot back to my 5th grade. I have been getting my horsey ideas :) Well sweet Queen tell tasty Temptations hi for me. I hope you both have a pleasant cool evening. I love you Zenyatta. Hugs and Kisses, Shari XXXOOO
@ I loved the video of the baby with mom.
Margie
Hi Zenny, you look quite fetching in your fly mask, but you’re a beauty every second of every day, so no wonder. :-) I’m very grateful you are in such good health, doing all the right things an expectant mom should do, and with great people who take such good care of you. You always deserve the best of everything.
@Sharon Call – I was fortunate to see Pavarotti live here at the Hollywood Bowl many years ago. I swear the hair stood up on the back of my neck from his first note and stayed there until the end of the concert. I wept from the power of his voice and the emotion, and I didn’t understand a word of most of the songs. So, I think I know how he moves you, too.
@ Terry Crow – cracked me up – good one!
@JAG – California hugs to you.
@ Judy B and Maggie N – loved it, thanks!
@Zenyatta – I love you, sweet mama!
Barbara Wood
@Terry Crow–lol!
@Barbara Grimaldi–I think I”m going to throw up! That person should be banned from racing. I’ll help with the collection if needed. Disgusting!

@ Sorry Tasty Temptations Sarah beautiful picture of our Queen. Thank you :)
Sharon Call
@Margie. How lucky you are. I would have given anything to see him live. What an honor that would have been. I wept when he died and haven’t heard a voice since then that could touch his. A once in a lifetime talent – just like Z. I haven’t seen her in person either and probably never will but I bask in her spirit that emanates such good things.

@ Kari and Karen Happy Birthday ladies. TOO CUTE !!!!
Ingrid Arnone
My adorable zenyatta, you really look so relax, but you look so lonely, miss you, Ingrid.
Margie
@Sharon Call – it was an honor, indeed. His voice transports you to higher levels, and I can listen to him forever. I’m sorry you didn’t get the opportunity to see him, but I believe one day you will be eyeball to eyeball with Zenyatta. Don’t put that dream away. And when it happens, I hope you will feel as I did, suspended in time knowing that another living being has just connected to your heart and your soul, and is holding you lovingly in her magnificent gaze. I know I’m blessed to have experienced it. Your day will come…Zenny will wait for you.

too cute…………… I am smiling from ear to ear :-)

@Terry Crow: Haven’t read the joke yet. Just read about Danny Byrd. There is a phrase in aviation: “Check six” which means “watch your six o’clock position” when talking to a team member in formation; or “watch your ass” when warning a foe. Mr. Byrd should heed the later meaning.

Oh Zenyatta, I cannot begin to express the emotion which this photo elicits.

Hey Beautiful, you look so cute in you fly mask.
I read something about a movie being made about Mine That Bird and his Kentucky Derby win. The movie is currently in production and should be out by year’s end. Has anyone read or heard anything about this?

Love the picture Z !

Are Standout Female Racehorses a Passing Fluke or New Trend?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/786455-female-racehorses-making-bigger-impacts-passing-fluke-or-new-trend
“Of course, the first name which comes to mind is Zenyatta, the super-mare who lost only once in her entire 20-race career, and that being by a mere head. She became the first filly or mare to win the Breeder’s Cup Classic when she dominated in 2009 after defeating every mare thrown in her path.” :-D
“She won more than $7 million in purses, making her the most successful female racehorse in North American history, by earnings. She earned Horse of the Year last year after nearly taking the Breeder’s Cup Classic for the second year in a row.” :-D

@Barbara Grimaldi- I left you a comment at the end of #309…Also, the link you gave made me sick. I am a peaceful, fun-loving, non-violent person, but it scares me what I could do to people who could do that to a majestic horse or any living being.It must be stopped…..Count me in.
Kari Bussell
@JAG- Amen! :) :) :) :) :) :)
LOVE YOU GF!

Am I looking at a different picture? The pic I see is of a bay horse that doesn’t look like you! And this horse isn’t grazing! She’s walking through the grass with her fly mask! Did you get lost along the way? Oh, Zee, I want to SEE you!
