Hello Everyone,
It has been a very exciting morning. The final bid on the Breeders’ Cup Experience and a VISIT WITH ME was $11,200. I’d like to THANK and CONGRATULATE J. D. SWEENEY from SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, for this generous bid. These funds will go a long way to support and assist the V FOUNDATION in their efforts on behalf of cancer research.
I can’t wait to meet the Sweeney Party and personally thank them for their wonderful outpouring of support for this worthwhile cause.
It was interesting to listen to all of the updates on “Mike and Mike in the Morning”. Dottie got up quite early CA TIME so she could do so. Then during part of the program…which was hosted by Brian Kenney and Bob Valvano (Jimmy V’s brother)…they replayed a portion of a very famous speech Jimmy gave 7 weeks before his passing. It was March 4, 1993. In this inspirational speech, he introduced his concept to create the V FOUNDATION along with the assistance of ESPN.
Jimmy offered his drive, devotion to this topic, his hope, and his vision. ESPN granted their support to this endeavor via their time, money, and various efforts to enable the V Foundation to get started.
There were several key words and phrases Jimmy used repeatedly in this moving speech which can truly touch so many of us…no matter what is else is going on in our lives:
1) Each day try to LAUGH, THINK, and HAVE SOME EMOTION.
2) Be enthusiastic about things going on in your life…KEEP YOUR DREAMS ALIVE by working hard to try and make your dreams a reality.
3) Don’t give up….DON’T EVER GIVE UP!
These are certainly wonderful thoughts to reflect upon…no matter what you are doing!
I must say, I know one thing for sure. Each of these POINTS holds a very special meaning TO ME…and is also very symbolic to the way I tried to view my life and all aspects of my athletic career.
Point # 1…I really wanted to have FUN each day! I tried to make things unique and entertaining and add my own personality to the tasks at hand. I learned to dance…and did so whenever I could! I enjoyed every moment while at Barn 55 whether I was in my stall, relaxing, training or enjoying some treats while outside grazing and ‘hanging out’ with my pals. Additionally, I truly LOVED EVERY MOMENT I spent visiting with and sharing my daily activities and career with ALL OF YOU!
Point #2…I worked very hard to keep MY DREAMS ALIVE and make them a REALITY. 19 victories in a ROW! I still find this so special and have to literally pinch myself when I think about it. I was the ONE WHO DID THIS! ME, ZENYATTA!
Point # 3…This one is very dear to my heart and it definitely applied to ME during my racing career. No matter what else was going on…I always gave each task MY ALL….and I NEVER, NEVER GAVE UP!
Here’s to wishing each of you a very special day!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Dear Z Fans:
Do any of you remember Einstein, the smallest mini horse ever? Here is a slideshow of him. Some of the pictures, as you go along, look fairly recent. You can see the changes in him from photo to photo. He is still very, very tiny. Hugs, J.B.

Hi beautiful – love and sweet dreams, Baby Girl – you inspire so many people, and give so much good – we love you, Zenny, and thank you and Dottie and your team for always lifting our hearts and spirits – Love you, Sweet Girl!!

Wow, middle of the week already Zenny. Where does the time go? Congratulations to you on your record donation bid and congratulations to J D Sweeney.
@Barbara Wood and Sharon Call–Whew! I thought the same thing :) LOL Was going to share this with diastu on her email, eventually. But since you ladies admitted it in Zenyattasphere, I will too. How funny!
@Terry Crow–Make a little journal of your jokes and maybe Dottie can use them as a fundraiser of some sort :)
Went to the horse rescue today and spent some time with several horses before feeding time. William, the horse that my daughter and I are sponsoring, was too much fun today. He was very curious as I was filling his water bucket so I lightly squirted water in my hand and he lapped it up like a dog. TOO CUTE!
Goodness missed the latter part of #295 so here’s to a group hug for all.
Have a great evening Zenny, Teams Z and Z fans.
Lotsa love to all.

Hi Zenny: I loved today’s post. You have touched so many people, Zenny. Your words of wisdom are so true. Enjoy and appreciate each day. Embrace life and live each day to the fullest. As far as I am concerned you did win all 20 of your races. When you ran your last race, you showed thousands and thousands of us watching just what it means to put your whole heart and soul into the moment, giving it everything you’ve got!! When you do that–you can be sure you’ll never lose. Zenny, you were and still are amazing! Take care, Zenny.
Congratulations to the winner! What fun you will have!
DJ
To Khc: You win! Sorry the bet pays so little :) Other than myself, as I am always chewing the old shoe..I would guess Proverbs. But my very hope would be in Jeremiah 15:16…”I discovered Your words and I consume them. And Your Word to me is the gladness and joy of my heart. For Your name has been involked over me, O Lord, the God of hosts.

Good Evening Queen “Z, Congrats to the winner what a wonderful cause enjoy the Breeeders Cup!
Dottie love the post today. It is filled with such inspirtion and motivation to fulfil your dreams and be the best you can be. What truly great words.
I just got home from work tonight and I had my husband tape the Espy Awards. Wanted to see if Blame would win the Greatest Upset in 2010. He couldn’t even do that! Oh Well!
I been thinking and with all the awards you have one is missing. With the Moss connections to Hollywood, perhaps you should be considered to have a STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! I am sure all your fans (Dumplings including) would love to see that happen. Gee I wonder how this can be done. Maybe a movie first?
Wishing you a wonderful night.
Hugs and Kisses

In March 1965, when Martin Luther King, Jr., planned the historic march from Selma to Montgomery, AL, he was joined by several religious leaders. one of those was Rabbi Abraham Heschel who joined King at the front, leading the column of civil rights demonstrators. As they slowly marched through the streets of Selma, they were surrounded by hostile crowds who shouted obscenities and displayed banners expressing both racism and anti-Semitism. “Koons, Kikes and Blacks Go Home!” was the message. When the march
was over, Heschel and some companions went to the Montgomery airport, arriving both tense and hungry. Stopping at a snack bar to buy a meal, Heschel faced yet more hostility. The woman behind a counter expressed her disapproval of Heschel and his companions. Looking directly at the white-bearded Heschel, she spoke sarcastically: “Well, I’ll be darned! My mother always told me there was a Santa Claus, and I didn’t believe her, until now.” Heschel smiled at her and asked to buy food. She said there was none available. Continuing to smile, Heschel spoke softly and gently: “Is it possible that in the kitchen there might be some water?” The woman said there was. “Is it possible that in the refrigerator you might find a couple of eggs?” Again, she said yes. “Well, if you take the eggs and boil them in the water, that would be just fine.” Heschel said. The woman frowned at him: “And why should I?”
“Why should you? Well, after all, I did you a favor>”
“What favor did you ever to do me?”
“I proved there was a Santa Claus.”
The woman burst into laughter, a tense standoff was relieved, and the woman began to prepare meals for Heschel and his companion.

Please accept my condolences, I know how hard it is.
Medicines, don’t always help, I lost my Moe and his sister Petunia to grand mal seizures. Nastiest stuff ever. I miss all my guys.
Cancer research is important, it’s enormously expensive and there have been cuts, especially in lab research. It is not nearly as very well funded as it should be.
I sooner not use animals for research, but I guess the redemption is that it helps other animals to live. There is no ideal situation, there is no have it all. There’s always a price, trade off.
“Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission-
to be of service to them wherever they require it”. -St. Francis of Assisi-
“This radiant light of my presence is in all things, from the lowly weeds to the stately trees to the most opulent of our galaxies, far flung in space. The kitten curled up in your lap is as much part of me as the baby on your knee, and whatever you do to the least of one of these you do also unto me.”
We have to look out for everybody, find a good/fair balance for everybody.

Reflections from Abraham Heschel and there are many, but just a few:
* Appreciate every day and live in the present moment. Don’t take life in all of it’s simplicity and complexity, for granted. Heschel reminded people: Just to be is a blessing. Just to live is holy.
* Wonder rather than doubt is the root of knowledge.
* Morally speaking, there is no limit to the concern one must feel for the suffering of human beings or creatures, that indifference to evil is worse than evil itself.
* A religious is a person who holds God and man in one thought at one time, at all times, who suffers harm done to others, whose greatest passion is compassion, whose greatest strength is love and defiance in despair.
* We teach children how to measure, how to weigh. We fail to teach them how to revere, how to sense wonder and awe.
* God is of no importance, unless he is of supreme importance.
* We are not asked to abandon life and to say farewell to this world, but to keep the spark within aflame in order to reflect this light in our face and fellow man.

Goodnight and Sweet Baby Dreams. Love you, Judy and Russ
Barbara Wood
@Sharon Call and Kim S–LOL! As Zenny would say, “TOO FUNNY!”
@Barbara Grimaldi–welcome back.
@Sunny Boyd–my condolences for your losses.
I completely forgot to congratulate Mr. Sweeney on his winning donation. Hope we can get pictures.
Musing–if I go to the races wearing my Dumpling badge and take our daughter, does that make her the daughter of a dumpling? It’s getting late, and I’m completely off the rails. Good night all, especially you, sweet Z. Love you always.

Dear Zenyatta – I can’t thank you enough for your encouraging words. You bring me so much hope and inspiration throughout your racing career. I knew you were special the moment I saw you in the paddock at Hollywood Park on July 5th – it was my first live racing experience and oh what a memory. I never gave up hope that you would win all 19 races and didn’t even give up on you at the 2010 Breeder’s Cup. You were far behind but I had faith that you could pull it off in the second or inch of the race… I know it didn’t happen but I never lost faith in YOU!!!
In my life now you are hope – everyone seems to not have faith in me succeeding but I know I can do it. I have you as my inspiration, coach and my hero. You showed them how awesome you are every time you stepped onto the track. And now you are being recognized as the Super Star you are. For me, I will keep on moving forward and believing that I can do anything I put my mind and efforts towards. You are my Sunshine YOU make me happy when sky’s are grey – you’ll never know how much you mean to me.
Thank you for the encouraging words that always give me hope and put a smile on my face.
