Well, Hello Everyone!
I know it is Sunday and I hope you are all having a relaxing day. I am. I just wanted to share with you a YOUTUBE Sarah did of me. I’m really stretching my legs out in the snow and starting to feel wonderfully comfortable in my new paddock. She has it set to music. Be sure to notice my marvelous dance steps! I’m still being hand-walked…as it is chilly and they do not want me to do too much…like ‘take off’ and slide in the snow. I am having GREAT FUN!
I am also nice and cozy with my friends in the barn when it is too chilly or rainy outside. My racing plates were removed on Thursday. My feet feel fabulous!
Keeneland sent me a large gift bucket of carrots and mints. How generous of them! There is enough here for everyone in my barn. We are one very happy group!
I also have 2 other people at the barn who work with me. I’d like to introduce you to them…Craig and Gieremo. So, lucky me…5 wonderful people here looking after me every single day. Charles, Todd and Andy send their regards to all of you as well.
David stops by quite often. He called Dottie yesterday afternoon while he was here petting me. He just sent the Moss’ a text update. It is wonderful that we are ALL able to keep in touch so often. (Gotta’ love all of this modern technology!) John is now home in CA with all of my other Barn 55 Friends…but we are keeping in close contact. He knows what I am doing every single moment and shares the updates with Mario, Steve, Carmen and his entire crew! He played the video for them at the barn….and they all loved it! My dancing is still such a BIG HIT with everyone! I guess it all started with my rather musical name…ZENYATTA! When spoken out loud, it really has quite a nice rhythm to it!
Enjoy your day!
With love,
Hugs~

Another great post! It makes me very happy to know she is getting so much attention and that David saw her today. I know it must reassure Ann and Jerry Moss and all the barn crew. As for Christmas trees, I have one with nothing but glass ornaments, with the exception of one. That one exception is my Zenyatta ornament, which I won on eBay after some pretty competitve bidding. It was worth every penny. Makes me smile everytime I pass by it.

Wow what fun, a Zenyatta Christmas ornament!

The wonderful thing about retirement…. No work on Monday ! Stay warm baby and relax!

I really enjoy reading your updates. Hope your getting ready for the holidays.

what a treat it is to read these posts and know that the lovely Z is doing well and getting use to her new home. I’ve seen other posts from fans in Seattle. I’m in Seattle – is there an official fan club here in the Emerald City?? thanks to everyone who takes good care of our beloved Zenyatta!
Sandy
Thanks SO much to Jane in Seattle (one of my most favorite places – dear friends live there) for the info on how to access Zenyatta’s Facebook page! Sandy in Ohio

Hi Big Girl! Another post from you…it sure has made this dreary Sunday special.
I’ve been wondering how you’ll be able to stretch those gorgeous legs since bad weather has set in. Is there any chance your new peeps will take you to an indoor facility so you can jog and run a bit?
I’m so glad your friends at Barn 55 are staying in touch. They surely feel like family to us, too. Tell your 5 guys at LE they are the luckiest men in the world having YOU to care for.
Kathy
So glad to hear that you liked getting your racing plates off. I am relieved to know that you still have a nice variety of people taking care of you.
Jenn
So wonderful to hear from you so much, hope we can hear from you for years to come! Everyone is still in shock per se, that you are officially retired. We know, you still had another year to give us, but you have nothing left to prove to anyone…You are the BEST!!! Perhap’s you and Miss Rachel will have your race out in a pasture, while she is there!!! Have a sneaking suspicion though, that the two of you would just sit under a tree, and compare notes. You are both True Ladies! I am getting a package ready to send to both of your home’s, for you and your family! Be safe out there
Dolores Pshsnychniak
I hope you are really happy Zenyatta! Your going to love being in a paddock outside soon!

Happy Sunday Gorgeous Girl! It was 78 degrees is CA today! Not to rub it in, but I sure would love for you to be back in Hollywood so I could come see you again. I am so happy John is still so connected to what you are doing everyday. We know how much he loves you and it makes me feel peaceful that he was so involved in your move. Have a wonderful evening with your girlfriends. Wish I was there to hang with you gals.
Robin
Hi Queen Z!!! It was SO warm here in Cali today. Glad you are doing well and adjusting to it all. Miss you pretty girl! Stay warm and safe. Love you Z!! MUAH!

Hi Zenyatta, My Mom is letting me use this keyboard to write to you. I am a Husky, my name is Kenai and I just think you are the cat’s pajamas! I was rescued and am now living in hog heaven, kind of like you are as a matter of fact! Since knowing you my Mom has been giving me lots of carrots. At first I thought, what’s this?! but now since I know you like them I have grown fond of them too. Hope you get a barn dog some day, then life would really be complete! Well, good-bye for now, your friend, Kenai

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, I am so glad to hear they have plenty of people taking care of you and that John gets updated often on you. That makes me feel better about you. Zenyatta, you are so important to a lot of people and they want to make sure you are safe and sound in the cold weather. Maybe before long you can go out and be with your friends outside and run & play. I love you Zenyatta! Keep the posts coming. I enjoy them so much!
Love, Amanda

Zenyatta crew-have you ever thought of having a QIK type account? It is live streaming of whatever you wish….hopefully Zenyatta! It is also a place people can come back to later on to watch video of her. It used to be a free app on the IPhone but I haven’t seen it lately. Well, if anyone wants to see video of Zenyatta at Hollywood park on her last day just go to qik.com and type in soccertz1 to see my videos of her that day. I got a real close up with her a couple of times.
Jackie
Queen “Z” so glad to hear you are enjoying yourself. Sure sounds like the weather is quite harsh. Stay warm baby girl and please be careful you don’t slip. Certainly don’t want you to fall or lose your footing.
Thanks for the update. I look so forward to them plus all the articles I can find on the internet. I feel so connected when I am able to read about you and your connections. I have been following your career since your 7th race!
Hugs and Kisses!
jim
well z now all your california family have left you. now you are truly alone. no more dancing, treats, visitors and friends. they have abandon you. all they want now are your babbies so they can make money off them like they did you. this world is full of greedy people. they needs you no more. i will keep praying for you. god be with you
S
Anyone heard when the 60 minutes will air? Are they saving if for when our girl wins HOTY?
S
Jim, I don’t think you could be more wrong! Greed would have kept her running till she got hurt or just was used up. I don’t know the Jerry and Ann Moss personally but everything I have read about them leads me to believe they are wonderful people who we are blessed to have in the racing world along with John, Dottie and team. They don’t need the money, they did not have to give us access to her and I know few owners that travel with their mares or stallions to their new home.
John Hartley
Hello Z,
I saw you in 10 of your races..and I got to visit you at barn 55 on four occasions. I just want you to know that you have affected us so deeply…I want to thank you and all of your connections for allowing us to get close to you. It was very special for us, something that we will never forget (I have plenty of really great pictures that I am proud of). Please keep up with your updates as it is something I look forward to (I worry about you terribly!). Can’t wait to see video of you romping in you paddock….
Bye for now!

Hi Zenny! So good to hear from you Saturday AND Sunday!! So warms my heart to hear you are adjusting so quickly and happily. Be the best girl you can be, although I can imagine how much you are looking foward to roaming your paddock and playing with your girlfriends unattended. Just saw the most beautiful pictures of you in the snow on HRTV. Looking forward to seeing more. Its late and you’re probably already snucked snuggly in your cozy stall so sweet dreams sweet girl. We love you!!! xxoo
Lisa Dominguez
Never get tired of hearing how you are doing! Glad you are enjoying the snow and that every need is being taken care of you deserve the best Zenny!! Ca. loves you and misses you already.
Barbara Sanders
Getting your racing plates off must feel like taking off your high heels at the end of an evening of dancing. Pure joy. What happened to the Guinness that goes with the carrots and the mints? Are they keeping you slim for your new beau?
Anita
Hope you had a great Sunday, Zenny. I don’t think there could be a horse more loved than you are. Thank you so much for the update. Love & kisses to you.

Have been playing catch-up with videos of your final day at Hollywood and your Keeneland appearance. Hope you’re using the blankie they made for you to use in Kentucky. Zenyatta, you looked as beautiful as ever – hope all is well. Lotsa love,
Barb France
Z..Don’t ever stop dancing…stay happy and healthy! Thanks for the updates!
Rob Navias
Zenyatta….you are an amazing champion, the greatest filly ever. Enjoy Kentucky. Hope to see you soon. Be well.

Hi Lady Z,
I’m glad you’re having such a great Sunday!
I’m also glad they finally took off your racing shoes, now you really enjoy the snow and the grass under your feet! Did you know that Seattle Slew loved the snow? Yep. he loved to roll around it and get covered in it, then he would shake himself so hard that anyone within a ten feet circumference would be covered in it, then he would just take off running.:) By the way could you ask Dottie if she could add links to Backside55, the Breeder’s Cup (Zenyatta site), and the Zenyatta 2010 HOTY websites, they have some of the most beautiful and incredible pictures of you and I’m sure your fans as well as Team Z would love to see them! How’s Kitty and Sophie doing, oh we can’t forget Winston!!!
Have you been able to see/talk to Life is Sweet yet? If not, I hope you will soon. What are the names of your roommates or would that be invading their privacy? How about putting a video onsite introducing Team Z2, so that everyone can put a face to a name, that way we’ll know who you’re speaking of when you mention them in your updates (just a thought). Do you have you’re own cell phone to call Dottie, the Mosses, or Team Z1, or do they call you? I’m so glad you’re adjusting well and enjoying your new home so much, Lane’s End have yet to put you on their website, or a link to yours, do they plan to do that? What plans do you have for Christmas, it’s just around the corner you know, maybe some snow boots and a heavy winter coat (yes?). I’m sure that LE has an excellent dietician but do they know about the sweet potatoes? Are they going to put a TV in your stall so you can watch the races, maybe get to see Zardana, Harmonious, or Neko Bay every now and then (just a thought), has Mike called since the move or is he waiting until you get settled and both of you get past the separation phase? So many questions, did they tell you Giacomo was close by, maybe one day John will come down and take you to visit, wouldn’t that be fun!! Oh yeah, I hope you get to see your dad and brothers, that would be a great family reunion don’t you think? Tell David hi, as well as the entire team. Tell Steve that you wasn’t a hussy as a little girl, you were a diva in training learning how to use your ‘legs’. And baby girl you’ve got LEGS!!!! Talk to you soon, be warm and snuggly.
