Well, Hello Everyone!
I know it is Sunday and I hope you are all having a relaxing day. I am. I just wanted to share with you a YOUTUBE Sarah did of me. I’m really stretching my legs out in the snow and starting to feel wonderfully comfortable in my new paddock. She has it set to music. Be sure to notice my marvelous dance steps! I’m still being hand-walked…as it is chilly and they do not want me to do too much…like ‘take off’ and slide in the snow. I am having GREAT FUN!
I am also nice and cozy with my friends in the barn when it is too chilly or rainy outside. My racing plates were removed on Thursday. My feet feel fabulous!
Keeneland sent me a large gift bucket of carrots and mints. How generous of them! There is enough here for everyone in my barn. We are one very happy group!
I also have 2 other people at the barn who work with me. I’d like to introduce you to them…Craig and Gieremo. So, lucky me…5 wonderful people here looking after me every single day. Charles, Todd and Andy send their regards to all of you as well.
David stops by quite often. He called Dottie yesterday afternoon while he was here petting me. He just sent the Moss’ a text update. It is wonderful that we are ALL able to keep in touch so often. (Gotta’ love all of this modern technology!) John is now home in CA with all of my other Barn 55 Friends…but we are keeping in close contact. He knows what I am doing every single moment and shares the updates with Mario, Steve, Carmen and his entire crew! He played the video for them at the barn….and they all loved it! My dancing is still such a BIG HIT with everyone! I guess it all started with my rather musical name…ZENYATTA! When spoken out loud, it really has quite a nice rhythm to it!
Enjoy your day!
With love,
Hugs~

Love the updates, Z. Glad you are so happy. Look forward to more news soon. :)

It was 80 degrees in L.A. today. It is so hard to believe that it is almost a week ago that you left Southern California. The little trees on your old grazing ground must be missing you (although not your appetite for stripping their leaves!). Stay well and be happy. You will always be our treasure. No other horse will ever take your place in our hearts.
Maribel
Stay close to our hearts Queen Z for they are very empty without …YOU !! HUGs always ..luv to all in Kentucky XXXX

Zenny, sweet girl, your happiness makes all of us everywhere happy too – you are such a doll.
Laurie, thanks for all you do for the horses who need rescue in Maryland. Know Zenny has inspired so many people to do more for horses, and to help the horses everywhere – we love them all.

Yes Lady Z, your name is melodic. We have a line dance called Zenyatta’s Waltz, done in your honor.

Hi Sweetheart!! Do you realize how you make EVERYONES day just a bit better ( & A LOT better for most)? I love the photo with you , in the snow, with John & the Mosses. That Black blanket with the red straps was absolutely STUNNING on you. Your legs were a bit hidden, but the bit exposed were tantalizing. I’m sure all the boys are talking ‘nonstop’ since your arrival. But, as Mike expressed, I can’t imagine anyone good enough for you.
Hope you gals have a lovely gossipy evening tonight ( in between your average 3-4 hrs. of sleep you require. I can’t BELIEVE that is all you need!!).
Love you , sweetie. XXXOOO Sue
Terri
So glad to hear you’re enjoying your new home, Z. I look forward to coming home and reading your posts every day. Thank you and big hugs!

Hi sweet girl!! Give my thanks and well wishes to all your new friends there..they are sooo special!! Sounds like you just love being with them and that indeed makes me happy!! Enjoy your new found feet freedom!
It is snowing like crzzy here in Owensboro with 30 mile an hour winds! I know you must be seeing some snow too..it’s fun to run in but NOT fun to drive in..all the schools are out her tom! I still have to get where I’m going though so I dread it!! Seems early in the season to be having such weather..let’s hope it doesn’t get worse!! We are suppose to get 2 ft of it if the system from the North moves lower…EWWWW!
I’m glad you enjoy it and have Kitty there with all your barn friends! Spring will come again and such a new beginning for you!
You sleep tight tonight and have sweet dreams of all your fans in CA..they sure love you as I know you love them! They’ve got your back and that’s what counts! Til tom…you and me…under the moon..over Ky.
Kimberly
Glad to hear you’re doing well big girl! I never cared for horseracing until YOU came along and changed all that! You are an amazing animal!! Wish you were back here in sunny California!
Leslie
Dear Z… that is SOOOO nice of you to keep us updated! I would expect you would have taken Sunday off! I hope you don’t stress yourself too much by feeling you have to write us all the time. Of course I and everyone else LOVES it, but I don’t want you wearing yourself out either. After all, I want to hear from you over the years so don’t burn yourself out up front! Maybe you are just helping us through our Zenyatta withdrawl!! That’s nice of you!
I’m glad you’re warm, getting goodies, and being safe. You’re a doll….

Hello Beautiful!
Just a note to Sandy and all your admiring friends who aren’t on Facebook (I’m not either). Happily Zenyatt’as team has made her Facebook page available to the public. (Gotta love them.) Just go to the home page here at Zenyatta.com and click on the Facebook link on the upper right. You can see all her pictures and videos there, you just can’t comment. Same with Backside55.com and their facebook page – another great treasure trove of Zenyatta and her friends. Also Mike Smith’s facebook page – go to mikesmithjockey.com and click on the blue F.
Have a wonderful evening Z, and keep posting! You can see we just need to know how you are.
Thanks to all involved =-)

Hi Z, just take those baby steps for now. I don’t want you to slide in the snow. Say “Hi” to your new human friends. It was nice of you to share your gift of carrots and mints to your friends at the barn. Luv ya and will always pray for your health and happiness.
Jenna
I know your new friends have already fallen in love with you, how could they not. I am so happy you’re on the right side of the country..we Easterners can share the love now.
What’s that song? Zenyatta, Zenyatta, I love ya, Zenyatta, you’re only four states a-way.
I’m in Massachusetts :>
Nighty night, lady.
Big kiss.
Ann Maree
Hey, Z-girl. Each day that I hear how well you are doing and all the wonderful attention you are receiving, I am so very happy for you. I just was wondering if your old friend from your first home, Don Robinson, has come to see you, yet. I know he’s proud of you and cares about you a lot. Anyway, can’t wait to see videos when you get to run all by yourself in your paddock! I have had a vision in my head of seeing you galloping free and having fun ever since it was announced that you would retire. So, I can wait until you are used to the different footing and maybe when the snow has cleared out so you don’t get excited and have to learn to ice skate! Hugs! Your friend, Ann Maree

Dear Zenyatta and family, It is hard to believe it has only been a week since your farewell at HP. I am so glad I went! It was awesome to see you in person, hopefully not for the last time!! Last week I was working in Colorado….this week in Seattle, thankfully this time I have internet access to check for updates. It was so good to have your website come up this evening. I wish my horses could stay in touch this way too!
I’m sure it is very quiet at Barn 55 without you and everyone is missing you like crazy.
When I used to take my mare to get bred, she was always excited to go but after being bred she would wait for me to come get her and I always did. I hope you grow to love where you are and don’t wait for Team Zenyatta to come get you. (Although I wish you could just get bred in Kentucky and come back to California to foal)
I too hope to be able to see the first time you are turned loose…. there is nothing more beautiful than a horse moving free!
Thank you Dottie for speaking for Zenyatta. These posts are treasured.

Hello Zenyatta, I am glad you are happy with your new home. I miss you here and I’m still not quite use to your new career but I love you so much and I feel like we are friends, so what ever you do I know you will be amazing…and whoever writes your dairy for you has brought out the beautiful young woman in you that I always knew was there. I believe Johns training you was a blessing, he loves you and he put his very best in you and what a beautiful soul you both are. I got a picture of you and Mr. and Mrs. Moss and John off facebook today, you are so tall over them all, Such a Ladie…anyway, I made it my screen saver on my computor…You are all beautiful. I will write you again tomorrow, I do everyday:)
God Bless you Zenyatta. I love you.

Good Night, Zetty
Racing Plates are a certain material, mainly aluminum, that is being glued to the horses existing shoes. Kind of a shock absorber. Glue is being used, in case the horse should lose the plate, it presents less of a problem than pulling a nail.

Happy to hear you are doing great. Please keep the daily diary messages coming. And keep dancing. Love you. Hugs and kisses back to you.

Just checking in to add my dose of love & hugs being sent your way. Can’t wait to see pictures of you doing a “Snowdance”. Stay safe & warm. BE HAPPY

Well Z a week has come and gone, it sure went by fast. Hope your injoying the new home. Sounds like your new human friends are loving having you there, just be sure they keep us up to date as well or will get them LOL!!! I can not wait for you to get out and about, and having your shoes taken off must of felt soooooooo good :) We still are missing you. Thought about you yesterday when ZAZU ran, she did not fair to well, but I still love her as well. I hope you get to see Life is Sweet soon, it’s hard to think she has been gone now for a bit. Any word on if you will get to see your Mommy? what a great photo that would make. I do hope they will post photos of you on here, it would be so nice. Look forward to the next post. Have a nice night Z we love you.

I wonder once you settle down, you could learn a shtick or two? You being such a ham, and a smart people mare, maybe ur people could teach you to steal Guinness and guzzle it out of a big plastic cup container which you pick up with your mouth. Or munch flowers off sby’s hat, maybe you could be in the Rose Bowl Parade on a float!! You’re such an entertainer.

Hi Zenny! Happy Sunday. I just sent you a note on yesterday’s post. I didn’t think we would be hearing from you again today. What a nice surprise! So, you aren’t wearing any shoes! Is it that you just took off your racing shoes and will now wear regular shoes? I don’t know much about this. It seems like all of us are really looking forward to seeing you running free in your paddock. Maybe one of your new friends will take a video when you are let off the lead for the first time. That would be awesome. I join your other fans in thanking you and Dottie for all these wonderful updates! As you can see your posts are very appreciated. Love, Linda

@Ann Maree..that is so interesting. I recently met Don Robinson at a party in Lexington when I was there for the WEG. He told me he had Zenyatta’s half sister, I think. We talked about you, Zenyatta. He and his wife were very nice. He was excited when I told him I was a big Z fan. We struck up a conversation around the buffet table.. small racing world…

Zenyatta, great to hear from you today. Your post was not here when I left for the symphony and when I got home I headed right to my computer and got this wonderful post from you. What a wonderful way to end my day. Do you have a Christmas tree??? You could have horse decorations on it and photos of yourself. (*_*) You have so many new friends and that is just grand. I know they love you already. You are just lovable. Everyone loves you. It is late your time so you have probably gone to bed. Rest well, be warm and have sweet dreams. I love you!!!xoxoxox

Happy for you Z. We need to know how your doing. We worried about you so much because we all love and admire you so. Keep the good words coming. Hope to see a picture of you soon. Love, Love, Love.

Thank you for keeping us in the loop, sweet girl! As Steve said, you’re the “people’s horse” now, and it’s still hard to let you go. I only hope you’re adapting to this change better than we are. Give Dottie and everyone our thanks for sharing your wonderful, unending story!
Margaret Murphy
Hey Z I’m ordering another picture of you for my room. It’ a portrait of you. I’m going to place it right next to the great Secretariat. What a match you two would have made. I miss seeing you race. I watch them on videos now and think of the exciting times you gave us. I always had to catch my breath when you crossed that finish line. Your the greates ever Z. Love you.
Virgil Fox
Thank you for the updates.
I’m just a fan, but it’s hard letting go.

Planning on going to Lexington when Keeneland begins racing and hope to see you while I am there. Never been there before but because of you I will definitely be going.
