Happy Thursday,
The weather is continuing to be very pleasant here in Lexington. I am outside quite a bit these days with my pal, Tasty Temptation. We are having such a great time together and are both doing very well.
As a matter of fact, David stopped by to visit last night when leaving the office, and called Dottie and John to tell them how AMAZING I LOOK! Blush, Blush! He said my friend, TT, also looked wonderful!
One of the visitors that accompanied Jim Rome to see ME on Friday was Rex Chapman. Rex is from Kentucky and played basketball for UK as well as in the PROS. It was so much fun to visit with these guys as I really do love all sports. Being that both Rex and I are professional athletes, we have a great deal in common.
What is truly adorable…is the photo above! Rex and Jim are taking a picture of ME while Sarah is taking a picture of them. They are in their ‘let’s get a terrific photo of Z poses’. Gotta’ love this!
I would imagine, this is something which happens much more than one would think when people are taking pictures. I used to see this all of the time when I was at BARN 55. The fans would be taking pictures of ME…and MY JOHN ultimately has lots of pictures of them all taking MY picture. It just kind of happens!
As a matter of fact, the other afternoon Dottie was at BARN 55 and she noticed my little sister, Eblouissante, doing something in her stall which reminded her so much of ME! (I guess ‘E’ and I do have several mannerisms which are very similar.) In this particular instance, ‘E’ was resting her head on top of the haynet and looking around the barn watching everything going on. I used to do this, too, all of the time. In truth, I never wanted to miss a thing!
Well, at that moment, the same type of thing happened. MY JOHN captured the photo of Dottie taking a picture of “E”….just like Sarah did with Rex, Jim and ME!
So many things that happen like this just make ME smile. I would imagine if you look through your family albums and photos, you’d have several of these types of shots as well. People can be TOO CUTE in so many ways!
I hope you enjoy the photos of my pals, Jim and Rex, ME, my adorable fans,
and my darling 2 year old sister, ‘E’.
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Have a FUN DAY…and SMILE!)

Zenyatta, all the picture taking is the result of you being such a fabulous horse. Jim Rome and his buddy Rex, who played at the University of Kentucky and has since gone pro, were taking pictures of you so they’d have something by which to remember their visit to you. I’m happy that you are enjoying the nice Kentucky weather and the great outdoors. It does sound like you and your sister Eblouissante are similar in so many ways. That’s normal for brothers and sisters and all relatives. Great pictures, as always. Have a nice 4th of July. I hope they feed you a feast fit for a king or a queen on that day. Enjoy the fireworks.

Well, I’ve let everyone say it for me.
@Ana. For heaven’s sake, if you don’t like it, don’t read it. It’s as simple as that.

Zenny…you are one of a kind, so regal and intelligent. We love this photo within a photo because it captures so much about you. Your admirers tell us a great story with their lenses…yes, it is all about YOU!

@Judy MG
I’m glad you said it about those gorgeous legs of Dottie’s! I’ve admired that about her for so long, never knew how to bring it up! Thanks! BTW – Dottie also has the most beautiful blue eyes – wish she didn’t “hide” them so much behind those glasses – just beautiful!

Hi Zenyatta, your sister is just as beautiful as you are…goodness, the genes in your family! I can’t wait for your little one to arrive. Love ya Z!
Lucia
Looking good Zenyatta! :) By the way, is “Team Z” a fan of Harry Potter? I, for one, CAN’T WAIT till July 15th!! Who else is with me? Thanks for making my day better, as you always do!

Wow,”sugary” I think not. Pleasant and very endearing to a great deal of fans. I am so wondering what sours a person to make negative comments on a site that is for lovers of Zenyatta and fans of horseracing. Whatever thanks to Dottie and I love all of it.

Bonus today, three photos, YOU, Ebby and Dottie. You, Zenny, are surrounded by people who just love to take pictures of you and we, your extended family, get to enjoy them. Today William and Kate arrived in Canada, just in time for Canada Day tomorrow. Victoria would love to see them but they are not going to be in our part of the country so we will stay home. For anybody who loves to read, and is planning a restful weekend, I would recommend “The Kingmaker: How Northern Dancer Founded A Racing Dynasty” by Avalyn Hunter and “The Horse God Built. Secretariat, His Groom, Their Legacy” by Lawrwnce Scanlan.
Enjoy the good weather Zenny. Hugs and Kisses and Happy Canada Day.

Zenny,
You are the best, as always.
So many Photos and shared moments. I’m just so happy that you have caring and talented staff to help type and post the photos here. Love it so much! Thank you all.
Karen
E does look so much like you! With her face turned away, she looks identical.

Ana, those of us on this site LOVE Zenyatta and are thankful that we get to keep up with her after retirement. Stallions are easy to keep track of, mares disappear and the only time you hear of them is if they have a winning descendant or if they die in childbirth. One of the reasons we love Zenyatta as much as we do is because of the people who have cared for her and allowed the public to as well. So I wonder – why the snide comments? The world is harsh enough, it’s nice to find somewhere with people who share an interest that is bonded in love.

Dear Signofthetimes:
You asked if anyone had heard anything on Liberian Freighter. Just noted he is in the 6th race at HP on Saturday, July 2nd; One Mile on the Turf. Hugs, J.B.
Dani
OMG – Rex Chapman. He use to play for the Washington Wizards. He was one of my favorite players. What a small world.
Thanks for all the photos of Zenyatta. I haven’t been posting much but I read the diary everyday. It’s wonderful to hear Z is doing so well – blossoming into motherhood. I hope all of Team Z, CA and KY are doing well.

Hello gorgeous girl. You sure are popular. I went to visit Three Chimneys farm today and my stepfather wore the Zenyatta hat I gave him for Christmas. As soon as our tour guide, Sue, laid eyes on him she yelled out “Oh I love your Zenyatta hat. Can I have it?” Several other people on the tour then started talking about how much they love you. And Sue commented on his hat at least three more times. When I left I told her about your diary and she wanted to know how to get on it. You are so loved, Zenny. People from everywhere from all walks of life love you because you are just so, so special. And you are also TOO CUTE! I love you, Zenny! :-)
@Ana – This website is for people who love Zenyatta and love horses. It’s always very positive, and we do not need someone negative and hateful like you on it. I’m sure no one’s forcing you to read this, so why don’t you do us all a favor and just go away!!!
Joan Walls
Zenny – You just make me Smile. You are TOO CUTE. You make everyone want to bring out the best in themselves and in others. You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you. Love and many, many hugs and kisses. Joan

My sweet Z; Yes! It is comical when all these pictures occur.hee, it can be funny.
I just love seeing pictures of you!! I was driving back home only 20 miles away when I looked off, because it is a quarter horse farm. I thought of you immediately, when I saw a mama and her foul, the mama beginning to canter and the foal right close by her side. Your experiences will be so awesome Z!!
love you with 2 kisses on your soft nose.
@ all the “Lucy & Ethel” friends. I was notified since my computer was down that there has been conversations about friends, like “Lucy & Ethel”. What a scream!!! hee hee Isn’t it great to have a friend like that!! ha ha
Although, depending on the circumstances, Lucy could be Ethel and visa versa!! hee hee. Something always seems to happen!! Our last episode occurred at the 2010 “Race for the Ages” at Oakland, where Rachael would be involved with the race with Zenyatta. We, with husbands had gone there. Well, I better stop there until I get the okay from my other. But it was innocent I swear!!
