Happy Thursday,
The weather is continuing to be very pleasant here in Lexington. I am outside quite a bit these days with my pal, Tasty Temptation. We are having such a great time together and are both doing very well.
As a matter of fact, David stopped by to visit last night when leaving the office, and called Dottie and John to tell them how AMAZING I LOOK! Blush, Blush! He said my friend, TT, also looked wonderful!
One of the visitors that accompanied Jim Rome to see ME on Friday was Rex Chapman. Rex is from Kentucky and played basketball for UK as well as in the PROS. It was so much fun to visit with these guys as I really do love all sports. Being that both Rex and I are professional athletes, we have a great deal in common.
What is truly adorable…is the photo above! Rex and Jim are taking a picture of ME while Sarah is taking a picture of them. They are in their ‘let’s get a terrific photo of Z poses’. Gotta’ love this!
I would imagine, this is something which happens much more than one would think when people are taking pictures. I used to see this all of the time when I was at BARN 55. The fans would be taking pictures of ME…and MY JOHN ultimately has lots of pictures of them all taking MY picture. It just kind of happens!
As a matter of fact, the other afternoon Dottie was at BARN 55 and she noticed my little sister, Eblouissante, doing something in her stall which reminded her so much of ME! (I guess ‘E’ and I do have several mannerisms which are very similar.) In this particular instance, ‘E’ was resting her head on top of the haynet and looking around the barn watching everything going on. I used to do this, too, all of the time. In truth, I never wanted to miss a thing!
Well, at that moment, the same type of thing happened. MY JOHN captured the photo of Dottie taking a picture of “E”….just like Sarah did with Rex, Jim and ME!
So many things that happen like this just make ME smile. I would imagine if you look through your family albums and photos, you’d have several of these types of shots as well. People can be TOO CUTE in so many ways!
I hope you enjoy the photos of my pals, Jim and Rex, ME, my adorable fans,
and my darling 2 year old sister, ‘E’.
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Have a FUN DAY…and SMILE!)

Sarah Powell—-Thank you so much
I believe you are right, Ana does need a guinness, or maybe 2 or 3, since she is especially cynical & mean about our great Queen. It’s ovious she is NOT an animal lover, I pity her.

Hi Zenyatta. What wonderful pics – you look so gorgeous and your sister – wow, the spitting image of your beautiful self!! Looking so forward to her on the race track. And perhaps 2015 or 2016 to see your baby – yea. Enjoy the beautiful weather, eat well for two, enjoy your grazing and talks with TT and your time with your adoring fans. Love you, Angel in Disguise.

@Bernie–Agree with you. if you want to be entertained, this is the place.@Karen Gogue-I wish I could remember all of the jokes, too. Of course, I’ve had a lot more time to forget them than you have.@Charlotte Farmer-Meeting Mr. Parke’s son, wow. I am sure that is very special for you.@DJ-I can hold my tongue no longer. Here is today’s joke–A cowboy goes into a bar and has a beer. He then walks outside and finds that his horse has been stolen. He walks right back inside the bar and fires his gun into the ceiling. “Who took my horse”, he yells. No one answers. The cowboy then says “All right. I’m going to have one more beer and if my horse isn’t outside by the time I’m finished, I’m going to do the same thing I did in Texas.” He drinks the beer, walks outside and discovers that his horse is back. He mounts the horse and prepares to leave. Before he clears the hitching post, the bartender walks out of the bar and says “Hey, Pard,I’m curious. What did you do in Texas?” The cowboy then says “I had to walk home.”

PLEASE “Z FAMILY”,
If you have not done so already, please take a moment to support The Humane Society’s ‘Hope for Horses’ Amendment and do your part to stop the slaughter of over 100,000 US horses every year. Our beloved horses are being carted to Canada and Mexico’s slaughter houses to be used for human consumption. Make a Difference…I just did! Thank you Khc.

To Terry C: You’re up with the crows this morning! Great joke for the day. Make sure you vote for the Horse Slaughter Amendment or I am going to have to finish my beer! No…. it’s too early for that, I guess I will have to do the same thing I did before. Repost it!

@Terry Crow, Oh I love this one. HA HA

To J Smith & DJ: Thank you both for kicking the can along .. . The US Senate now considers a precise bill [#1176, the ‘American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act’] to END the transport & market from this country across borders north and south and then abroad. Small keys to reversing the lock-down these trusting, more-often-than-not healthy, trained creatures face can be legislated and Mary Landrieu, D-La., lent her life-love of horses to her introduction; see HSUS, ‘Hope for Horses–With Your Help’ provides a form for access to your Senators by phone &/or your own note: https://secure.humanesociety.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=5095&s_src=waynesblog. ~ “.. . this practice is appalling to me, and more importantly, the majority of Americans oppose it,” she said. It is co-sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. [More Information on the passage of this bill is in HSUS`s newsletter of June 30, 2011]. FB links to this page as well.

@DJ–done deal. I called one Senator and e-mailed the other. The thought of horse slaughter (not to mention the phrase “unwanted horse”) is abhorrent to me. I hope we deluge them with calls, letters, and e-mails.

@Linda in NJ — Wonderful! We will be in the HP Turf Club for Gold Cup Day — should be a great day. Hopefully we will see you there.
Sarah Powell
@ DJ took care of messages to my senator
@ Rachael – I’ve got horses that lead wonderful lives and no one rides them – sometimes it’s just about giving them a home, care and love to pay back all the previous rides!!
@Lil in KY hope you are having a better day – be sure and keep us updated.

Dear DJ:
I sent the e-mail set up on the link you posted and then I e-mailed both of my Senators and my Congressman asking them all to cosponsor the Act and stop the slaughter.
Hope all of us together can stop the slaughter of our treasured horses. Hugs, J.B.
