Hello Everyone,
I have been one very busy girl of late. In addition to my normal activities each day at the farm, I have recently hosted a few visitors. Last Friday, Jim Rome, who nationally hosts several sports talk programs on radio and television, happened to be in Lexington on business. One of his stops was at Lane’s End Farm.
The cute part is that he asked if he could visit ME!
While we were spending a bit of time together, Jim ‘tweeted’ to his fans…”I’m here, kicking it with THE QUEEN.”
I must say, Jim was also very, very kind in his comments about ME. He is a great fan of racing and is a big supporter of our sport! When someone commented that I was the 2010 HORSE OF THE YEAR….he quickly responded that in his mind I was HOTY more than just one year.
What a guy! I am extremely flattered! (Blush, Blush!)
It is truly a great feeling in life when you hear that your hard work and efforts are respected, appreciated, and recognized by others. His kind words really made ME feel so proud and very special!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

@Librarian. I believe it’s added to the saddle cloth, but don’t chip that in a stone.
@Judy Berube. Sometimes I feel like I should pay you a “per link” fee. This one works just fine, as all of your links do. Thanks!
Kathy Kimber
@Terry Crow: Loved yesterday’s joke.
The book “Etched in Stone” is wonderful and a great buy lots of great history and great pictures.

Dearest, Zenyatta. Sarah has done it again, what a beautiful photo. I just love seeing you standing tall and gazing into the distance as you do. How nice that you had some special company, particularly from someone who understands how amazing you are. You should be proud and most definitely feel special. You are the horse of a lifetime!!!!! Love you so much Zenny. When I think of you I just reach out and give #19 a pat, it makes me feel connected somehow. Of course the greatest hope is to someday be standing were Mr. Rome is standing now and giving you that pat in person. Aah. . . to dream. Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO
@Sue Fredrick – Ok, I think the battle is over before it even began. I checked out the picture at Keenland (which by the way, how amazing that you were there that night, it must have been so emotional). Anywho, yes your friend and you make the perfect Lucy and Ethel. You have seen me, and my friend is often mistaken for my sister, so lets just say we are more on the curvaceous side. Don’t you like that description? So, you win gorgeous Lucy!! By the way, I also loved the sign!
@DJ – Wish I had know about the garlic fries when I was at HP. They sound yummy.
@Kari Bussell – So glad you found such a wonderful home the piano. It’s tunes will now ring out in the praise of God, what could be more beautiful than that.
@Abigail in Montreal – They always say that when God closes a door, he opens a window. In your case, I think those windows must be the size of plate glass ones. I always say how wonderful the possibilities of each day are. Like a butterfly in a cocoon, those marvelous words you had hidden inside are now vibrately alive and floating on air for all to see and appreciate. Thank you again for sharing with all of us! And thank you also for the Sea of Stars video!
@Shari – Hello beautiful lady!! Can you believe we will be in Kentucky in just two weeks!!!!! Hope everything is wonderful with you.
@Librarian – Thank you for the suggested eating establishments. Shari and I will have to check them out. I have visited the two historic places you mentioned and enjoyed them both very much.
@Sue Noel – Everything is fantastic with me. Hope likewise for you, always so great to hear from you.

Does anyone know what address to send something, say a picture, to in order to have Mike Smith and John Sherriffs autograph it? That would be awesome if someone could tell me! Thanks!

You are Horse Of The Century Z. Sure will be glad when LE lets you have visitors. I noticed yesterday a lot of you were making perdicitions on the DOB of your foal.So last night I looked for a book my grandfather gave me back in the 50’s. It is called Dana’s Breeder’s Memorandum. I have used this book in regard to breeding and birth date for my cattle operation, and it is usually very accurate. According to this book if our Queen was bred on April 3,2011 she should give birth on March 5, 2012. Next year we will be able to see if it is correct. Have a great day Z.

Dear Lisa g.:
Thanks so much. I have been checking his web site, but there was no update. I guess I should start checking every week too. Love that colt. Hope he continues to do well. Hugs, J.B.
Sharon Passmore
I sure wish the farm would allow fans to visit. This artist/photographer is only a 4-hour drive away. It would mean the world to see Zenyatta in person.

Horse of the Century is more like it!!
You are the best girl
Love hugs and kisses

@everyone who answered Liza G. Fly’s appeal: Thank you so much. You have been wonderful, and Liza will be able to complete that second CD—with the famous “Zenyatta” theme song as the centerpiece.
Lisa g
@JB, I too love that colt, there is something in his cute little face and how he acts that just brings out my maternal instincts…I call him my Baby Boy. Some past pics of him made me cry, today’s video..so excited even if it is a jog..he is coming back. His updates are far between, not everybody can have a Dottie.

@Lil from KY. You are right, optimistic is correct. Isn’t it funny how words look sometimes? You know you’ve spelled them correctly, but they just don’t look right. A few diaries ago, I had the worst time with misspelled. It still doesn’t look right but it is. Oh, well!
