Good Morning,
I wanted to give you an update on HOW I AM DOING! I am eating very well…no surprise there…and enjoying myself tremendously. My number of treats is being monitored (as it should be) and I am drinking lots of water each day and nothing else.
As you can see, I do have a bit of a BABY BUMP. I am HAPPILY gaining a few pounds…right in the middle. As many of you may know from your own personal experiences, this is what happens when you are having a baby!
In the responses, many of you have asked about my actual breeding date. It was on April 3rd. Time is flying by so quickly. Another fun fact to note is that my paddock pal, Tasty Temptation, was also bred on the very same day. She was bred to Candy Ride and is also in foal.
Thus, Tasty T. and I have a great deal in common. We are both experiencing the exact same stages of our pregnancies together.
In looking at this photo, the clouds look amazing in the background. The sky is gorgeous…and the Kentucky Blue Grass is so lush. My friend, Matt, also looks good! He is so sweet and I so appreciate the fact that he will spend the one-to-one time grazing me like this!
As for ME, I think I look pretty terrific in this picture! (Blush, Blush) My coat looks fabulous, my dapples are glowing and I do think my overall appearance is TOO CUTE!
I’ll keep you posted and updated on what I’m doing as we go along. I’m still very busy with my friends and all of my charity work! The other day Lane’s End told ME that I recently raised $8,500 for a charity named RIDING FOR HOPE. ($2,500 for one of my halters and $6,000 for a visit with ME!)
This organization is one that “is dedicated to improving the quality of life and the health of children and adults with special physical, cognitive, emotional and social needs through therapeutic activities with the horse”. **
I am so grateful to be able to HELP!
This concept of further developing your life in the midst of having a second career, in my case…having a baby, is quite gratifying! I am really trying to use my time wisely to help others and to do my very best to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

I was thinking about you today. LOL…I think of you every time my cell phone rings. The default ring is the song “Zenyatta” by Lisa Fly. Love it! Have a great day Zen!

Any news about you and Baby Bump is deeply appreciated. Thank you!

Gonna sneak some of this in from work – uh oh!
Zenny & Dottie: The “ripple effect” really applies here. You do such wonderful work for charities of all kinds, then open this blog up for fans, and guess what? I bet every single person on this site has made a donation to a charity that they may not have otherwise made because of being gently prompted to do so by the Z Family here. We’ve donated for fire victims, flood victims, animal rescues, special needs children, retired race horses, and donated our love and uplifting support to each other and those on this list struggling with life issues. All this incredible positive outreach because of – YOU, Beautiful YOU, Beautiful BOTH OF YOU!
@sue fredrick, dawn conrad, judy berube and other Ethel and Lucy contestants – I’m a “Thelma and Louise” kinda gal. Would you like me to judge? :-)
@All Z-ers who will be in So Cal on 7/9. I hope you consider this an open invitation to join “Dumplings Annonymous” at HP that day. I’d love to meet all of you. @Linda in NJ – it’s a friendly place. If you’d like a club house table, there are some other of us that might also and we can take turns walking to the walking ring and winner’s circle. Karen Gogue will tell us the meeting spot.
@Dr. Gerard, I am glad I’m not where you are right now – getting a final judgement.
@everybody – I have so much more. Talk to you tonight!
diastu in tempe (115 yesterday, some clouds keeping it a cool 113 today!)

@ Ingrid in MA, about your post from # 283, what a beautiful story, do you think they can make one for me? Ha, ha, hugs, your namesake Ingrid from SoBe.

JB: Got a chance to look at more of those pics and they are just fantastic. I love to see pics and videos of horses having their bath time, they look so contented and are enjoying every moment of it. I am hoping for a chance to give a sweet horse a bath….Do they love it, or just look like they love it???
Marty
You look fabulous….It does look nice over there in kentucky!!!!

@Karen Gogue–Your post about Zenyatta’s world during the last thread was truly a masterpiece of prose.@DJ-Shouldn’t that freeway be the 55 rather than the 15? also, that Tennessee episode with Ernie Ford is a classic but I like the one when they reach Hollywood and she goes to lunch in the same restaurant as William Holden. @Helen (Michigan)-Thank you. if you miss any of the punch lines, let me know and I will repost.@Kari Bussell-It really is Zenyatta’s world. She just allows us to live in it. Tributes to you keep coming in. I hope you realize how many friends you have here. Bless you. @Judy Berube–The Tennessee Bound episode of I Love Lucy was merely lone of several that the show did concerning the trip to Hollywood. MY favorite Lucy film is The Long, Long, Trailer. Thanks for the link to Doctor Gerard. He is a bigger crook than I thought he was and it appears that other horses are involved, it was just never proven. One year for what he did? 20 is more appropriate. He wants his ashes spread where happy horses graze? I have a different destination in mind for them. This photo of Zenyatta is truly striking.

To Lisa g.:
You’re welcome. I have never blamed Blame (pun intended). Just bad racing luck; still, Z ran the most remarkable race I have ever seen run. Blame is handsome, indeed. Hugs, J.B.

Your last paragraph is something I aspire to Zenyatta. What a positive difference you have made to the world, what a terrific example of how to live life you are.
Tasty Temptation & Candy Ride! Wow, the naming possibilities are endless, that will keep me busy for hours!
Re. baby shower, Alex Brown had the idea for an online baby shower a couple of months back. It’s a great idea and many charities could benefit. Not that it’s my biz how u spend your $, but I hestitate to actually send Zenyatta anything, as she has everything she could possible want, and so many others less fortunate could benefit. I did come across a wonderful charity that is nationwide, and provides a layette to as many babies as possible who are leaving the hospital with next to nothing. Something like that would be nice, appropriate for the occasion, and honor Z’s charitable works. I have not checked this charity out, to make sure they use most of the funds for the babies, I will post it’s link when I’ve had time to do that. Of course, horse charities are near & dear to our hearts too. We have plenty o’ time to think about it though.

Hey Zenyatta! I am one of your biggest fans. No Joke, i first found out about you waching the show Jockeys on Animal Planet. when Mike rode you. i Fell in love! Your big bounding strides. they way you turned up the heat comming down the homestrech. And of course the way you perk up your ears when you cross the finish line! I have followed you ever since. My parents actually took me you see you race at Churchill Downs for my Birthday! I cryed when they told me. I was so excited! even though you got second that was a Day i will always cherish. Im glad that you are in foal. and i cant wait to see the pictures of the foal when it is born! you will be a great mother. I hope i get to see you up close someday.
With Love always,
Jess

@Diana S-Agree completely on Doctor Gerard. I am sure he is attending the devil’s horses, if there are any horses where he is. And, I hope there are not.
Barbara Wood
Dearest Z–you look FABULOUS! and YOU have taken multi-tasking to a higher level. You are doing so much good for so many.
@Brenda–great idea. I feel strongly that our “baby gifts” to honor the new little one should be charitable donations.
I just realized that like many of you, I’m not getting anything done because I spend so much time with friends here. Loved the ocmment yesterday about the family “expecting supper”. What a hoot it would be if we could have a convention and all get together!
Vicki
Zenyatta you look absolutely gorgeous so nice to see updated photos on a regular basis. Thanks Dottie for sharing with us!
Mary Larson-Gutman
You are the best Z!!!!!
Diana Harris
