Good Morning,
I wanted to give you an update on HOW I AM DOING! I am eating very well…no surprise there…and enjoying myself tremendously. My number of treats is being monitored (as it should be) and I am drinking lots of water each day and nothing else.
As you can see, I do have a bit of a BABY BUMP. I am HAPPILY gaining a few pounds…right in the middle. As many of you may know from your own personal experiences, this is what happens when you are having a baby!
In the responses, many of you have asked about my actual breeding date. It was on April 3rd. Time is flying by so quickly. Another fun fact to note is that my paddock pal, Tasty Temptation, was also bred on the very same day. She was bred to Candy Ride and is also in foal.
Thus, Tasty T. and I have a great deal in common. We are both experiencing the exact same stages of our pregnancies together.
In looking at this photo, the clouds look amazing in the background. The sky is gorgeous…and the Kentucky Blue Grass is so lush. My friend, Matt, also looks good! He is so sweet and I so appreciate the fact that he will spend the one-to-one time grazing me like this!
As for ME, I think I look pretty terrific in this picture! (Blush, Blush) My coat looks fabulous, my dapples are glowing and I do think my overall appearance is TOO CUTE!
I’ll keep you posted and updated on what I’m doing as we go along. I’m still very busy with my friends and all of my charity work! The other day Lane’s End told ME that I recently raised $8,500 for a charity named RIDING FOR HOPE. ($2,500 for one of my halters and $6,000 for a visit with ME!)
This organization is one that “is dedicated to improving the quality of life and the health of children and adults with special physical, cognitive, emotional and social needs through therapeutic activities with the horse”. **
I am so grateful to be able to HELP!
This concept of further developing your life in the midst of having a second career, in my case…having a baby, is quite gratifying! I am really trying to use my time wisely to help others and to do my very best to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
With Love,
Hugs to All~
Z

You get more beautiful each day, Zenny! And TOO CUTE doesn’t even come close–you are a knockout!!!!!!!! Yet even though you are a true star and athlete, you always add the charity work you are doing with Team Z. Just wonderful. Dearest Zenyatta, do all you can to make racing as honorable as you and Team Z are–bring the public back to racing by making sure that the health and wellbeing of the HORSE become the overriding ethical rule of thoroughbred racing. Love you, Zenny!!!!

Well….it seems March will be the time of delivery for you. You have a long ways to go….so enjoy your grazing…your wonderful life there…because in March you will have a little under feet all the time. It will be such a happy time…you will love it I am sure…I know I miss my sons being small and under my feet….they are now grown. I now have my two dogs under my feet and I love it. Hugs to you Z….Great pic of you and Matt. :)

My hope is that Zenyatta’s team decides to continue fundraising for such worthy causes by adding Zenyatta’s name to their efforts! So far it seems that is what Team Z is all about – using it’s influence for the greater good. Applause!!

Being Italian-American myself, I guess March 19th, St. Joseph’s Day, because Bernardini is part Italian. Ha, ha. Hugs, J.B.

Big, Big Mama, how lovely you look against that gorgeous background at LE, paradise on earth for horses. Thank you to Dottie for giving us an update on your pregnancy….we’ve all been wondering how its going and now we have an actual date so we can start counting. I know how you feel I had to cut back on treats and what I drank for 9 months too.
I was waiting to respond to comments from yesterdays posts till this new one came out so here goes:
@Signofthetimes, I can see you have fallen in love with Indy too, he was my derby horse way back then but didn’t run till the Belmont because of an injury, and then won it. I will always wonder if he could have won the Triple he was so good. I’ll be going to Kentucky possibly in the Fall and hope to visit him before something happens to him, I got to see him after the BC and plant a kiss on his soft nose. Zazu is a great granddaughter which explains why she is so good.
@Dawn Conrad and Judy Berube I am throwing down the gauntlet as far as this Lucy/Ethel thing goes to see who best resembles them. If you look at the video of Z’s arrival in Kentucky that was posted yesterday by Signofthetimes in the beginning we are shown, Me(Lucy)and my girlfriend(Ethel) holding my Z sign. HA,HA don’t we look like a couple of idiots? Balls in your court.
@Kari Bussell so sad to hear of your predicament, isn’t that just the way those INS. companies are….don’t want to pay. I think you could sell your lovely videos to help out with expenses they are truly fantastic and very professional. I shall remember you in prayers. A kiss on Z’s nose.

You look Beautiful!! So you and TT are both expecting on the same day. Of course, we all know that the date is an estimate. I have had mares, like us girls, come a week or two early and up to a few late…but I can only hope that Tory’s date is correct :) My birthday. How very special (for me) that would be.
Lastly…I love the idea of a national baby shower!!
Judy (Maass) Gadwood ~ CA
@ Tory: I’m going to use MARCH 9TH!!! This is JOHN HENRY’s birthday and it brought him lots and lots of good luck :-D. It was also RAGS TO RICHES date of birth for her first foal. BTW John Henry watches over Zenny from Heaven… he adores her, too! She is the “sister” he never had :-)

Congrats to Zenyatta and Bernadini on a successful pregnancy so far! :) How long is a horse’s gestation period again? -I forgot. :P – I think it is 11mo but someone please correct me if I’m wrong. Have an awesome day!
–And, yes, Matt is SO LUCKY!
Christine Coleman
Hi Zenyatta Coleman! You look absolutely gorgeous. I am about to scream because I wanted you to be bred with Candy Ride. :(
Oh well…Ebloussainte turned out beautifully as a Bernardini daughter, so lets see how she can race? Maybe for your next foal Candy Ride may be considered! Keep enjoying the wonderful life your humans are lovingly providing for you… I’m enjoying my “fantasy” ownership of you that the Mosses so kindly make possible by sharing you with us. Love you Zenyatta! My other horses send their greetings!

Dear Z, You have been on my mind so much lately as I have been copying all the recordings from our DVR, which include all your races. I love you and I’m happy that you are healthy and happy but I really miss you racing. Hope that someday I will be able to see you in person.

Sweet Z – So wonderful to see you at your current “state” – you are TOO CUTE! And we love you for it!! It would be great to have a monthly picture of you and your progression over your term. So far, and I anticipate this will hold true, you are carrying it all well. You have such a great bone structure and have gone into Motherhood being is such great shape, I am sure you will get your wasteline back in no time! :)
Love you and yours, Linda M

I’d like to suggest that we have an INTERNATIONAL baby shower – Zenny’s admirers are world wide.
@ Judy Berube and Sarah Campion, I mentioned that we’d all love it if Sarah put together a portfolio of her awesome pictures and made them available for sale. Zenny’s charities would benefit and they’d be a No.1 seller.
