Good Morning,
On so many levels, I can’t thank all of you enough for the kind words you wrote to ME yesterday. Your support and consideration means a great deal. Thank you for encouraging ME to be ME!
I truly am getting a bit of a ‘baby bump’….to quote this current human phrase. I am definitely starting to gain some ‘baby weight’. I must say…this is very exciting!
In my life, my weight has always been a huge consideration. When I was an athlete, MY JOHN would constantly monitor my weight….before and after exercise…and then before and after a race! He had a ‘weight tape’ which he placed over my withers and directly behind my elbow….right around my heart area. This tape is scientifically designed to calculate the weight of a horse based upon a very specific formula. Thus, the point on the tape where the 2 parts meet as it is placed around my body would give my weight. The number given is considered to be quite accurate.
Not only did MY JOHN want to monitor my weight, he also wanted to see how much my weight changed before and after exercise. This would be true for any athlete in any sport.
My optimum weight while racing was right at 1200–1205 pounds. I know, I’m a good-sized girl! What is the saying….it is what you do with what you’ve got that matters! Believe me, I truly subscribed to this principle while racing…and continue to embrace it in my life today!)
Thus, right at 1200ish pounds was MY JOHN’S target weight for ME when preparing for a race. As mentioned earlier, he monitored it all of the time and kept a detailed record of it while I was enjoying my time at BARN 55.
All of this goes to illustrate….THE DETAILS MATTER!
Now, my weight is very important for another reason. I have gained ‘some pounds’ for sure…but I do think I look TOO CUTE!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

I love all the information you give us regarding you Miss Z. I had no idea they weighed you so often when you were still on the track. Learn something new every day. Glad to see you are in great shape – baby bump and all.

Hi Zee, you need to watch your wight while your pregnant too as it is harder for a mare to foal if She gets to fat so stay healthy and take care of yourself and that baby. I worked on a farm and foaled out about 90 mares one year it was the best job in the world, there is nothing like bring a new born foal in to this world, and knock on wood we did not lose one foal that year, how lucky is that ??? we did have one close call but we pulled if off and mare and foal lived that was truly a great day. Well take will TTYL

P.S. I’ve seen salad bars that didn’t look as delicious as your bluegrass :)

The lush green grass of Kentucky makes a beautiful back-drop for your pictures. You really pop out in them!. It was to bad to learn that Goldikova had carried two pounds over her assigned weight in her Ascot race. I’m not sure how this happens, (thought jockeys did a pre-race weigh-in), but her Jockey Olivier Peslier, spelling, was fined for it. It may have been the difference in her loss to Canford Cliffs. History now. No mare will probably ever carry more weight to victory than you did in winning the Vanity in the future. Love Blind Luck but MISS YOU!! . . .You were and still are the Greatest!..Zenny, I noticed watching the Ascot Races that the gate assistants used some type of “figure eight” thing they placed behind the horses to help get them in the gate. It seemed to me that this would give the handlers more leverage as well as being safer when dealing with loading a stubborn horse. Do you know what this is called and why it is not used in this country? Thanks in advance for your help. Keeping eating your greens beautiful girl! Love & Peace
Sheri
Oh sorry! I meant Tasy Temptaion! Sorry! :)

Having said all that “Beautiful Zenyatta” it was very intresting to know. Really love learning all these facts about keeping you fit and sound that we have learned. John is a great trainer and I love how he cares for all his horses. So……how much do you weigh with foal??I know better then to ask a lady such a question but you have provided us with such great info I did not think you would mind! You look so happy and your figure still looks fabulous. LOVE TO YOU ALL~

Z, what a beautiful photo grazing with TT. Do you still hang with PQ? Also, how much weight do you expect to gain during your pregnancy? Just curious how much horses tend to gain while expecting. Enjoy your day Big Mamma Z! Cathleen XOXOX
