Happy Monday, Everyone!
Well, it is the beginning of another week! I truly can’t believe how quickly the time flies by! The Meet at Royal Ascot is complete, The Triple Crown is over for this year, and the VANITY HANDICAP (which was very exciting) has taken place.
Congratulations to all of the winners! I loved the fact that MY TEAM won a race on Vanity Day with LORO. It was TOO CUTE to see MY JOHN in the post-race interview on TVG. HE commented he was so happy the MOSS’ SILKS were able to be in the Winners’ Circle on this particular race day. I must say, I was too!
All is going very well for ME these days! As you can see in the photo above, I am one very happy, happy horse. I even have my own personal back-scratcher, the adorable Charles! He is always there to help me out if I need a hand with my back-scratching. I was out grazing a couple days ago and Charles was right there to help ME find that perfect “ITCHY” spot! What a guy!
Enjoy your week!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Bernie, I was thinking of you yesterday. Hope you had a great Father’s Day!)

You are so fortunate to have your own backscratchers. Was glad to see Loro win the other day too, very happy for your team and congratulations to them. Miss you on the track, but times moves us on to different things. Take care and enjoy yourself Zenyatta. Love you lots!

@The gaggle of Z’s darling dumplings, now posted on Zenny’s FB! :)

@Devora Berliner and @Kiki Sam, sorry, but you are not going to be able to see Zenyatta. In fact, Lane’s End is not open for tours until July. When they do have tours, they are only of the stallion facilities and do not include the broodmares. Also, not to be unkind, but ALL the working farms in Kentucky require advance reservations. You can’t just show up. They are businesses, not tourist attractions.

To Cheryl Y.:
Thanks for the tip on the Johnathon Shepard article. I will try to find it. At the very end of the Meese Rocks B. Livingston piece, there is a highlighted link in blue to Terranova Stables Blog. There is a tribute to Meese Rocks written by the Terranova family. You’ll cry a little I know, but wow do they write about how much she meant to them and how loved she was. Hugs, J.B.

To Karen G.: YES…I will say it! TOO CUTE!! The “Zenyatta Smile” is the commonality that binds, and I wish I were there to have one on as well! Thank you for capturing the magicial “Z” spirit.
Blessings to you four lovely ladies for giving back to us :)

First Z: Adorable picture! Your upper lip says it all! TOO CUTE!
Second, just got to Post #274 – yikes! It takes forever bringing up the rear. So it will be awhile before I read up to and through this one. However, I want to out-weird Terry Crow: I do cat foster and rescue. Kitties are the real throw-aways in society today. I’ve had purebreds dumped at my door! Love many of them, care about all of them. Lost one great pal on Friday and another this morning. It has not been a good few days. I am one of the few fosters that will take FeLV and FIV postive kitties, so I lose some and it kills me. I have all of them cremated by P.A.L.S. here in the Phoenix area. Small kittens that don’t make it are buried under new little saplings that I plant. If I can find the great poem: I Am An Animal Rescuer, I will post it here. I know this Z family, and the Barbaro blog family will understand.

Dear Diana S:
God Bless you for your foster and rescue work with kittens and cats. So sorry that you have to lose some of them that are already so ill when you get them. Hugs, J.B.

Nice to see Charles again. He is one lucky man. He gets to see you all of the time. We only get pictures, but will have to be content. You look wonderful. Hope to see you in person some day, but not holding my breath. Stay happy and healthy. Hugs and Kisses and a little peck for the foal.
Gloria
Hey Big Mama Z, if Charles takes a vacation or leaves the farm, please let me know. I’ll be happy to take his place scratching your back. It’s the least I could do for all of the happiness you’ve brought me. Love you, sweet girl! XOXO

Dearest, Zenyatta. Hello gorgeous! You look like that scratch from Charles feels so. . . good. As many have said here, what we wouldn’t give to have his job. Please thank him and the rest of your wonderful Lane’s End friends for taking such good care of you. How beautiful is that Kentucky scenary surrounding you! I can just picture you standing on your favorite hill and gazing over your domaine for hours. After all, you are the Queen. :) I am counting down the days until I arrive in Versailles. It is only a few more weeks. I stay at a lovely bed and breakfast there. Once settled, it is off to the horse farms. I am so excited. Be sure to let Sarah know how much we appreciate her beautiful pictures. Love to Dottie, she is the absolute best!! I have to offer my condolences for the connections of Tiz Zoe and hope for a speedy recover for Unrivaled Belle. Congrats to Blind Luck, what a run! So happy that Loro won and that Team Z got to spend some time in the winner’s circle on Vanity Day. What memories they must all share. No doubt you were there with then Zenny, if only in spirit. Sweet dreams, my love. Hugs and Kisses. XXXOOO
@Shari – I hope everything today went well and that you had no problems. I was thinking about you all day.
@Brookie – Hope you are having an amazing summer sweet girl. Love hearing from you.
@Abigail – As always I marvel at your presentation of the history of horseracing. Fantastic!!
@Amy K – Love the description of all the girls at Hollywood Park. TOO FUN! Your observation about Dottie is spot on.
@Barb France – Your post yesterday really touched my heart. I still have the last phone message my brother ever left for me, before he passed away from a heart attack at 52.
@Susan in TN – Never stop talking about your rescue group. I enjoy hearing about all of the horses very much and love you for all that you are doing on their behalf.
@JSmith – Your description of Barn 55 was special. Although I visited earlier in the day, there was still that feeling of warmth that you got from the surroundings. It’s that hug a horse feeling.
@Trina and the Kennedys – How special that you both saw Ebby. She certainly did steal my heart.
@Trish & Mike in Colorado – Were you at HP?
@Cynthia H, DJ, Sharon Call – The stories you shared about your fathers were remarkably beautiful. My father was a very special man and one of the things I remember most was the look of pride he would often give me. It always made me feel I could conquer the world. His loss was extremely difficult for me, for you see he died in my arms from a heart attack. I preformed CPR until the ambulance arrived, but there was no hope. He was gone from us too soon. It is a wound that never heals.

IT IS JUST “TOO CUTE” THE WAY YOU FEEL ABOUT OUR DEAR “TOO CUTE” GHOSTWRITER’S CHOICE OF PHRASING! IT IS JUST “TOO CUTE” WHEN PEOPLE HAVE TO CRITICIZE ANOTHER’S FABULOUS ACCOMPLISHMENTS. IT IS JUST “TOO CUTE” WHEN ONE FORGETS THEIR GOOD MANNERS AND WHAT THEIR DEAR MOTHERS HAVE TAUGHT THEM…”IF YOU CANNOT SAY SOMETHING NICE, THEN SAY NOTHING AT ALL”.
WE, ZENYATTA’S FANS, LOVE THE PHRASE “TOO CUTE” :) WE KNOW OUR DEAR LADY Z IS JUST TELLING US TO ENJOY WHATEVER SHE IS DISCUSSING FOR THE DAY.
SO KIM…SIT BACK, READ THE DAILY POSTS AND ENJOY. THEY REALLY ARE “TOO CUTE”! :)

Zenny, glad Charles is keeping you happy. You deserve to be pampered. You are looking beautiful as ever. Congrats to John, The Mosses and Loro. :D

Zen, when I saw the picture the first thing to pop into my head was James Brown’s song “I Feel Good”! X&O’s for you.

Zenny-you’re BEAKING! Too cute! You look so good. Lane’s End is doing a terrific job keeping you happy and healthy- can’t help but envy Charles just a little! But I feel blessed that we are able to share your life as much as we do-this has to be unprecedented! Say hi to The Girls- hope they are all doing well <3
@Jan Doyle: How neat that you got to see Giacomo! What else did you do in Kentucky?-(if you want to share)
@Deborah Richman: Thank you! And Lou is feeling good-just waiting to go to the neurologist.
@Lisa G: Hope your canine girl is doing well<3
@Sharon in Seattle: Well said!
@Margaret: I feel like you are the keeper of the calendar- thank you for staying on top of Z's pregnancy!
@Judy Berube: Thanks for the link-will check it out. I've already been crying, anyway. I watched the 2010 BC and I guess I hadn't watched the post-race coverage in awhile because I forgot just how devestated Mike was (almost crumpled over in the saddle) and how Mario, when he got to Zenny, rubbed Mike's leg to comfort him before he rubbed Z's neck-then Mike leaned over on Z's neck and kissed her. Sometimes acts of kindness and love make me cry – I guess the shear beauty of it.
@Terry Crow: Hope your friend is doing better.
@Sarah: Thank you for the great photos you post for us!
@Dottie: Thank you for everything <3
@Ann and Jerry: Thank you both for sharing your girl <3
@John: You are something special <3
@Mario: YOU are something special, too!
@ All my Z friends: Love to you all <3

@Diana S. I, too, did kitten and cat foster for the county humane society for 6 years, so I know exactly what you are saying. I had so many kittens that weren’t weaned yet, but their mothers had disappeared so I wound up feeding them every two hours until they were old enough to eat more solid food. I concocted what I used to call “Auntie Sharon’s Magic Baby Kitty Mush”. It was dry kitten food soaked in hot water, mixed with kitten milk replacer and just a tiny dash of high quality wet food. They always loved it and would climb in the bowls and have the “mush” in their eyes, ears, up their little noses, on their feet and generally smeared all over. Of course, each one had to have a “bath” which was a warm wash cloth since they were too little to give an actual bath too. The happiest time for me was when they old enough to hop. Once they learned to do that, it seemed that’s all they wanted to do. It’s always hard to lose one, but the ones you save make up for it.
