Happy Monday, Everyone!
Well, it is the beginning of another week! I truly can’t believe how quickly the time flies by! The Meet at Royal Ascot is complete, The Triple Crown is over for this year, and the VANITY HANDICAP (which was very exciting) has taken place.
Congratulations to all of the winners! I loved the fact that MY TEAM won a race on Vanity Day with LORO. It was TOO CUTE to see MY JOHN in the post-race interview on TVG. HE commented he was so happy the MOSS’ SILKS were able to be in the Winners’ Circle on this particular race day. I must say, I was too!
All is going very well for ME these days! As you can see in the photo above, I am one very happy, happy horse. I even have my own personal back-scratcher, the adorable Charles! He is always there to help me out if I need a hand with my back-scratching. I was out grazing a couple days ago and Charles was right there to help ME find that perfect “ITCHY” spot! What a guy!
Enjoy your week!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Bernie, I was thinking of you yesterday. Hope you had a great Father’s Day!)

I thing this year horseracing is not the same without you!
My Zenyatta, you are so special, you have your own back scratcher! Love you Ingrid.
Roberta Smith

You look very svelte for a pregnant gal, Z. You always deserve only the best. Love you always.

@Tatia, maybe Ensign or one of the other pros will give you a better answer, but from what I’ve read in Thoroughbred Times and Blood Horse, the recovery time for this type of injury is a few months. It is possible for a horse to return to training after the injury is healed. However, in Unrivaled Belle’s case, she wouldn’t be able to race again until after the Breeders’ Cup. Her owners had planned to retire her at the end of the year anyway, so they went ahead and made it official. It won’t affect her ability to be a broodmare.

I so love reading your blog everyday – it brings a smile to my face just seeing how happy and healthy you are…..TOO CUTE, for sure! Dottie, John and The Moss’s – we thank you for all you do and for sharing her with us!! And yes, we love seeing those colors in the winners circle!!
Sheri
Haha thats cute! glad to hear you’re doing well Zenny! Love ya!!! :D

Sunshine, grass, and scratches. What could be better?

With Z now retired, the Older Female division is actually competitive this year. It looks like we’ve got Havre de Grace, Blind Luck, and Awesome Maria all in the mix for year-end honors, and a filly such as Switch could enter the conversation with a strong second half. If Goldi wins the BC Mile again, she will have to be considered. Interesting!

Beautiful Z…All expectant moms, but ESPECIALLY YOU, deserve a good back scratch!! TOO CUTE FOR SURE!
Joan
I was happy to see Loro win, too. That’s so nice you have your own personal back scratcher! You deserve it. Enjoy your day, Zenyatta dear.

Dottie, PLEASE never stop using “too cute.” I would miss it very much if you did. It’s part of the personality of this blog and I love it. Very warm and fuzzy, just like the big girl herself. Congratulations to Ann and Jerry Moss and John and Dottie on Loro’s win! Very happy about that. Zenny, you look very happy and that makes me happy. Happy Father’s Day to Bernie and all the other Dads.

No horse will ever fill each big hoof of the Queen.

TOO CUTE, Zenny! I do believe Charles is standing where we can’t quite see the Baby On Board ;-)

I was at HP on Saturday… guess where I stood? IN YOUR STALL, Sweetie!!! :-) Too surreal for words! I visited you numerous times while you got bathed and then grazed, but to think I’d EVER stand in your stall – no way!!! If you had been in there with me – wink wink – that would have been TOO COOL!
————
YOUR JOHN and his staff were as kind as could be (as usual). Steve took us over to visit PRINCESS EBBY. She is as docile as you, girlfriend! She is dark and beautiful, with ears like yours! No cotton balls yet LOL She loved the TLC we gave her :-D
————-
LORO got YOUR JOHN and the Mosses a win! TOO CUTE! John had a very busy day.

Wow! Wasn’t BLIND LUCK something else?! She showed everyone that famous Zenny closing kick!

Wow Big Mama, I’m acutally jealous, I’d love to have that cute Charles scratch my back!! Oh, I’m just kidding you deserve every pampering moment for all that you gave us these last three years.
@Carolyn, I agree with all you said about Blind Luck she is my new “racing mare” love, she always brings her game, big, big heart.
To all you who worried about Z going to Lanes End for retirement, I think we can all agree she couldn’t be in a better place, heck I’d gladly live there.
Kisses on your nose big girl.

Dear Z Fans:
Barbara Livingston has a wonderful, but heart wrenching story and tribute to Meese Rocks. She was owned Henry, Joseph and Jamie Terranova. They loved her very much amf, although it’s bittersweet, it’s a story I think you will all want to read. Hope the link works, if not just go to DRF and click on Barbara Livingston’s Blog. Hugs, J.B.

I am in the ZENYATTASPHERE again. You can always tell when you find the right “spot” by the position of your horse’s lip…….. and by the picture, YOUR Charles did find just the perfect spot too cute :-)

Sorry about the typos: … she was owned by Henry, Joseph and Jamie Terranova. … and although it’s bittersweet, it’s a story I think you will want to read.

Hey, Zenny. I can tell Charles hit that special itchy spot by the way your lip is stuck out. TOO CUTE!

Zenyatta, did you have a nice Father’s Day? I did. Did they give Bernardini or any other male horses in your life cake, ice cream, carrots, sugar, or something of the sort to celebrate Father’s Day? Perhaps a great experience such as an outing that they don’t normally get? I spent most of it relaxing and watching horseracing. As I’ve said earlier, I deeply regret not catching any of the Royal Ascot races. I missed a whole lot. Like I also said, I missed the first day due to work, but the other days I missed in large part because when it’s morning where I am, it is 5 hours or so later in England so it is afternoon there and I am not much of a morning person. I shouldn’t have used that as an excuse. I get up for other non-work things and in the future, British racing and other racing from that time zone such as Dubai, or whatever-I don’t care where, is going to be among those non-work things that I get up early for. I like all horseracing, no matter where in the world it is taking place. But Royal Ascot racing especially, I shouldn’t have missed it. Shame on me. Everyone at a Royal Ascot race is required to be dressed up, and all the pagentry and everything is all the more reason I should have watched it. A lot of the big races of 2011 are now history-you are right about that, Zenyatta. Lord, girl, you are having all the luck getting scratched, rubbed, or whatever in all the right places lately. Congratulations to Loro for winning her race. Tell your barn 55 buddies to keep up the good work!!!! How are you doing in your pregnancy? Are you taking proper care of yourself? Are you eating properly, resting properly, etc…? How much activity can you have with your Lane’s End Farm buddies without affecting the well being of your future foal in a negative way? This might mean that you can’t have beer during the time that you are in foal. Human women can’t drink while pregnant or the baby will probably not turn out right.
Debbie
hi Z! YOU are TOO CUTE! and I love love love YOU gorgeous mama!!! xoxoxo
suew
Zenny, I’d give anything to be able to scratch that back of yours. Imagine, Charles actually gets paid for taking care of you! Me, I’d do it for nothing…but maybe not quite as good. ;-). You and Dottie are absolutely Too Cute…love this diary and love the great pictures Sarah always takes for us.
Nancy L
Vanity Day reminded me that last year I went to see you up close and personal and took a ton of pics in the walking ring. Thanks for a great day. But really, that finish was a bit too close. Miss you but glad you are happily retired.
Celeste
