Good Morning,
Each year, the DRF (Daily Racing Form)…in book format…produces a complete recap of the prior year in racing. It is called the AMERICAN RACING MANUAL. The issue currently being released is recapping 2010…and it has ME on the cover. Now this is TOO CUTE!
This resource book is a very complete review of the prior racing year. All graded stakes charts for the year are included as well as the past performances for all horses who won a graded stakes. They also present a summary of every stakes race run in that calendar year with some extra statistical sections for the Triple Crown Races. A great deal of other information is presented to really keep racing fans up-to-speed on all of these topics as well as honoring many historical perspectives concerning our sport. It is truly very informative!
And…the fact that I’M on the cover…even makes it more special!
In reviewing other topics in the RACING FORM, I have to say MY TEAM and I love the photo Jay Hovdey used of ME in one of his current blogs. Jay wrote the words and those are his thoughts, however, the photo is of ME! MY TEAM and I are still laughing at my expression! I must explain. Jay took this photo one morning at BARN 55 when I was really enjoying a post workout bath with Mario and Carmen. I remember it well! Jay got this shot at that very moment when Mario was massaging my back and just touched that ‘perfect spot’. OH-H-H….it felt FABULOUS!
Enjoy!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Trina Nagele
It’s late again, dearest Z. Talk with you tomorrow evening. Nitey-nite, sleep tight.
@Judy Berube—When you post a link, don’t you just highlight the URL in the upper left hand corner and then copy and paste, rather than typing it out? It makes life easier, I think. BTW, THANK YOU for those many great links!
@Cynthia H—Loved your post: “Never a bad mane day,” “a touch too much Guinness, perhaps?”—too cute!
@Judy (Maass) Gadwood (CA)—Yes, that’s me! I sent you a reply, and I’ll see you tomorrow. I’ll recognize you from your photos in the Geoff Schackelford book Zenyatta at Home!
@Kari Bussell and ALL the Z fans—Wish you all could be at Hollywood Park on Saturday too!
Kathy Kimber
@KariBussell Darling girl. Wanted to say how much I love the new video. Any picture of Zeny is great but for some reason I love the ones of her in the snow running or whatever. Guess it reminds me of freedom and a primitive nature. Shes so gorgeous and so are you girl. You are a rock star. Note: When you are in those reflective moods, stay strong. Forever hugs to you dear lady
Eve
Yes, I do miss you. The more I watch horses coming from the back of the pack, the more I realize how great you are, best horse ever.

@ Kari Bussell-Love, Love, Love your videos! I did not know those were your videos! Any time I introduced Zenyatta to anyone, I had to play your Earth, Wind, Fire Let’s Groove Zeny. It is the best video to show people who have never seen our dancing Queen in the post parade do her strut. I hear that song at work all the time, & I think of Zenny, your video & instantly I am happy. Your sentimental videos always make me cry-but with a feeling of being so proud of her & what she accomplished. I always thought that if another dvd were to be made of Zenyatta, so many videos made from fans could be included. The videos are so good & come from the heart…
Oh how I wish I could be at Hollywood Park & put faces to the names I recognize here…Have Fun & cheer loudly!
Zennie, you are so beautiful-inside & outside. Enjoy the weekend!
Jean M.
Beautiful Zenyatta, You are a photographer’s dream, somehow you manage to look both playful and gorgeous at the same time, that’s our Queen. Hope your day is filled with love and precious thoughts of your baby. Wish I could be part of the crowd meeting today in CA, what fun they will have. Miss you and love you.

TOO CUTE, Zenny. Thanks for my new screensaver – you grinning at me, teeth and tongue in tow, every day. Who could ask for more. Sheer delight. Of course they had the good sense and good taste to put you on the cover of the American Racing Manual. You are the reigning Horse of the Year and add such value to the publication. Queen Z, we love you so. Thank you Dottie for sharing her with us.
Maggie

Karen G. Got it! I’ll see you next time and you will know me right away. RECOGNIZE: Stately (ok-hunched), long-legged (ok-blown calf), blonde (ok-ok-ok-that hurts-but dyed darnit), big smile (ok-horsey in a good way), graceful (ok-pushing 50), wearing black (always with a splash of color for who knows why except to change up the black), in a skirt (always helps)! Have a Great Day!

To Dottie: If this appeals to your compassionate side, “Z” PINS would be much appreciated to RECOGNIZE Z dumplings :)
Kari Bussell
@Karen Gogue- I would recognize “Our Judy” in a crowd of ten-thousand…lol..
I am too overwhelmed to reply to a couple of you at this moment except to say thank you for your kindness…..

I remember the BC Cup 2010, when Ann Moss said, Wish she had stuck her tongue out…I have seen alot of pics with her tongue out with and without the lip chain. I trained my canine babys with a chain chocker, they are diffferent now that back in the day, but none of my babies were ever hurt and I would never do anything to hurt them. Zenyatta’s lip chain distracts from her beautiful face for just a micro second.

@Everyone on to HP Today: I am so jealous that you will be there for Ms Zenyatta’s race. I am sure TVG and/or HRTV will televise it and I will be watching. Have fun, and I am there in spirit. This race will not be the same..but next year, should we except Princess Ebby? Wish I were there.
Joan Dobbie
Hi Zen,
I’m glad your baby is happy and growing. As is your legacy. I’m still waiting for someone to make that movie about you. Many movie stars are moms, you know…
Lisa g

Getting a massage is so wonderful and the look on your face is priceless. To all of you who get to go to Hollypark I am green with envy. There is nothing more enjoyable than being in a place that you really enjoy with your best friends. I hope you have a blast.
@Abigail – Thank you so much on Noor’s behalf for the donation from The Vault. I am going to see if Michael can post one of my favorite pictures of Noor on Old Friends site. Again, for all of Zenyatta’s fans thank you so much for continuing to care about Noor and helping to make his final journey to Old Friends. You are such wonderful people. To quote Neva Rae Powers from Post #269, “I adore being a groupie.”
I love you Zenyatta!
Karen Gogue
@Groupies – Changed mind about shorts. It’s too cold here in So. Cal! Long black pants for me! Sun suppose to be out later, but BURRRR!
Amanda Gilliland
My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, Now that is absolutely Too Cute!! I look the same way when I get a massage too or go see Dr. Woody,Chiropractor. Nothing says it better when the right spot is touched and you get that wonderful relief from a trigger point. I know in your career you probably had a lots of those trigger spots from the amouny of training you had, I still do have them with just daily living. I believe you are still getting those wonderful massages while you are carrying that bundle of joy. They just make you feel so good. CONGRATULATIONS on the book cover. Beautiful photo! Congratulations on the race named in your honor :) YIP-YEE!! I love you, Zenyatta, you Beautiful Goddness of Racing!!
@ Margaret-YEAHHHHHHHHHHH! I posted on FB to ALL the groups of Wild Horse Protection I am in. I want these Wild Horses protected for their contribute in buildiing our Great Country’s History and should be honored and not destroyed becasue the cattle ranchers want the land.

@Karen Gogue and the rest of the dumplings-Boy, I sure wish that I could be there today. You all sound like my kind of people. Unfortunately, I am going back and forth visiting a fiend in the hospital and can’t make it. Give everybody a high hoof for me and good luck to all!
Terry Crow
@Karen Gogue and dumplings-That should be visiting a friend, not a fiend. Boy I hope that never gets out.
DJ
To Terry Crow: TOO FUNNY! We would not have even caught that..but don’t worry, it all stays here on this track. Have a beautiful Today, you have a luck friend :)

To all my fellow Z dumplings…have a blast at HP today. Count me among others who wish they could be there. Oh, what fun to relive the times we saw our Queen barreling down the backstretch, devouring everything in her path with those famous ears forward. There was nothing like it…thrills and chills magnified a million times over. If you see our muse, Dottie, say hello for all of us. that goes for John, too.

Good luck to all going to Hollywood Park today. Wish we could be there for the Vanity Handicap. We were there for the past three years to see Zenyatta’s three consecutive wins — what thrills she gave us! How the grandstand shook! We will be rooting for champion Blind Luck today!
The Kennedys in San Diego
@Judy Berube — Thanks for the link to Uncle Mo. We are certain he will be watching today as his girlfriend, Awesome Maria, attempts to extend her steak in the Ogden Phipps at Belmont Park. We will be rooting for her. A lot on the line today as fillies and mares look to the 2011 Champion Older Female Eclipse Award now that Zenyatta is no longer racing.
The Kennedys in San Diego
@Judy(Maass)Gadwood — Thanks for the link to “A to Z – Azeri to Zenyatta with Mike Smith.” How fortunate he was to ride these two great Horse of the Year Champions. And how fortunate we were to get to know them both up close and personal and to see most of their races.
