Good Morning,
Thank you so much for all of the kind messages you have sent ME offering congratulations on my IN FOAL news! Dottie and John were reading them last night and told ME about them! I am still chuckling at the cute names all of you are suggesting.
I also thought it was TOO CUTE when you referred to ME as having a BABY BUMP! I’m still giggling over this comment! And a name that is still making me smile is WINK WINK! How precious is this!
I promise I will do my very best to eat properly and stay nice and healthy. As you can see, I’m out enjoying the lush grass with my dear friend, Mona De Momma! She is a Grade 1 winning mare by Speightstown. As a matter of fact, Mona also raced in California…so we have a great deal in common.
The weather is quite warm in Lexington now. The rain has stopped for a bit and the sun is shining.
I’m one very happy HORSE!
Again, thank you for all of your kind messages. Happy JUNE!
With Love,
Hugs to all~(Especially my dear JOHN on his birthday!)

@maryyette–A terrific idea. I will go to their website and lobby for it. We would welcome any help from persons who post on this site.@Charlotte Farmer–Milo Valenzuela is the jock who was dumped at the start of Native Diver’s third straight gold cup win. He was riding O’Hara. How is the Noor campaign going?

First off, happy birthday to Mr. Sherriffs. Hope that you have a very special evening.
And, where on earth shall we have Zenyatta’s foal-baby shower?
Shari Voltz
Dear Zenyatta what a day I had. I hope you had a good one. It looks like you were enjoying that beautiful Kentucky sunshine. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOHN. I think your one of the smartest trainers in the horse world. You are wise and really care for your horses. God Bless you with many more birthdays :) The children had so much fun today with movies, games (we were Team Zenyatta) and DQ at the end of the day. I was proud of myself I did not cry in front of the children when I had to say good-by. I waited until I got into my car then I cried my eyes out. I will really miss this group. They were super special :) Well sweet girl thank you for listening. Time for bed. I hope you have sweet dreams and take good care of yourself. Hugs and Kisses from Shari XXXOOO
@Susan in Tn I wanted to tell you that Brooke’s mother helped me at the DQ and I am going to meet Dusty this summer. Maybe connect with a rescue horse too. I guess the farm has 5 rescues and needs help. The daughter of Dusty needs someone. She is not broken but I would not mind just brushing, cleaning, or feeding her treats. If I don’t get to ride I wouild not care. Just being around the horses would be great. I will be asking you some questions because I will take treats for all 5. Thank you for asking the children and I did not want to leave DQ the time flew. We really had fun :) God bless you :)
@ Does anyone know where you buy the Jockey calender that Mike Smith is in? Thanks

Hi Queen Z, mommy to be! Happy birthday John may it be very special day for you and your love Dottie.
Ken..thanks for the chant video!
To those that see ther baby bump, it is in the eye of the beholder! Not reality! I would be surprised if we can see anything on big Z for many months. She just looks happy and healthy.

Happy Birthday John! Hope you have a very nice one. Congratulatons to Queen Z! I truly hope she will remain happy and healthy. She is my inspiration and I love her so much. The only dream this old lady has is to see Zenyatta before I die. She was surely sent from Heaven to bring joy to a world that does not have much happiness. Love you Z, Donna

I agree with Paula H, the name for the foal should be something noble and fitting for Z’s precious one, not silly names like Wink Wink, High Hoofs,Blush Blush, I’m sure Z’s Connections will do better than that!
Happy belated birthday to John & thanks Dottie for everything you do.
Sweet Dreams to our lovely Mama to be, take care & NO guinness for awhile.

Another remarkable photo by Sarah. This one looks like a painting. This is a sight for sore and tired eyes from a long day at work. Thank you Sarah. Zenny your new paddock mate is beautiful. May I ask where your other mates went. Particularly Pirate Queen. Many of us got attached to her and would like to know if she is with friends and is as happy as you are. Enjoy your days. My day is made enjoyable just with passing thoughts of you.

Hope you had a happy day Z. I so love the posts that Dottie make for you. As for name, offical name Zen’s First Dance but stable everday name…I love Wink Wink! Have a great tomorrow. Hope John had a great day too!

IS there any prettier sight than that of a beautiful horse munching sweet green grass?
I love to let my horses out to eat grass, although I don’t have much grass here for them. But they always look so content doing it.
Glad you’re getting your vegetables, Zenny, to help you stay healthy and your baby to grow big and strong.
Wink wink for the baby’s name — TOO CUTE!
Vicki Riechers
Zenyatta your baby news made my day(: I have been thinking about names too. How about Xenia the Greek word for hospitality. Since you and all your connections have been so hospitable it seems fitting. It is actually pronouced Zenia. I was calculating your due date today and then I found myself thinking about 2015 when your baby is a 3 year old can hardly wait. Thank God your connections continue to share you with me I would be lost without my Zenyatta news.

To Maryette and Terry Crow:
I will happily join you in contacting Animal Planet and Biography to suggest they do bios on famous horses. I have already e-mailed PBS some time ago and asked if they would consider doing an episode of American Experience on Zenyatta as they did on Seabiscuit. They e-mailed back saying they would consider it. Hugs, J.B.

WELL, HAPPY,HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOHN!!!! I will be celebrating my 51st on June 16th !!! I admire you very much — what a heart you have for animals and you treat them with respect and understanding. Zenyatta is a lucky horse to have you in her life!!! and so is Dottie. Cheers!!!!!!!

Hi Zenny, you are sure getting some great name options!! To Cute!!!
and…one more time to your Dear John,…Hope you have had a wonderful Birthday and that this next year is a blessed one.

Loved all the comments, birthday wishes, baby names and links today! Such fun!
@Terry Crow: Thank you- your stories and knowledge add so much!
@Terry Crow, Charlotte A. Farmer, Dona, Joyce: Loved hearing your memories and stories about Native Diver-that must have been amazing to have seen him run! Charlotte-enjoyed info about Kelso! Do you know why these two horses were gelded? Physical necessity?
@Judy Berube: What a great picture of Mucho Macho Man! Interesting article, too. I didn’t realize it was so rare for all the top finishers in the Derby to also compete in the Belmont. So many factors come into play, I’m sure! There was a fun link on Mike Smith’s FB today with pictures of Mike from early in his career to calendar shots, along with some of the great horses he has ridden. I hadn’t seen him with hair before!
@Trina Nagele: What a nice thought-wishing all of Team Z happy birthdays! It would be nice to be able to do that, wouldn’t it?
@Liz: Well said!
@Kristen: Funny!
I don’t know if someone meant it as a name(and now I don’t see it as I scroll back), but “WinkWinkWin” was in her post-cute! My eyes must be getting tired-sorry I couldn’t give credit where credit’s due!
@Kari B: That was beautiful <3
I am not a good namer, as evidenced by the Kerry Blue Terrier we had many years ago named "Kerry" :(
@Shari Volz:What a fun, busy, emotional day you must have had! I think you did well not to cry until you got into your car! I am really excited for you that you will be meeting Dusty and working with her daughter. How old is she? I'll bet Brooke is excited! I can't wait to hear more. The "work" I do at the rescue is so…I don't know a word to describe it. I think you will love it!
@Everyone interested: I will post some updates on Rusty, Root Beer, Chester and new baby and his mama in the a.m.

HEY! remind me of the daddy: is it still Bernardino?
