Good Morning,
Thank you so much for all of the kind messages you have sent ME offering congratulations on my IN FOAL news! Dottie and John were reading them last night and told ME about them! I am still chuckling at the cute names all of you are suggesting.
I also thought it was TOO CUTE when you referred to ME as having a BABY BUMP! I’m still giggling over this comment! And a name that is still making me smile is WINK WINK! How precious is this!
I promise I will do my very best to eat properly and stay nice and healthy. As you can see, I’m out enjoying the lush grass with my dear friend, Mona De Momma! She is a Grade 1 winning mare by Speightstown. As a matter of fact, Mona also raced in California…so we have a great deal in common.
The weather is quite warm in Lexington now. The rain has stopped for a bit and the sun is shining.
I’m one very happy HORSE!
Again, thank you for all of your kind messages. Happy JUNE!
With Love,
Hugs to all~(Especially my dear JOHN on his birthday!)

Dearest Zenyatta, you have always moved through every phase of your life with an extraordinary grace. This special time will prove to be no different. Your glorious physical attributes aside, my wish for your foal is that it inherit that rare and special “something” of which you are the living definition. A very Happy Birthday to your dear friend and mentor, John. WIthout him, you might still have become great, but different from what you are. He was the patient master who allowed the pieces of your personality to come together gradually, at your own pace, just as he is presently doing with your little half-sister. God bless him and his kind, for they are very few and far between.

Happy Birthday, John! If we were playing the game “Name 5 people (living or dead) you’d like to have lunch with”, Team Z is my first choice. Gandhi, Lucille Ball, et al. will just have to wait.
Zenyatta, I look forward to the day I meet you. Maybe you’ll be sporting a huge baby bump, maybe your foal will be standing next to you. I’ll be so excited.
Many thanks, as always, for all the great info. I vote for WINK WINK for the baby’s name.

Congratulations Z! You are so loved!

Forgot to add: How about the idea someone had posted yesterday and today? You all are so wanting to do something like a “baby shower”, well horses do not have baby showers!! How about in honor of Zenyatta and Johns birthday, we all just send a dollar or 2 or 5 to Old Friends with a card stating in honor of Zenyatta. It’s a great way to do something for the needy horses. Zenyatta will not need for anything, it’s the others that need the help. I’m sure if Zenyatta was a person, she would be happy to know that. If anyone else has other places that need help, please post on here. Instead of crying and everything, let’s do something good FOR the horses ON Zenyatta’s behalf. I’m sure Z’s human family would appreciate it also. Thanks.
William
Happy birthday John!!I’m really glad you are doing great!!

Dear Susan in Tn:
How funny. I hadn’t read your post because I always post first and then scroll up. I said the same thing in my post as you did; that Z and Mona look beautiful and content. The book you recommended sounds wonderful. I will see if our library has it. How are Rusty, Root Beer and all the other sweeties doing? Hugs, J.B.

Happy Birthday to the best trainer in the world!! I am so glad to hear the great news that you are in foal Zenny, just like all of your fans. Hate to wish time to go faster but can’t wait to see that baby!!!! Even though I don’t leave comments as often as I would like I read each and every post that is made and am so glad that Dottie and the rest of your family allow us to be part of your life! Thanks to you all!! Mona and you look so content grazing and she looks like a pony next to your big beautiful body!! LOL
Jan
Zenyatta,
Looking good as usual.. Looks like you and Mona are really enjoying your yummy blue grass. HAPPY BD TO THE BEST TB TRAINER IN THE WORLD :) “JOHN”

Happy Birthday John – I do believe the great news yesterday was an early present for you for 2014 – the gift Zenyatta will give you to be your new student. IndyscribeableZen. I think David gave you the gift of introducing Dottie a few years back. What a family – have a great year!

Happy Birthday, John, the best trainer in the entire world.

@Susan in TN–I am pleased that more are becoming familiar with Native Diver. He was one of a kind. That race with the riderless horse was actually his third straight win in the Hollywood Gold Cup and he was not expected to win that one. The favorite was Pretense, a good one himself. My daughter has seen that video and asked me why the other horse wasn’t the winner. I had to explain to her that the official reason for disqualification was that the horse did not carry its assigned weight. It was shortly after that race that he developed colic and the vets couldn’t save him. He was a top horse, but you are a top person.

Lucky you Zenyatta, that grass looks even good enough for me to eat. You take care, girlfriend. XOXOXOXO – Tricia

I know I’m like thousands of others, but the first time I saw Zenyatta on 60 Minutes, I fell in love. Being an animal lover anyway, there was something so gentle and special about her, I just felt like I knew Zenyatta, even though I’ve never seen her in person! I follow on Facebook, and I’m so thrilled she’s in foal!!! I hope some day to visit the farm, and see her up close and personal. It’s been a joy to read the diary posts and blogs, and Facebook posts. She is indeed special, but so are her owners. Thanks so much for sharing Zenyatta with all of us!

Dear Ken:
Thanks for the video. Saw that 2009 Classic more times than I can count; still well up – still goosebumps. Z is just extra ordinary. Hugs, J.B.

Happy Birthday to John – I’m still so thankful that he was your trainer – I absoutely believe that without his widom and guidance, your career would probably have been very different! Still so excited about THE NEWS! Has anyone suggested Zensational Dancer? We still have lots of time to suggest names. So glad you are well and happy. (thanks Dottie)
Margie
Hi Zenny, I hope you’re having as much fun as I am reading the great names your Z’ers are coming up with here.
John, the happiest of birthdays to you! You and Dottie are so beloved by Z’ers.
@DJ – you are hilarious! :-)
@Valerie – My Momma Can Dance not only makes me smile, it sounds pretty darn good!
I guess the wise folks are right – the Moss’ and Z-Baby’s personality will reveal the name, all in good time. I bet the time will fly, much like our magnificent Zenyatta did. Love you Z.

BABY SHOWER is a great idea, we could, on the sly ask the Queen what her favorite of all favorite charity is…if she had to pick one, and then send what we can in Zenyatta 12’s name. Let us know.
Tammy
@Teresa E — I love your idea. But we still could call it a Baby Shower. We would be showering Old Friends with $$ in honor of Zenyatta and her foal.
Happy Birthday, John.
Lynette Lucas
Zenny – I think it is great you are in foal and you have a baby bump!! I’m so happy that you are happy!!! Love you!! Hugs and Kisses from Roswell,NM!!!

I love the idea of donating in Zenny’s name. I’ve done it twice already and it felt so good to say “in honor of Z”, but would be more than happy to do it again as there is such a need. I think it keeps Z’s generous spirit (aided by her family, Team and Fans) “out there” by helping the less fortunate. Zenyatta is a Champion (the Champion), but she’s so much more and these things combined will be her forever mark on the world.
P.S. Sarah Campion, thank you for the fantastic photo. If Lane’s End is truly that beautiful (even more now that Zenny is there), then it must be heaven on earth.

PS. Dearest Zenny, I wouldn’t want to intrude, but if you could see your way to letting us know as the birthdays of your other dear friends from Team Z come along, we would love to give them salutations on their special days too. If that is too much of an invasion of privacy, I would like to take advantage of John’s birthday today to extend my heartfelt thanks to ALL of TEAM Z for giving us YOU and continuing to share you with us, and for being such fine examples of the BEST of humanity. TEAM Z, YOU LIGHT UP OUR LIVES!
