Good Morning,
I hope each of you had a wonderful, restful, and peaceful holiday! This day is also a special time to remember all that MEMORIAL DAY truly represents as well.
Everything at the farm is going very, very well. I want to share with you the fabulous day I have had so far. This morning, my vets came to check me and… YES, I am eating for TWO! As of this morning, I have had what is technically called my ’60 day check-up’. I am happily IN FOAL! All is A-OK! My pregnancy is progressing nicely and the baby has a very strong heartbeat! YIPPEE!
I must say I am so excited and so are all of my Team and Family members! This is such terrific news! Bernie and I are going to be parents!
As is the Moss’ policy, we are not going be fetal-sexing to determine if the foal is a colt or filly. My owners never do this with any of their mares. Part of the fun, in their opinion, is the anticipation. We will wait and BE SURPRISED!
Now, I’m off to graze and enjoy the rest of the day! I’ll fill you in on more details as we go along! Thank you so much for all of your understanding and patience the last few months on this topic! I so appreciate your kindness and support!
I’m sending each of you a HIGH HOOF! IT IS TRULY A DAY OF GREAT HAPPINESS!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Best of luck to you and baby. Your nephew, Street Invader is very happy for his aunt. We own him and try to keep him updated on his favorite aunt. Since he is only a yearling, we have him watch your races to show him how to win. He will make you proud!!

Zenny, I can see you are getting your veggies! Looks like broccoli. Good choice! Eat healthy, exercise and be happy! Love, ya.

@ I like the idea that S in San Diego said about making a donation as a shower gift for Zenny. I will donate to Our Mims. The mares there need help too. Thanks great idea :)

You sneaky girl you…like you weren’t dropping BIG hints here & there…what AWESOME news! I think the Mosses should have a Name Zenny’s Baby contest…don’t know what kind of prize they’d give but it would be fun, wouldn’t it??

I am so happy for you Zenyatta, you are going to make such a great mom for your probably not so little foal. Hey it’s the 1st as I type, a little birdie told me there should be a b’day cake back at Barn 55 for John Shirreffs today. Happy Birthday to John, everyone neigh!

Congrats, Zen! So happy for you and everyone connected with you. I will keep my fingers crossed all continues to go well. Your little baby is already so special just to have you for a mother, no matter what he or she turns out to be like. I love the pix too, you look quite content in your pasture. :)

To Abigail in Montreal and Ensign:
Dear Abigail,
We both posted the same link from DRF on Z being in foal again. The video on that link is the most informative one on broodmares that I have ever seen. What I was wondering is why the vet, Dr. Tanner, said that once the foals are born it’s important to rebreed the mares right away. Why is that the rule. With around 30,000 foals born every year (I think that’s the number) some of which never even get to the race track; why don’t they breed less frequently? What happens to all of the babies that don’t race? There are not enough rescue organizations or funds to help all of them. I know it’s a business, but I care about the welfare of the horses as do all of the loving fans. Hugs, Judy B.
Annie
Zenyatta, you are really something special. Still making news in the NY Times. I love the video where you take the cap off of John’s head. You are whimsical, comical and oh, so loveable.

Oh Zenny, I am so truly happy for you sweetie!! Chills ran down my arms as I was reading your diary post. Thanks Isabelle, Sarah and Dottie for the great pictures!! Lanes End is such a beautiful place!!
@ The Kennedys in San Diego: Thanks for the info on the WSJ article. Zenyatta appears on Page D6 of the Personal Journal section. Have a super week Z — love you always!!!!

Judy B, I agree w/you. I really hope that Zenyatta is not kept constantly pregnant. Of course it will be fun to have some of her babies to watch, but I really hope she does not have to be pregnant year after year until her time to go to Heaven comes. That happens way too much and she is so huge that could be a problem potentially. Besides, can you imagine passing something that big and being bred again right away? OUCH! To whoever suggested a donation to the TB rescues for this, that is a wonderful idea. Just think if everyone could even send just $5 each, it would make a difference in the life of a retired racehorse’s life. Great idea!
Barb
Congrats, Baby girl! So happy to hear this news but most importantly that you are happy and healthy. Keep up the GREAT work, Team Z!
Victoria
Congrats, Zenny! I think “Winking Stars” would be an ADORABLE name for Zenny’s baby. Congrats to you all!

Oh, My Queen…it is 4:30am and I am dreaming of you and thinking of names for your foal. I am so full of joyn for you. I have always remembered it for you….I know you and your team will select the perfect name….I love you more than words can say. Stay healthy and happy my dear sweet, precious Forever Queen….Yattagirl, Yattaboy,Crowning Glory, Legend’s Joy, Indyatta, Inforeglory, Inspire, Amazini, Zenmazin, Legends Heir, Heir to the Throne, Thisone, PeoplesHeart, Championsheart,Legendini, Heartforgoing…Gifted, Joyindeed,Beloved….Okay I could go on and on….I love you All!!
