Good Morning,
I hope each of you had a wonderful, restful, and peaceful holiday! This day is also a special time to remember all that MEMORIAL DAY truly represents as well.
Everything at the farm is going very, very well. I want to share with you the fabulous day I have had so far. This morning, my vets came to check me and… YES, I am eating for TWO! As of this morning, I have had what is technically called my ’60 day check-up’. I am happily IN FOAL! All is A-OK! My pregnancy is progressing nicely and the baby has a very strong heartbeat! YIPPEE!
I must say I am so excited and so are all of my Team and Family members! This is such terrific news! Bernie and I are going to be parents!
As is the Moss’ policy, we are not going be fetal-sexing to determine if the foal is a colt or filly. My owners never do this with any of their mares. Part of the fun, in their opinion, is the anticipation. We will wait and BE SURPRISED!
Now, I’m off to graze and enjoy the rest of the day! I’ll fill you in on more details as we go along! Thank you so much for all of your understanding and patience the last few months on this topic! I so appreciate your kindness and support!
I’m sending each of you a HIGH HOOF! IT IS TRULY A DAY OF GREAT HAPPINESS!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

So happy for you – look at you glow! You have brought us so many special moments like this and there will be so very many more to look forward to. Thank you to those lucky people who take care of you and share you with each of us. We enjoy hearing about your day to day activities with your paddock gals, everyone at the farm and at home in California. We have become one huge extended family! We will continue to support your Barn 55 pals while anxiously awaiting your spectacular bundle of love. One special day in Leap Year 2012 we’ll be expecting an incredible addition to our family of Zen.
Pam
Congratulations, Zenyatta! We just can’t wait. I was thinking, if it’s 60 days, your foal should arrive right around your own birthday of April 1. Another April Fool’s baby would be very cool. Of course, since it’s your baby, it’ll be cool no matter what. Enjoy your summer, Mama, because next year might not be quite so leisurely!
Cecile
Great news – congratulations all around! I agree with the Mosses, better to wait and be surprised :-)

@Astrid ~ Amazing photo! You can see the foal’s sweet little fingers and toes!
I’ve spent so much time wondering “what is it about horses?” Now it looks like the answer is simply “We are family”! It’s TOO CUTE! See this article about the equine and human genomes: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/11/091105143708.htm

@Judy Berube-It was a sad day for California racing when Native Diver died. He was a huge fan favorite. As I said, he didn’t really show the ability to get a route until he was at least five. he was the type of horse who always went to the lead but never lasted in a distance race. Big surprise when he developed into a horse that could get a distance of ground. Yes, it is too bad he was a gelding. However, on the brighter side, that is the reason he was still running at age 8. There used to be part of the old grandstand at Narraganset which was used as a retail outlet. Is it still standing?

OMG!!!!! That is the best news I have had all day! High Hooooooves for you two

Wonderful, big mama-to-be! Will you keep the same paddock mates or find new pals? Love you always, Z.

To Terry Crow:
This is a video from You Tube on Narragansett Park. It doesn’t identify the horses until the end. Indeed, Whirlaway was one of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hbq_tkDqJCY. Hugs, J.B.

Tranquil Zenny – If your foal is born on February 29th (Leap Year), we will all “Leap for Joy”. It would be an appropriately unusual day for the birth of a foal sure to be a spectacularly unusual gift to us all, as are you.
Teresa
YESSS!

Awesome news….now just 9 months of anticipation awaiting the next generation of extraordinary racehorses to arrive. Congrats to the Mosses and all the connections — may all go smoothly from here.

Congratulations Zenny & Berni and the Z Team!!! I know the foal is going to be beautiful just like its momma! Praying for you. Love you always! XOXOXO

Congradulations Zenny! If your foal is a filly you should name it Zendini, and if it’s a colt you should name it Bernyatta.
I love ya Z!

Hi Zenyatta. Wow, I am crying – I just ran to my hubbie and told him the news. We are so thrilled for you – God is so good. Love you so – you look so beautiful and the pic of you with the leaves hangning out of your mouth is just too cute. Wow – you in the pasture – you sure do make a presence!! You look like you are beaming moma. We are so excited for you and Bernie. This is the best news and definitely worth the wait. Can’t wait to hear more. Bless you moma Zenyatta. You sure have a lot to talk over with your BBFs. Eat, eat, eat well, enjoy your grazing, and have loads of fun with your BBFs. Love you Angel in Disguise.
