Good Morning,
I hope each of you had a wonderful, restful, and peaceful holiday! This day is also a special time to remember all that MEMORIAL DAY truly represents as well.
Everything at the farm is going very, very well. I want to share with you the fabulous day I have had so far. This morning, my vets came to check me and… YES, I am eating for TWO! As of this morning, I have had what is technically called my ’60 day check-up’. I am happily IN FOAL! All is A-OK! My pregnancy is progressing nicely and the baby has a very strong heartbeat! YIPPEE!
I must say I am so excited and so are all of my Team and Family members! This is such terrific news! Bernie and I are going to be parents!
As is the Moss’ policy, we are not going be fetal-sexing to determine if the foal is a colt or filly. My owners never do this with any of their mares. Part of the fun, in their opinion, is the anticipation. We will wait and BE SURPRISED!
Now, I’m off to graze and enjoy the rest of the day! I’ll fill you in on more details as we go along! Thank you so much for all of your understanding and patience the last few months on this topic! I so appreciate your kindness and support!
I’m sending each of you a HIGH HOOF! IT IS TRULY A DAY OF GREAT HAPPINESS!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

I’m sure it is the same with horses as humans the awesome feeling of creating a new life makes your heart (and hooves) sing. So happy to be following you on this new paddock path. All good wishes for a good gestation, my lovely girl. <3

Such great news!!! I’m glad that your owners are not fetal-sexing your foal. So much more fun that way!!
Erin
Congratulations Zenny and Bernie. I am in total agreement wait until the birth doesnt matter which sex you’ll be a great mother. Nothing but happy healthly thoughts for you.

@Sue Fredrick-No offense taken. I would like to think that all of us on this ire are members of the “sisterhood” and “brotherhood” of Zenyatta. I think we are in for quite a ride. @Kathryn Cogswell from 259–West coast racing often was considered to be inferior by those in the east. Even Man O’War’s owner though that the Kentucky Derby was too far west for his horse to compete in. However, I believe that persons such as Charlie Whittingham could have trained any man’s horse. @Judy Berube-Hope you enjoy the clips of Native Diver. He was my favorite horse in the 60s and I was not alone.I should have commiserated with you a bit more about Narragansett Park. Whirlaway once competed in a match race there. Whirlaway, of course, won the triple crown in 1941, a year that some believe was the best in the history of sports. He was supposed to come out to Santa Anita for the 1942-42 racing season but Pearl Harbor happened and Santa Anita was used as an internment camp during the early 40s and no racing was held. Do you live in Rhode Island?

Congratulations, Dear One! Great news! We knew it all along, but it’s great to have the 60 day checkup under your belt.

This is fabulous news! The Queen looks absolutely wonderful! Hooves-Up!!!! We are ecstatic with the news and we don’t care whether it’s a filly or a colt – as long as it is a healthy foal!!!

Congratulations Beautiful Queen!
This is wonderful news. Take care of yourself, and I look forward to reading all these posts about you. I like the idea of a baby shower. You will need another big barn to hold all the gifts you will get. I bet that all the Team Z. are still smiling over the news.

Oh Zenny I am so happy for you! Please take care.

To Terry Crow:
OMG Native Diver was amazing. He had no trouble going short or long distances. He reminds me of Z with the beautiful white blaze and the way he would look at the crowd and pose. Can’t get over he won carrying 130 lbs. It’s too bad he was a gelding; makes you wonder what his progeny might have accomplished. Hugs, J. B.

So glad all is well Zenny. I know you are going to be an awesome Mom. Sending congrats to all of the Barn 55 family.
What a happy day for all . . :) :)

Hi, Zen,
Such wonderful news!!!! So very, very happy for you and everyone around you! Really, really glad! Something to look forward to: seeing you with your new foal, and looking for E to make an appearance on the track. We will have lots of Zenyatta glimpses well into the future. Every day, I gaze upon your gorgeous face, and when I get really lonesome, I watch one of the scores of videos of you racing and dancing! Bless you, sweet girl! What a gift you are. Big hugs! Your friend, Ann Maree

HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY!
This foal will have more doting “godparents” then any born to date! I am already a ridiculously sentimental fan and am looking forward to every bit of news as it is reported…..
Mike says that he has about 5 good years of riding left. SOOOOOO, if everything goes as we all pray it does, not only may John be training “little Z” but Mike may be riding him/her! Simply cannot wait!
Madame Queen, you will continue to shed your special light on TB racing for years to come because your fans will be eagerly waiting and hoping for signs of your wonderful magic in your babies…
Congratulations to you (and Bernie!) and your team, and special thanks to Dottie for being such a wonderful scribe for you!

To Terry Crow:
I can see why Native Diver was your favorite. Yes, we live in Rhode Island. We used to go to Narragasett Park In East Providence. They closed it in the early 70’s and created an office park. We also used to go to Lincoln Downs, in Lincoln, R. I.
That too closed in the early 70’s; reopened as a Greyhound track (that’s where we adopted LouLou) and now it’s a casino with simulcasting (no live races, dogs or horses). We’ve been to Rockingham Park, N. H. (closed), Suffolk Downs, Boston, Ma., Aqueduct in N. Y. and Saratoga (my favorite track). We don’t travel anymore so we just play the races at the casino. It’s not the same. I miss seeing the horses live. Hugs, J.B.
