Hello Everyone,
Wow…it is a bit chilly here…snow and all…but I like it!
I am so excited all of you are wondering what I am up to these days! Well, lots is happening…and ALL OF IT is FABULOUS! I am SO HAPPY!
On Tuesday and Wednesday, I had lots of things to get used to in my new ‘home’. The Moss’, John, Dottie, Steve and Mario all stayed to help me in this transition.
My new stall is great. I have a wonderful big window looking out to several large paddocks. I will get to go out and play in them once I am fully acclimated. The sun shines in my window…so even though it is cold outside…I have lots of sunshine and warmth. I also have a wonderful warm blanket that keeps me cozy.
Both Tuesday and Wednesday, they took me for walks in the barn. Then John took me for walks outside…getting me used to everything. There is a round area right outside my barn that is grass. (snow on top right now) It is about the size of my grazing area in CA. John would take me out there and let me walk for about 30 minutes each time…and then let me graze on the grass. (After I walked on it, the snow was moved aside and the grass ‘popped’ up.) The snow is fun…and feels great on my feet. The grass is lush and plentiful. It is terrific. Then I’d get to stand in the sunshine and just look around for a bit. It is beautiful here.
After this, I’d go in my stall. I’d get to eat and drink water, snack on a few bites of banana and carrots and spend some time with my new friends. This is so relaxing.
My barn here has about 8 other girlfriends for me to ‘hang out with each day’. They are all very nice and friendly. We chat back and forth and I see them out playing from my window. I will be able to join them soon…but I need to do things in baby-steps first to get ready for the bigger paddocks. It is really special…and all of my new friends are great…both horse and human. I’ll let you know about my new caretakers soon. They are very, very nice. Mario and John have spent a great deal of time chatting and working with them…my every need being discussed and met. LUCKY ME!
At 3 today (I’m on KY TIME NOW), some photographers are coming to the farm to take photos of me outside. Dottie has been working with Sarah (at Lane’s End) and our web-site people to help get photos and videos up for all of you so you can see me!
I hope you are well…and enjoy all of my updates.
I’ll keep you posted.
With Love,
Hugs~

Oh, Zenny! You give me tears of joy and happiness when I read your diary! I love that you can look out of a window. The bluegrass of Kentucky is there for you to enjoy, too. {{{HUGS}} back!! And, peppermint kisses!

Thank you for the updates !!! I can’t believe how much we were worried about you, Zenyatta, and the Z-Team, and checked all the websites continually until we heard from you. I’m glad you are happy, but I’m sorry, it just doesn’t seem “right” somehow to see your beautiful, gleaming body underneath those cloudy Kentucky skies — and in the snow . . . wish that California sun were on your back. But we’re adjusting, too, just like you. You may be adjusting better than we are !!!

Sounds much better, Zenny. we’re just a bunch of mother hens about you..if you weren’t so beautiful and majestic and a real lovin’ girl, we wouldn’t care. but you are beautiful and majestic and loving and we love you right back.

Love to hear you are settling in well. My horse tells me that the grass in Ky is really yummy, especially in the spring. We come to Lexington in April for a big eventing competition. I’ve always wanted to tour your new home but unfortunately they aren’t open to visitors in the spring. That’s the only time we ever get to come to Ky so I guess I won’t ever see you again except for pictures. Please keep up your wonderful posts so you fans can keep up with how you’re doing. We love you beautiful girl!!
Sheri
And by the way, like they said, a Zenyatta webcam would be awesome! You could call it Z-Cam or Queen-Cam! haha!;)

Real glad to see that you will keep us informed. I miss seeing you so I was very glad you are keeping the website going. Take lost of photos and a video would be nice too. I love you Z you are a bright light in my life and you will have a baby like no other. I hope that the new family will let us come to visit you. I would love to actually see you in person someday. You are the best no matter what other stupid people say or think. Keep that head high horse of a life time.

Dear Zenny.. I know you want to get out there and mingle with the other girls, but Baby steps is the way to go! Your “Z” team took such great care of you while you were with them in California and I’m very happy to see that they are staying with you thru this transition. They have done it All Right from A to Z so far, and we wouldn’t expect any less now. However, Don’t forget Us as we will keep you in our hearts and prayers forever.

HI Baby Girl! Wow I am glad you’re in KY safe and sound!! Hey it sounds like a great idea to have a 24/7 video in your barn. haha…Like the Big Brother show on TV, except we will call it. “Big Sister”. But I just hope everyone stays long enough with you so you don’t think you have been deserted there. I know your Mommy & Daddy will make sure you are well taken care of. I love you more than you’ll ever know! ttyl ..oxoxoxox Rosanne

Are you getting your Guinness, Zenny?

Hi Z!! Your new home looks really nice & I am glad for you. I know it is gonna take time for you to adjust to things. I sure hope the new people take good care of you. I love you Zenyatta!!
Irene Caty
I’m so glad that all is going well for ytou so far Z. I’m sure it will take some time getting use to a new life. I will be watching to see how it all goes. You are so use to raceing and danceing and have that kind of fun that I feel it will be a good while before you fit into your new role. One always has to remember you are not the ordinary race horse. You are the greatest, Zenyatta, the Queen. We all know how fussy Queens are and especially when you are THE GREATEST of all time. I wish you the best and always God Bless you Zenny. Love you much, keep in touch. We are always anxious to hear from our big girl.
Cinda
Thanks for the update Zen. How strange the snow must be to you since you are a California girl but once you are settled in you will have lots of fun playing in it. It was great that your California family could show your new Kentucky family know you like everything. I’m sure that they will be taking just awesome care of you, that you will have great friends around you, showering you with love and attention. A stall cam would be nice maybe for just a few hours a day. My grandson (he’s 5) wants you to know that he likes seeing your pictures and he can’t wait for you to be a Mommy!
Dawn
Zenny, I loved seeing the videos of you in your stall and walking in the snow. Your barn looks very nice!
This diary posts mean so much to us. Thanks to John, Dottie, Ann and Jerry, we were let in to your everyday life.
We hope this continues. Even a photo posted of you grazing puts a smile on so many people’s faces.
Can’t wait to see you play in the field the first time!
Love,
Dawn in Ohio
