Good Morning,
Look who is peeking out of her stall at BARN 55! It is my dear baby sister, EBLOUISSANTE! We have the same MOM, Vertigineaux, but our sires are different. My DAD is STREET CRY and her’s is BERNARDINI.
John keeps teasing that he would know those EARS anywhere! The first time he saw “E” at Winter Quarter Farm last year, she was in a field with several other yearlings. He got out of the car, looked around for literally one short moment, and said…”there she is, Zenny’s sister”. He felt her body carriage and fabulous EARS were definitely a huge clue. Those qualities truly reminded him of ME!
Per John, Eblouissante is also very, very inquisitive. (Sound familiar???) She wants to always check everything out that is going on in the barn and she pays close attention to all that is happening around her. (If I say so myself, I THINK SHE IS PRETTY SMART too!)
As you can see, she does not have any white on her. Per the Jockey Club, she is considered to be dark bay-brown / black in color. “E” is also a good-sized girl, I know that feeling, with a great shoulder and hip! Our MOM had a great deal of size and presence….so I’m sure some of this we inherited from HER! Lucky Us!
From all reports, “E” is adapting very well to her new environment and really catching on well to the training routines at Barn 55!
John said he’d keep us ALL posted on how she is doing! As her BIG SISTER, I hope I can offer some great advice to her as we go along! Dottie has mentioned to ME that is something big sisters often do!
In reality, that is what is so much fun right now for ME…I can also help to TEACH things to my family and friends drawing upon my wide range of challenges, life-experiences, and accomplishments!
Have a fabulous Tuesday!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Especially my dear baby sister, Eblouissante!)

Good Day, Beautiful Z. Yes, Your sis looks a lot like you. I guess we will have to be patient to see you in foal, as the breeding season is almost over. That is fine with me. After all, Good things come to those that are patient. When God says it is time, you will become a Mom. Until then, enjoy being a Diva :) Give my love to your Team Z !!

Hi Zenny, thanks for introducing us to your “little” sister. No doubt about it she will have very large shoes to fill and much expectation will surround her every move. I wish her much success but know in my heart there is only one YOU.
John is a great trainer and will bring out her best qualities which are many. What I want most for her is to find her own style and make it work. That’s what you did, our Queen. You were the deepest of deep closers and knew how to work a crowd. Best wishes to Barn 55 and your wonderful people at LE. Like your Ann has said, everything you do is “magic”. If little sis listens to your advice whe will be quite a racemare.

I read somewhere (can’t find it now, but will keep looking) that, as with Z, E is very large for a filly. Because of this she may not even run this year. They’ll take lots of time with her, as they did with Z.

“E”….. is so pretty ….just like you “Z”…. I hope she will do as well as you. I do not think your record will ever be broken….but it will be fun to follow her. Yes…..those ears are “terrific”…we all love your ears and the way you are so inquisitive…you are so special “Z”….Happy Tuesday…Hugs to you….also if you talk to Dottie…tell her once again….us fans love her!!!! and of course we all love John!!! :)
Jenna
oh my gosh what a doll…not as much of a doll as Z, but a doll :)

Lovely to see your baby sister with ears and dancing legs that look like yours, no wonder John was able to pick her out so quickly. Dottie and John must sometimes think they’re seeing you when they see her even though there’s no white on her. She’s a very lucky filly to be in Barn 55 with John and the crew. No WINK, WINK’s in today’s news from you but Victoria and I are still wishing and hoping for good news soon. Keep munching on that good Blue Grass and enjoying your girl friends. Love to you all.

Dear Z,
Those ears sure are familiar. Sounds like she has inherited traits similar to yours; Beautiful and Smart. Hope you are feeling great. Pink or Blue, We Love You. (kind of corny, not a great poem). Love you so much and love to all of you. Judy and Russ

Wow Z – your sister is beautiful as are all of your mom’s foals. You were given the great fortune of being sent to John and you are returning the karma with so many great prospects like your sister and the Mathis’ horses going to John. They will never fill your void, but they will certainly keep our John busy with very talented horses in the making! And let’s not forget Mr. Commons. I don’t need to be a prophet to see there is a bright future for barn 55. Eclipse trainer in John’s future, hmmmm. Thanks also to David and Dottie – what a power family and yet so grounded and humble.

To Judy:
I think I read in an article, they call her Ebby. I not sure. Hugs, Judy B.

So pretty just like her big sister! Can’t wait to meet her in person! I’m sure John will not race her until he feels she’s ready…even if it’s next year. We will patiently wait.
Amy K
@ Ken Johnson – I would think adding a stakes race in Zenyatta’s name would benefit Santa Anita if well placed in their schedule of events with a whole Zenyatta Day event each year where her fans could all celebrate. There is no need to displace Lady’s Secret if they have a whole day celebrating Zenyatta. The income would surely be made up by ADDING a stakes race instead of changing the name and thus disrespecting the memory of Lady’s Secret.

Big sisters are the best. YOU will be the best ever and E will do will with with all Your advise. It just is TOO CUTE how Dottie gets all the stuff you say so precise. She is a great listener to what YOU have to say and, I JUST LOVE IT!!! (*_*) Have a good day and keep Dottie busy with YOUR chit chat!xoxoxoxxo

Dearest Z, I have so been looking forward to hearing about your little sister (well, not SO little)! And here it is! Thanks, Team Z!
@Kari Bussell—Thanks so much for your post. I will rest easier now that I know someone will keep us up to date if health changes mean you are unable to post. That’s very thoughtful of you and much appreciated. I always wish you the best.
@Terry Crow—I meant to comment earlier that it is so remarkable that Citation raced IN BETWEEN the Preakness and the Belmont. That’s the sort of thing that Kincsem did, but I didn’t know it had been done successfully mid-twentieth century.
@Karen Lamb—Thanks for your moving post about your horse Dick and finding an old photo of him.
@DJ—I know you have to read fast to get through all the info here, and I think that led to a small confusion. Abigail showed the film she made on Secretariat at her own retirement party a year ago, so her “retirement guests” were her co-workers that were honoring her.
Robin
Miss Z you are simply amazing!

I may have missed this – is E also a Jerry and Ann Moss horse?

@LouAnn Cingel of Union, Missouri –I hope you and yours have been safe from the storms. My heart goes out to all who have suffered losses.
