Good Morning,
I can’t believe how quickly the time flies by. The Preakness is now over and on to the Belmont Stakes. I would like to congratulate the winner, Shackleford, and all of his connections on this victory. He ran a wonderful race, attended the pace the entire trip, and finished with true desire! My pal, Mr. Commons, ran a nice race from the 14 post. He also lost a shoe during the running. He came out of it in good order and is back home in California. He was already out relaxing and grazing this morning at Barn 55.
John and Dottie are also back in California! They are so, so impressed with how many people in Maryland stopped them to ask about ME! I’d mentioned this the other day to you, but more and more people continued to come up to them and share their ZENYATTA STORIES! Dr. Grayson from Florida really touched their hearts. Then yesterday, while Dottie was leaving a church in Baltimore, Betsy, a woman who worked at the church, stopped to visit. She told Dottie and John that she and her friends read My Diary each day. She also commented that she has 2 photos in her office at the church: one of her husband and one of ME! This is TOO CUTE! I really can’t tell you how this makes me feel. Per Betsy, “I was very instrumental in UNITING people and uniting the sport.” What a kind thing to say! I must say, I am truly blessed to have so many endearing and supportive friends!
On another TOO CUTE note, several people were also telling them that their license plates have MY NAME on them. One friend, Candy, received her plates as a birthday gift from her friends. They just arrived and are on her car driving around Lexington as I’m writing this. She sent Dottie this photo to share with all of you! If you see her driving around, please give Candy a big wave and a HIGH HOOF for ME!
With love,
Hugs to All~

I am jealous! I wanted personal plates with Zenyatta’s name on them and might just get them! She looks beautiful in that photo as usual!!! Any VIDEOS in the very near future???? hint hint :) Love and miss you my girl!! oxoxox

I’ll have to look into changing my Ontario NANA BS plate. My grand daughter, Victoria, never did like it and she’d love driving around with Zenyatta on the plates, almost as much as she loves Zenyatta. She wears her Z hat everyday and her T-shirt as fast as I can launder it. Life would be easier if I bought six more so that she’d have one for every day.
@ CANDACE, I’ll look out for you when I’m in Lexington in July and give you a high hoof if I spot you.
Too bad that Mr. C lost a shoe, he did a really good job and I’m sure he’s happy to be back on his home turf. Now we can all wait for the Belmont and hopefully some good news from Lane’s End, Mr. & Mrs Moss and Dottie and John. Enjoy that grass on the top of your hill. Love from Fort Erie.

Dearest Z, That’s a beautiful photo of you looking contemplative as you reflect on the love you and your connections have inspired and received, and the love that will surely fill your future (WINK, WINK). I’m sorry Mr. Commons lost a shoe in the race—there seems to be a lot of that going around these days.
To everyone: I don’t know about any other spots, but I’m sure there is a Z-SPOT, and it’s right here, for everyone to enjoy regardless of gender (or age or race or wealth or anything else). THANK YOU, ZENYATTA AND DOTTIE. You add so much happiness to our lives every day.
@Candace—Way to go on the license plate!
@Mr. Commons—You’ll get’em next time. Best wishes to you and your connections.

@Debbie–I was in the race book in Las Vegas when the 2009 BC Classic was run. I have never heard noise like that before or since, with everyone that was there standing and applauding, even those who lost money foolishly backing other steeds. The call of the race is the greatest I have ever heard.

Loved how many times your name came up in TV coverage on Versus and NBC. You will always be in people’s thoughts in connection with the best of horse racing. It was annoying that they are showing the finish of BCC 2010 to advertise this year’s Breeders Cup, however.

LOL..love the license plates…You are so famous Zenny..Love you!!
Sharon Call
@Brenda. I think it was Mucho Macho Man that lost the shoe. Mr. Commons just had a lousy post position.

Happy Monday Zenny!!! Yes, almost another month gone. Wink, Wink!!! Hope the weather stays great for you girls.
@Ensign–thanks for the photo of the Street Cry filly that John Shirreffs will be training for the Mathis’. What wonderful dapples just like our Zenyatta. (Photo is at the end of #254).
So sorry there won’t be a Triple Crown winner this year but the Preaksness was still exciting in its own right. Congratulations to Shackleford for his win and Animal Kingdom for a wonderful effort.
Mr Commons will come into his own, patience is the key.
Good luck to all in the future.
Zenny, wishing you and Team Z the best, always.
Everyone have a great week. Lotsa love to all.
Susie Cartwright
I wish your career was just beginning, I wish you were just 2 years old! I would tell my friends to watch your races and so many of them would tell me they would say poor Susie there’s no way that horse is gotng to win today! You never let me down. I hope someday they will let me see you at Lanes End.

Here’s a link for the story about Secretariat on Abigail from Montreal’s “The Vault” (at its new location) that Susan in TN mentioned above. http://thevaulthorseracing.wordpress.com/

I was watching Versus before the Preakness and they had an interview with John. The ytalked a little bit about Mr. Commons but Of course John was asked how Zenyatta was doing regarding her breading schedule and I thought it was so cute that he said he could not comment on Queen Z’s condition because his wife Dottie would kill him! I can’t wait for Dottie to let the news out, one way or the other.

Hi Zenny,
I am from Maryland but didn’t get to go to the Preakness…maybe next year….
The picture of you above is beautiful.
You are a star all across the country not just in California!
Love you ~

Dear Zenny
Tooo Cute!!! A license plate. What a good idea. I am afraid
Folks where I live would say KY and CA. where are
They? Yes, onto the Belmont. Just watched Abigail’s
video of Secretariat winning the Belmont. It is so awesome.
Her post on The Vault will get you in the spirit of the Belmont.
Instead of Sham and Secretariat we will have Shackelford
And AK. Enjoy your evening Zenny with healthy food and
Good company.
@Abigail from Montreal
Thanks for the wondeful blog and video.
We can hope for

Hi Zenny!
I’m so sorry to hear about MR. COMMONS losing a shoe, just like more MUCHO MACHO MAN… ouch!
————
So, in an interview with “your” John, he said he couldn’t say as to whether or not you are with foal or Dottie would “kill him” ~ TOO CUTE!! I hope we hear soon, Sweetheart!

Fans! If you can’t own a personalized Zenyatta license plate, perhaps you’d like to purchase a personalized license plate FRAME like me! It’s pink and reads: Top: I LOVE Bottom: Queen Zenyatta
I bought it on line at
http://www.traffictalk.com
————-
One suggestion to Candy ~ removed the license plate frame and adorn that plate with something nice!!! Queen Zenyatta is worthy, ‘ya know ;-)

Dearest Sweet “Z”,
You are a picture of serenity. I love this photo. Please thank your Dottie and “Z” team for all of their gifts. The interview was lovely, and the Shirreff’s are a model of grace and humility. It was of course wonderful to see adorable Y.O.U. as well!! Always the highlight, and they know it and let you have center stage. Good night and blessings to you and yours.

Congratulations Vicki B. There is alot of heart in this work of art!
Annie
Zenyatta, how do you stay so cute all of the time? Besides that you seem very even tempered. Waiting patiently for those announcements that John mentioned in his Preakness interview. Love ya.

Thanks for posting the link to The Vault for the Belmont

To Maria and her pic. It is sooo cute.

Hi Z, I was just telling my sister that I would lOVE to have a Zenyatta license plate holder for my tag on the car. I have my favorite football team on the front and want my favorite gal pal horse on my tail.
Do any of the folks on the page have any idea were I could get a Zenny tag holder?
If they are not making them lets get busy. They should be really nice and colorful. Thanks to all love you Zenny
suew
Zenny…you gained MANY fans during and after the BC in 2010. Several family members of mine didn’t watch horseracing until that one and they were amazed at your performance. ‘They” continue to follow you on this site, just like I do. My brother said you ARE a horse for the ages…he is so right. There is something about you, big girl, that touches everyone. A “high hoof” right back at you!
jeanie langford
Love ya big girl waiting for news. Want to start on gift way ahead. Hooves Crossed. Hugs and Kisses

@Terry Crow. I just watched the 2009 BCC. You are right. Zenyatta was amazing in that race. She did not look like she was stressed at all to win it. Super mare!
Zenyatta. You look beautiful as always in your latest photo. No other horse can carry off gorgeous dapples and great whiskers like you.

@Gary Moulton, thanks for the Mike article. I’ve been telling everyone I know in England to go watch Mike. He is def. riding on Thurs @ Folkestone, but bad news for Tues, visa issues, can’t ride! It was probably added after u posted, it’s at the very bottom of the page under other news. That’s really a shame that red tape had to step in, the people sounded really excited and it would have made some extra $ for their track, which is a much lesser known track, and does not get the big star riders. He would probably have had a lot of fun too, and it would have been interesting to see if he could get more out of their horses. Oh well, perhaps it will give him incentive to make another trip later in the year. Just goes to show what a down to earth nice guy Mike is to even say he would be happy to ride there.
Gary if u find any articles on Friday that report on Mikes ride at Folkestone, do post link. Thanks.
Hernan Tovar
Too cute, too cute, we all love you…
I love you, I miss you. Ingrid.

Of course everybody asks about you Miss Popularity, did you see a post on your FB the other day from a gentleman from Portugal? He just became a fan as they showed your 60 Minute piece in his country! And that’s why they are so excited to see your Mike ride in England, because he is the jockey of the Great Zenyatta.
Jamie
Zenny, you were even a question on the “Millionaire” show this morning. (They asked about how you got your name; from what rock group.) The contestant had to ask the audience and they knew it was “The Police.” You are very famous and rightly so.
Love, hugs, and kisses :)
Gloria Jeanne
Zenny and Dottie, This is too cute, thanks for sharing. It’s great to hear all these wonderful stories. I’m glad that Dottie, John and Mr. Commons are back home, safe. Great race this weekend, I was hoping for a Triple Crown winner – It’s a shame that Shackleford didn’t win the Kentucky Derby.
Love you Zen – be safe and WINK WINK best wishes.
