Happy Friday to All,
As you know, Dottie and John are at Pimlico for the Preakness with Mr. Commons. I gather he is being one terrific guy. He trained nicely this morning and got a chance to see all of the surroundings. They have large tents up in the infield, and he looked at all of them. It was nice for him to get to see ALL OF IT and get used to this different type of infield environment. Later this afternoon, he will school and visit the paddock as well. So many things to learn, to do, and to accomplish! I remember it well!
In addition to all of the things going on with the Preakness, Dottie told ME that no matter where she and John went….. PEOPLE ASKED ABOUT ME! ME….now isn’t that TOO CUTE! I am so flattered! They wanted to know how I’m doing, how much I love my life now….and of course, the big question, how much have Bernie and I been dating.? Katherine and Carol asked John and Dottie for a photo op with them….which, of course, they did! Steve Haskins asked them to do a video clip…..and guess who he mentioned to Dottie? ME! They also met Ann Maree, who often writes responses in my Diary. All of this is so special and such fun.
The weather has been very pleasant so far and tomorrow, Preakness Day, is supposed to be beautiful! So, HOOVES CROSSED for a great RACE DAY!
WOW! People are asking about ME! This statement has such a nice RING TO IT! Thank you so much for BEING SO THOUGHTFUL and caring!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Mr. Commons is getting his ZZZZZZ’s prior to his big race on Saturday. If I happen to go to my barn a little early I can usually find a couple of my horses down and sleeping. Zenny, I bet we’re getting close to an announcment from Team Z! Enjoy the Black Eyed Susan and the Preakness Pretty One!

@Roberta Smith–I enjoyed your comment.

@Shari Voltz–Preakness day in your room? Having the kids learn about the Seabiscuit-War Admiral match race? Why didn’t I have a teacher like you 50 years ago. Those kids are so lucky.

Zenny, Mr. Commons looks very happy and settled. Hope school goes well for him this afternoon. And tell me, just why wouldn’t anyone who met Dottie and John not ask about you – you’ve brought so much to racing, especially for us common folk. We love knowing, hearing and reading about you, because we love you. Good luck to all the horses in the Preakness. And you stay happy Miss Z :). By the way how is the dating going? Hooves Crossed.

@Amanda Gilliland. How are things going with rebuilding from the tornadoes? Are you a U of A fan or an AU fan – I wasn’t sure from your post.

Dearest Queen,
Of course everyone asks about you—you’re too special!! And you are truly, truly, loved.
Looks as though Mr. Commons is getting a nice rest before the big day—a good sign he’ll be fresh! :) Good luck to him and may the race be safe for all horses and jockeys.
Happy weekend to you, Z. Have fun with all your friends and enjoy the nice weather (if you’re lucky enough to have it).
Much love,
Stel

Beautiful Zenyatta, The whole world has formed a chorus for you, “one singular sensation”, and you will go down in history being remembered by all. Mr. Commons has alot of work ahead but John knows what he needs to do. The photo is precious, thank you for sharing and tell Dottie and John to have a great time at Pimlico. Safe trip to all. Love you so much.

Zen! You “Are” and always will be the “talk of the town!” You have given so much to revitalize the horse racing industry, people’s interest in thoroughbreds….I think any discussion or attraction in the future will include some sort of rememberance of YOU!
As for Mr. Commons, remember, you and he had one very important person in “Common!”
Mr. John Shirreff and I do address him here today as “MR!” I am sure that John believes in Mr. Commons just like you and when the “neigh-sayers” look back tomorrow when he crosses that finish line first, we will be reminded of you, once again. HOOVES CROSSED!!

@Edie Dickenson: Thanks for the heads up on the Dottie/John/Steve interview…it was excellent. Dottie is one class act. John is just layed back and feeling life. Great couple. I liked the article about the Preakness when Steve wrote and said in the interview about dapples, and in the article, John knows how to shine a horse.

Sorry, bragging on how healthy and beautiful Mr. Commons is. I am multi rtasking at work…
Especially Horses
My heart is always with the KD winner on Preakness Day as hope springs eternal for a Triple Crown. But I wouldn’t have any misgivings about shouting “Come on Mr. Commons”.
@Roberta Smith: You made me laugh at your May 21 comment.

@Betty and @Judy(Maas)Gadwood—Remember Seabiscuit regularly slept lying down—of course, he was the exception. Speculation was that it was because his one leg was a little funny and maybe didn’t straighten out well enough to “lock” in place. I understand that he was lucky that he could sleep lying down for long periods of time without getting any respiratory problems.
@ Judy(Maas)Gadwood (again)—Your comment about how they love you at the framing store brought a smile to my face.

I would also be one asking about you Zenny! I love you sooooo much!!!! I’m glad to hear you’re doing well!!! Good luck to Mr.Commons and everyone else in the Preakness!!!! :D

Ms Zenyatta, must go for now, I am recording the girls so I can watch the Black Eyed Susan tonight. I am disappointed that none of the Oaks girls are running. No Triple Tiara this year. I love you girl…Maybe I will talk with later tonight….Lisa g.

Great shot of Mr. Commons and thanks for the Shirreffs-Haskin tip. I watched the video and thought back to Zenny @ Churchill for the BC 2010. In the Haskin column there’s also a reference to the dappled shine on Mr. Commons — a Shirreffs specialty. (I think it’s the aloe vera myself & a great set of hands!)
The best of luck to you, Mr. Commons, and here’s hoping for a good, safe trip for everyone tomorrow!

Hi Zeny! Mr. Commons looks so cute napping. I hardly see pictures of horses napping so it’s nice to see another side of your lives.
I wish Mr. Commons and his jockey, Victor Espinoza, a safe and great race tomorrow. Tell John – good luck for me too.
Take care. Hugs, Marilu
