Happy Saturday Everyone!
I hope all of you are getting ready to have a wonderful weekend! I have been out grazing and ENJOYING LIFE THE ZENYATTA WAY! As I have mentioned to you before, the grass is amazing here. I’m really getting an opportunity to enjoy and experience the famous KENTUCKY BLUE GRASS! Also, look at the absolutely GORGEOUS CLOUDS! This environment is very special! I feel so fortunate!
Dottie LOVES this photo of ME…and she really wanted to share it with ALL of YOU! She thinks it almost looks like a painting of ME…rather than a photo! My coat is so healthy and I still have all of my dapples! She commented to ME that I look FABULOUS! Blush, Blush!
Also, thank you for all of your kind comments for Dawn Conrad. It truly is a GREAT PHOTO OF HER! You are right…she does look very HAPPY!
Everything else is going well! It is only one week to the Preakness so there is a buzz about that race everywhere. The Peter Pan runs today which is a warm-up for the Belmont. It is nice to see that the New York Racing Association brought this race back this year. Last year it was put ‘on hold’ due to budget cuts, so it is great to see this stake back on the schedule again. It should be a very exciting race!
I also want to mention another terrific thing that happened yesterday. My dear Family Friend, ALPHA MAMA, had an A.P. Indy colt last evening. Since A.P. INDY recently retired, this colt may be one of the last foals born to be sired by this amazing stallion. This baby is a big boy! He weighed in at 142 pounds and all is A-OK with both MOM and foal. This is TOO CUTE!
I’m just thinking ahead. 142 pounds…WOW! I know she is a very good-sized mare, but I would imagine that Alpha Mama is really glad that this foal is here and romping about now. This is all ‘food for thought’ for my future! I am really trying to keep up on all of these details and pieces of information as I continue to prepare for my next role…that of becoming a MOM!
Enjoy your day, today’s races, and your weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~Especially ALPHA MAMA and her new A.P. INDY Colt

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, the website police are out and about.

@Debbie
Believe you me, if this website is to be discontinued for ANY reason, it would be because it turned into Black Caviar’s website, or just a horse talk website. Take a clue all of you who are consistently turning this into a B.C. cross-talk forum.
Therese
Does anyone see a photo of Black Caviar at the top of this DIARY? I don’t!
Jennifer
@Max
“Would be welcome?” This website is all about Zenyatta. You must have gotten lost somewhere in horse websites, but that is fine. Everyone here has a Zenyatta story or event or particular life event that brings this Great Mare into their mind’s eye. She has touched all of our lives in unique ways and this website is a tribute to her. If you stay and enjoy reading these stories from her eloquent story-tellers, I guarantee you will not leave and your conscience will not allow you to go on too long about other horses on her Diary. This is her Diary.

@ Therese
THANK YOU!!
Max
@Jennifer. I really look forward to hearing some more of these tributes to Zenyatta from her fans and the personal fan stories. I am a late fan, only from November, so that is why I welcome all details not only from Team Z and her own words in her Diary, but also from her fans who post here. Zenyatta 24/7, if that were possible.

Oh hello Zenny,
I just saw your stall #85 today and your half sister, Ebby, today at Hollywood Park. She just came a few days ago.
I also got to Hug Mr. Commons and wish him a safe and fun run to the finish line at the Preakness next Saturday. I’m on cloud nine.:)..
I think I kissed everyone of the Mosses horses at barn 55 today and others. I sure miss you sweetie Z.
Dawn Conrad
@Sarah and Dottie – Sarah, thank you for the beautiful picture and for being such a great connection to Zenny. Dottie, what can I say, but thank you again for all of the amazing things you do for all of us.
Vicki B.
You do look Fabulous, Zenny. Maybe when you become a mom, your foal should be named “Blush Blush” or “Too Cute”.
Dawn Conrad
@Lynn – How exciting!!! I am heading that way myself, the first week in June and cannot wait to see Zenny’s stall and meet everyone at Barn 55. I am glad you shared your wonderful day with us!!!
Jennifer
Welcome Max..if you click the yellow back arrow and go back a few posts, you can get to know some of the regular posters. Some post every day, some twice a day, and there are those whose friendships prompt them to post more often. Some only post every month and some just read and enjoy and post only when they are called to. Some only direct their post to Zenyatta, while others genuinely care about other posters and miss them when they do not hear from them. What makes this such an unusual website is that it is so in-depth, caring and involved. Friendships have been made here, people are uplifted and helped each and every day. It is somewhat of a familiar family environment for the regulars. They feel comfortable stating their minds on touchy subjects as well as offer comfort and encouragment to others by sharing their ups and downs and even by offering prayers as well. I hope you enjoy your journey here in Zenyattas Diary. It is a special place and unlike any other Horses website; for it is her Diary that we are privledged to be a part of.

Well put, Jennifer!

O.k. everyone calm down. Dottie often references other horses and their accomplishments. It’s a nice thing to do and widens our view of horse racing. As for Black Caviar, she is a wonderful horse, I really enjoy hearing about her and I am happy for the people of Australia. But the Queen Reigns Supreme here and always will. There is very little comparison between a sprinter like Black Caviar and Zenyatta. Zenny won at much longer distances on dirt/synthetics. Their commonalities are that they are both girls, they both beat the boys and they are beloved in their home countries. Zenyatta will ALWAYS come out on top when compared with any other mare/filly. She did the miraculous: won 19 straight as a dead closer. That should be impossible.
Cindy from LA
It is refreshing to hear about the up and coming
2 and 3 year olds on this site. Which I am sure
Team Z is interested in as the Mosses use other
Trainers and barns.
A couple of posts ago, Z mentioned congratulations
Animal Kingdom. The Black Caviar is getting a bit much.
Great article by Steve Haskins on Animal Kingdom last
Week. He looked so good at the farm. Go Mr.
Commons!!!!!!

I’ve been holding my tongue and hoping that this website would be a place where you can talk to other Zenyatta fans about not only what she has done in the 3 years that she has raced, but that one of her greatest accomplishments was to bring new people into the sport of horseracing. I’m seeing just the opposite here. I can see why this great sport of horseracing is losing its fan base, because horses, whether it is a $5,000 claimer or a horse like Zenyatta, are not appreciated for their ability, courage, heart, and their will to win. All should be appreciated, because without them, there wouldn’t have been a Man O’War, Secretariat, Ruffian, or a Zenyatta, to name just a few. I don’t know why someone has to denigrate others because of their appreciation of racehorses or horses in general – isn’t that what Zenyatta and her connections are trying to do – let us appreciate not only what Zenyatta has accomplished, but to bring new fans to horseracing. If someone is that opposed to reading about another racehorse, I don’t see why you don’t just skip the entry. I try to do that myself, but lately, in my opinion, this bickering back and forth is getting a little too much.
Ron from H.P.
Well guess what Paula? I agree with the other posters, because just in case what you say is not a fact, we are going to have to listen to their inconsiderate ramblings each and every race that Black Caviar continues to win and that is what is inapropriate here. You don’t get it. There is a time and a place. This is not the place.
Sharon from Red Bluff
Well, obviously Cindy, Animal Kingdom won the Kentucky Derby! Dottie is a lady and of course she would congratulate the winners. She would never be rude enough to stir up what you have been stirring. To go on and on about another horse on her website is shameful to say the least. What is keeping you from Black Caviars’ website?
Ron from H.P.
I would pause to think, Cindy from LA, that after 13 straight winning races, if the Owners or handlers wanted Zenyatta to congratulate Black Caviar on this website they would have done so by now.
Ron from H.P.
Thank you Jennifer!
Laura
Wherever Cindy from LA came from – she needs to go back!!!
suew
The only way I know anything about Black Caviar is from what is posted in this diary. From what I know of racing these two females are leagues apart as far as their abilities go. Zenny was one for the distance…the longer the better and she could dust them all without working up a lather. She was just that good. The other horse is a sprinter. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. Zenyatta is a horse for the ages, one of the rare ones with that “It” factor. I guess I’m another who honestly would prefer that discussions about Black Caviar be done on her site.

@Max
Please stay as you are!!! All of your information
And kind words about Zenyatta very much reflect
Dottie/Z model. And yes Dottie
And Z mention other horses. They even mentioned
Frankel a few posts ago. Talking current horseracing
Is a part of this site !!!!!
Sweet Dreams Zenny!!!!!
Laura
@Cindy from LA
Please don’t you stay! Or at least find something else to do with your time but post here every three or four postings. You only reflect the Cindy/LA model.
Olivia
Cindy from LA?! Is a nightmare!
Max
@Cindy from LA. I have no plans to head to Australia. Until a few days ago, I did not even know that the other horse existed, but I was happy to learn about her. I posted the story only because it mentioned Zenyatta. As we both know, Zenyatta is not and never will be intimidated by any other horse on this planet. She accepts that she is the Queen. So do we.
AJ
@Suew,
Spoken like a true lady. With gentleness and kindness and other’s considerations placed ahead of our own.
Vicki B.
@Doreen – I think what you wrote was well-said. Horses should be “appreciated for their ability, courage, heart, and their will to win.” Thanks. I haven’t had any problem with hearing about any horse’s accomplishments here. I find it all interesting, because the subject of horseracing is pretty new to me. Zenyatta is retired, she isn’t “competing” with any horses now, so who exactly is being hurt by news of others? No one is dissing other Moss or Shirreffs horses, nor are other horses “taking over” the focus, and I wouldn’t want that. Zenyatta has room for all, I still contend.

Dear Zenny
Thanks so much for this website. Please pray
For Laura she just does not seem to fit in. I know
That toucan help INSPIRE her to become a better
Person. Thanks for being all you can be. If you were
Not open minded to be so kind gentle and focused
In your career we would not have this website.
Enjoy your morning with your BBF. And please pray
For Laura!!!!!
