Happy Saturday Everyone!
I hope all of you are getting ready to have a wonderful weekend! I have been out grazing and ENJOYING LIFE THE ZENYATTA WAY! As I have mentioned to you before, the grass is amazing here. I’m really getting an opportunity to enjoy and experience the famous KENTUCKY BLUE GRASS! Also, look at the absolutely GORGEOUS CLOUDS! This environment is very special! I feel so fortunate!
Dottie LOVES this photo of ME…and she really wanted to share it with ALL of YOU! She thinks it almost looks like a painting of ME…rather than a photo! My coat is so healthy and I still have all of my dapples! She commented to ME that I look FABULOUS! Blush, Blush!
Also, thank you for all of your kind comments for Dawn Conrad. It truly is a GREAT PHOTO OF HER! You are right…she does look very HAPPY!
Everything else is going well! It is only one week to the Preakness so there is a buzz about that race everywhere. The Peter Pan runs today which is a warm-up for the Belmont. It is nice to see that the New York Racing Association brought this race back this year. Last year it was put ‘on hold’ due to budget cuts, so it is great to see this stake back on the schedule again. It should be a very exciting race!
I also want to mention another terrific thing that happened yesterday. My dear Family Friend, ALPHA MAMA, had an A.P. Indy colt last evening. Since A.P. INDY recently retired, this colt may be one of the last foals born to be sired by this amazing stallion. This baby is a big boy! He weighed in at 142 pounds and all is A-OK with both MOM and foal. This is TOO CUTE!
I’m just thinking ahead. 142 pounds…WOW! I know she is a very good-sized mare, but I would imagine that Alpha Mama is really glad that this foal is here and romping about now. This is all ‘food for thought’ for my future! I am really trying to keep up on all of these details and pieces of information as I continue to prepare for my next role…that of becoming a MOM!
Enjoy your day, today’s races, and your weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~Especially ALPHA MAMA and her new A.P. INDY Colt

@AudreyC–TOO CUTE and too true!

Wonderful photo of beautiful Zenyatta! I agree with Dottie…At first glance, I thought it was a painting..so gorgeous.

@Trina Nagele – Thanks for the link on Kincsem, that’s a great story. I’m going to synopsize it for a friend who also has a dear cat, but who is blind, so she can’t read links.
Kathy Kimber
@Max, I really appreciate the updates on Black Caviar. I know she is a sprinter a big difference from our Queen. BUT winning all those races is still just as hard I just hope she comes to the Breeder’s Cup this year.
Dear Z. You are the QUEEN I think you would be even more beautiful in a diamond tiara. Ha. I hope you are haveing a great day.
Kathy Kimber
A really lovely article about Kincsem thank you so much
Shema
Dear Z Z and Dottie,
This photo is so gorgeous. How lucky we are to have it here it enjoy. Indeed, if it ever becomes a poster for purchase, I would love to own one. Reminds me of a favorite painting of Man O’ War that I’m lucky enough to have.
Trina Nagele: thank you so much for this link on Kincsem (foaled 1874)— http://www.tbheritage.com/Portraits/Kincsem.html
What an amazing story. 54 wins and no defeats. How incredible! I love the stories of her personality. Trotting over to winners circle, getting flowers in her headband from her owner with each win, particular about her food and water, her love for the lad Frankie and a very special cat. What a wonderful story. Thanks for posting!
Jenn
Why are the pictures so small? The pictures are so pretty but way TOO SMALL to use as a desktop background. *cries* I miss having pretty pics of you, Zenyatta!! Please ask if the pictures can be made BIGGER! I have no cute pics of you since you’ve retired!!!!! And this picture is a lovely one of you! Best of luck in becoming a momma!! It would be TOO CUTE to see a picture of you with a baby by your side!
AJ from CA
@LauraJ – thanks for link on the great Kincsem….loved the part where she wouldn’t budge getting on the train until her little cat buddy was located whom she was quite fond of.
@Max – Black Caviar reminds me lots of our Z. She races with her ears priced forward and seems to like the paparazzi..just missing the dancing steps which Z could probably teach her.
Sharon Call
@Catherine Uher. So glad you’re back and I hope you’re feeling well.
@audreyc. What a hoot! I just loved that.
@Margaret. I really enjoy your posts and learn something new from each one of them. I hope you keep posting this information.
@Cindy in LA. I’m just curious. Did The Mosses or Dottie appoint you the “morals police” on this site. I’m just not sure why you seem to think it’s up to you to direct other posters as to what’s acceptable and what’s not. Everyone on this site is speculating about Z’s status as a possible expectant mom but no one is pushing for information. We all do the same thing I do. Every time a new post comes up, I wonder if that’s the one that will tell us if Z is, indeed, pregnant or “In foal”. I think that’s pretty natural for all us since we love her so much.
Cindy from LA
Wilburn just won Allowance Race 9 at Churchill Downs.
Yeah!!!!! Bernie. He is now 17 hands. Steve is taking
His time with him. Mike Smith did not ride him. Maybe
Because it was at Churchill? Lots are commenting
On his great mind. Bernie had definitely passed that
On to his crops. E has also has a royal sound mind.
Very important for a youngster.
Debbie in CO
Beautiful picture of you Z! That’s the first thing I thought when I first saw it, that it looks like a painting! Just gorgeous, you are, you are!!!!
That one ought to be made into 8X10’s and available for purchase.
Rosemarie Cola
Cant wait Momma! Just let us know when all it’s definete and we can start celebrating!
Debbie G
@Max-I would love to read any more articles you can get about Black Caviar, so please post a link to them if you don’t mind. Thanks a bunch! :-)
Cindy from LA
@Max
Too bad Black Caviar’s connections don’t want
To have her travel internationally. She could join
Frankel, Goldikova and Canford Cliff in BC Mile.
One of the most wonderful BC Miles was when Da Hoss
Won in 1998 after one allowance prep and 2 years off.
His trainer was sooo awesome at training him around
His chronic hock arthritis. He was a horse who was driven
To win. Think he is at KY Horse Park.

I am sorry, but that seems extremely rude and ungrateful Debbie G. This is Zenyatta’s website and if you would like to ‘talk Black Caviar’ look up that website! I have been there myself and did not stay long. The point being, theirs is not a “Zenyatta” website and this is not a “Black Caviar” website. We all understand a few comments, but let’s respect what Zenyatta’s team will be reading tonight!!
Dawn Conrad
Dearest, Zenyatta. I love this picture of you!! You look just TOO BEAUTIFUL
Barbara S.
Thank you Aaron! I was holding back on broaching the subject myself. I feel that it is embarrassing and inconsiderate. Not taking into account the feelings of Zenny’s team. A little bit is one thing, but “REIGN IT IN!” this is not http://www.blackcaviar.au.
Thank you!
Maria
Wow!
@Aaron and Barbara
I appreciate the honest critique. I was tired of logging on and reading about Black Caviar. They have a website HELLO!!!
@Sharon C. and thank you! You are always so proper, and today you said it perfectly for me and I am sure for so many others.
Max
The main interest of everyone who visits this website is Zenyatta. One of the things that Zenyatta stands for is bringing the fans back to racing. She is the great Queen of this sport and no one comes close to her own unique accomplishments either on the track or as a role model. However, to show an interest in other horses who resemble her or who are following in her hoof steps shows no disrespect to her or Team Z. The great and powerful Zenyatta will always be number 1.
Barbara Wood
@ Audreyc–LOVED your 7 stages of riding. If I were a rider, I’d already be at #7, since I just had knee replacement–lol!
Dear Zenny–I see it’s a lot colder there now. I keep Lexington weather on my personal weather page so I can always keep tabs on what’s going on weather-wise there. You snuggle in tonight. Love you always.
Aaron
@ Barbara
I believe it’s http://www.blackcaviar.net.au
Anyway, anything to get these ungrateful fans away from Zs website – I will assist with. It appears to be out of order at the moment. I have seen it too. This is Zenyatta’s website and the owners have spent and are continuing to spend their hard earned money on everything related to HER. They have also been more than kind to us. This is not just an “any horse website!” Some people unfortunately do need a lesson in basic manners.
Dawn Conrad
Sorry, Zenny. I hit the enter key by mistake, with my first message. As I was saying, you look just TOO BEAUTIFUL!!! I know what you mean about the Bluegrass, it does look good enough to eat, although I have not tried any myself. Such a marvelous shade of green, it just has to be healthy for you. It really is like a painting. With the rolling hills, fence lines that stretch for miles, flowers blooming, massive shade trees, bountiful brooks, cooling ponds and barns standing like sentinels that are fit for a Queen like you Zenny. Of course then you add the final touch, horses! Hundreds of marvelous horses!! Amazing!! Thank you for mentioning me in your diary, it is special beyond words!! I agree, everyone has been absolutely wonderful with their congratulations and I love each post I read so much for it’s positive, uplifting, generousity of spirit. THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERY ONE!!!!!!!!!!! How the heart blossoms, when it is touched by kindness. Speaking of blossoms, Zenny, I have been planting roses today and thought wouldn’t be fantastic if there was a rose named after you. That would be TOO CUTE!! I watched the Peter Pan and along with you I am so excited about the Preakness. It is so wonderful to see our John headed to Baltimore, with Mr. Commons. I wish him the very best racing luck and a safe and sound journey for all. Congratulations to your friend ALPHA MAMA, she really is an ALPHA MAMA with a lovely big colt like that. And yes, Zenny, you keep up on all of this Mom informtion coming your way. I am sure it will be very helpful in the “near” future. I had a pear for lunch and thought again of you. Lots of love, gorgeous. Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses.
The Kennedys in San Diego
An absolutely beautiful photo of you — yes, it does look like a painting. Have been somewhat haunted by your standing on the hill for hours looking out over the bluegrass wondering what you are thinking.
Jennifer from KY
@Max, I disagree. When one wishes to go on and on about another horse’s accomplishments that are already known, that person belongs on that particular website communicating with those fans. We all appreciate the accomplishments of other horses, but there is a fine line and that is what you are not taking into consideration. Zenyatta’s owners and handlers already know what other horses are doing, and like all of us, do not mind a little refreshening, but yes, it does diminish their gift of a Zenyatta website by the continual boasting of other horses on this website. Zenyatta is a retired racehorse and it is unusual that she still continues to break records in the areas of fund-raising, charities, etc. Please honor their horse; ie. horses, their trainers, and their jockeys on this website.
Gerrie P.
Wow, Wow, Wow! What a gorgeous photo of Zenyatta. She is so exquisite; even more so in such a beautiful setting.
Thank you so much.
Judy
Let’s suffice it to say, it would be similar to having a guest attend a dinner at your home that you prepared, and this guest repeatedly remarks on the dinner he just had at ‘so and so’s house. Once is sufficient, it is impolite after that.
Anita
@Debbie G. and Max
Do us all a favor and Get a Room on Black Caviar’s website. You can hook up there.
Kathy Kimber
@Karri Bussell, I hope you are alright you haven’t posted for a couple of days and I always enjoy your posts, take care, hugs and prayers.
Now, just because I’m enjoying Black Caviar does not mean I don’t love Zenyatta because I do she is my forever Horse. Like most people on this site I love all horses and really enjoy the various links people post. Maybe all you cranky people need to take a nap.
Anita
@Max
FYI:
This is ZENYATTA’S WEBSITE. We go to other horse’s websites to continually talk about those horses!
Max
@Jennifer from KY. I actually agree with you. Zenyatta and the other horses of the Mosses are first always. If anyone who has met the Queen at her Barn or the track or who just attended one of her races would like to tell us about that, I would like to read about those things most of all. Any details about Zenyatta would be welcome.
