Happy Saturday Everyone!
I hope all of you are getting ready to have a wonderful weekend! I have been out grazing and ENJOYING LIFE THE ZENYATTA WAY! As I have mentioned to you before, the grass is amazing here. I’m really getting an opportunity to enjoy and experience the famous KENTUCKY BLUE GRASS! Also, look at the absolutely GORGEOUS CLOUDS! This environment is very special! I feel so fortunate!
Dottie LOVES this photo of ME…and she really wanted to share it with ALL of YOU! She thinks it almost looks like a painting of ME…rather than a photo! My coat is so healthy and I still have all of my dapples! She commented to ME that I look FABULOUS! Blush, Blush!
Also, thank you for all of your kind comments for Dawn Conrad. It truly is a GREAT PHOTO OF HER! You are right…she does look very HAPPY!
Everything else is going well! It is only one week to the Preakness so there is a buzz about that race everywhere. The Peter Pan runs today which is a warm-up for the Belmont. It is nice to see that the New York Racing Association brought this race back this year. Last year it was put ‘on hold’ due to budget cuts, so it is great to see this stake back on the schedule again. It should be a very exciting race!
I also want to mention another terrific thing that happened yesterday. My dear Family Friend, ALPHA MAMA, had an A.P. Indy colt last evening. Since A.P. INDY recently retired, this colt may be one of the last foals born to be sired by this amazing stallion. This baby is a big boy! He weighed in at 142 pounds and all is A-OK with both MOM and foal. This is TOO CUTE!
I’m just thinking ahead. 142 pounds…WOW! I know she is a very good-sized mare, but I would imagine that Alpha Mama is really glad that this foal is here and romping about now. This is all ‘food for thought’ for my future! I am really trying to keep up on all of these details and pieces of information as I continue to prepare for my next role…that of becoming a MOM!
Enjoy your day, today’s races, and your weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~Especially ALPHA MAMA and her new A.P. INDY Colt

Love you so much Z!! What an absolutely beautiful picture of you! Dottie, it really does look like a painting!! Then again, Z, I don’t think you could look bad in anything! Thanks so much Team Z for the updates!

Congratulations to Alpha Mama and her bundle of joy! Since it is the last foal for A.P. Indy.. maybe they could name it A.P.’S FINALE… thats kinda cute! That photo does look like a portrait! You are so beautiful Zenyatta and you will no doubt have a good size baby too! Oh Yeah.. you will be the bestest Momma ever!!<3
Max
Cindy from LA. It looks like his trainer thinks that he can win against all comers. I would not count out either Goldikova or Frankel. I did not really like that comment about her age. It is great that Goldikova is still racing and winning. As someone else said here, it is better and safer for some horses to develop in their own time like Zenyatta.

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, I told you a couple of postings ago that when I close my eyes and open the windows of my mind, I can see you standing on top of a hill, taking everything in and grazing on the Ky Bluegrass. When I saw this maginifecent photo of YOU by Sarah, I felt she took the photo I was seeing in my mind! I just couldn’t believe I was seeing in print what I have seen in my mind! That’s how I see you when I think of you enjoying your days at Land’s End. Grazing on that wonderful Ky Bluegrass, enjoying the life of a Champion, dancing, racing with the wind, rolling & resting with the sun glowing down on your beautiful coat and not having to worry about anything. I am so thankful for the retirement The Mosses have Blessed you with. I love you, Zenyatta so much. Tell Dottie, I absolutely love the photo too and THANK her for sharing it and for the wonderful POST as always! I’m so happy for ALPHA MAMA & A.P. INDY’s Foal. What a miracle to behold of new life. I wish your Family Friend the Best with Mom & Foal! Sending Hugs & Kisses To YOU From Alabama With Love, Amanda G.

That picture is gorgeous! You are definitely picture perfect Zenyatta-truly a masterpiece! So happy to here that your friend Alpha Mama had her baby, an A.P.Indy colt, such fantastic news. You will surely have a foal all your own before you know it-get ready for the time of your life. Enjoy yourself sweetie, keep on sparkling and shining, you are brighter than any star up above. Thanks for lighting up my life! Love you more than you know. Hugs and kisses to you.

Beautiful picture of Zenyatta!! I can understand why this is Dottie’s favorite..it truly does look like a painting. That’s what I thought when I first saw it. THANK YOU Dottie for sharing!!
Mary
Beautiful picture, and, as everyone is saying, it does look like a beautiful painting. Wow, Zenyatta, you just keep us so in love with you.
Ask your humans if we might be able to see you this summer? Hugs and Prayers

@Max
Yes, I agree. I did not like her trainers comment
About her age. To win all that she has and the Breeders
Cup Mile 3 times is sooo awesome. I hope she is up for
Eclipse HOY again. She may be the greatest
Female miler. Should be some very interesting
European Mile races this year. Thanks for all of the
Great updates.

Glad to hear ALPHA MAMA and colt are doing well. Lots to learn about being a “mama” and when it happens to you, Z, you will be a great mom…I just know it!!! I keep looking at the picture and it is just amazing…so calming! I wonder if a print would be available for purchase..would love to look at you so serene and calm grazing in your pasture. Again, thanks Dottie for thinking about us.

This is the definition of “pastoral portrait” with the subject being the most exquisite creature on earth! Yes you, beautiful Zen. Thank you Sarah and Dottie, as always you bring us the best moments in Zenny’s new life. And thank you all for the new information and links. Love to hear how everyone is doing.

You look so beautiful Zenyatta. We all miss you and love you very much! Hugs & Kisses to you. XXXOOXXX

HI beautiful girl. Maybe it’s the picture but are you expecting, or are you drinking alot of guiness?? Maybe it’s just me, but it seems you look alittle heavier than I remember. Which there is nothing wrong with that!!! If so, don’t tell us until that “certain” week.. I love you and I can’t wait until you have a baby. She will be the luckiest foul on earth. You look fabulous and very content. oxoxoxxo

Awww…I have had a terrible day and a diary post from you…like a dose of medicine. You always manage to put a smile on my face: ) So glad you are enjoying your day and Dottie is right ..you look amazing in this photo but you always do: )

Dearest Zenyatta, Unlike most of us, you have never taken a poor picture. The camera absolutely loves you, and bad hair days are something which you know not of! You exude a regal persona which translates magically into the heart of every photo. This latest example of you blessing the blue grass with your presence is no exception. You have adapted so well to change and have been so willing to embrace a totally different life than that to which you had become accustomed. We can all learn so much from your example. Change is one of the most difficult lessons to learn for everyone!
I totally agree that it is super that the NYRA re-instituted the Peter Pan Stakes, which is a major prep for the Belmont. You would have wowed them at “the big sandy!” Speaking of “wow” effects, how about your friend Alpha Mama? That is quite a bouncing baby boy. Maybe you will be in the same position next year at this time!

Picture Perfect!!

@LauraJ, Audreyc and other admirers of Kincsem (foaled 1874)— In the story today about Black Caviar (“The horse that stops a nation”)that Max linked to, they refer to Kincsem and how Black Caviar won’t break Kincsem’s 54-0 record. Unfortunately, they didn’t recall that Kincsem was a mare (they referred to her as a “he”), but thanks to you two, I remembered. Thanks for intoducing her to me. Well said. Zenny has lost her racing body and has
Put on some weight to keep the hormones brewing.
All this talk about foals and pregnancy is not appropriate
Zenny should be allowed her privacy as requested
By Team Z and Team LE. I don’t even think the embryo
Would be the size of a potatoe probably a pea.
PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF HER PRIVACY AS
SHE HAS ASKED !!!!! I Know posters on this site
Don’t seem to care about it but it is a boundary that
Should not be crossed!!!!!

Dearest Queen Zenyatta,
You look so, so lovely in this photo. Just seeing it fills my heart with joy.
So glad you’re getting to enjoy the bluegrass. We finally had a bit of rain here in South Texas so everyone is staring at the grass and praying it will grow.
I’m very excited about the Preakness—it’s always one of my favorite races of the year. I’ll have my fingers crossed for Mr. Commons and will be cheering him on!
Yippee for Alpha Mama–sounds like that guy came out ready to race! :)
Hugs and kisses to you, Z, and have a lovely Sunday with your pals.
Love,
Stel
