Happy Saturday Everyone!
I hope all of you are getting ready to have a wonderful weekend! I have been out grazing and ENJOYING LIFE THE ZENYATTA WAY! As I have mentioned to you before, the grass is amazing here. I’m really getting an opportunity to enjoy and experience the famous KENTUCKY BLUE GRASS! Also, look at the absolutely GORGEOUS CLOUDS! This environment is very special! I feel so fortunate!
Dottie LOVES this photo of ME…and she really wanted to share it with ALL of YOU! She thinks it almost looks like a painting of ME…rather than a photo! My coat is so healthy and I still have all of my dapples! She commented to ME that I look FABULOUS! Blush, Blush!
Also, thank you for all of your kind comments for Dawn Conrad. It truly is a GREAT PHOTO OF HER! You are right…she does look very HAPPY!
Everything else is going well! It is only one week to the Preakness so there is a buzz about that race everywhere. The Peter Pan runs today which is a warm-up for the Belmont. It is nice to see that the New York Racing Association brought this race back this year. Last year it was put ‘on hold’ due to budget cuts, so it is great to see this stake back on the schedule again. It should be a very exciting race!
I also want to mention another terrific thing that happened yesterday. My dear Family Friend, ALPHA MAMA, had an A.P. Indy colt last evening. Since A.P. INDY recently retired, this colt may be one of the last foals born to be sired by this amazing stallion. This baby is a big boy! He weighed in at 142 pounds and all is A-OK with both MOM and foal. This is TOO CUTE!
I’m just thinking ahead. 142 pounds…WOW! I know she is a very good-sized mare, but I would imagine that Alpha Mama is really glad that this foal is here and romping about now. This is all ‘food for thought’ for my future! I am really trying to keep up on all of these details and pieces of information as I continue to prepare for my next role…that of becoming a MOM!
Enjoy your day, today’s races, and your weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~Especially ALPHA MAMA and her new A.P. INDY Colt

Dearest Sweet “Z”,
That is just TOO SWEET and TOO CUTE! Good for ALPHA MAMA! I must have been a bit of an alpha mama too when I delivered, my son weighed 9 lbs 13 oz! Yikes! And he was my first and only :) My father always really liked A.P. INDY so I am sure he is following this wonderful story. Thank you Dottie for sharing such a beautiful photo of “Z”! I too, thought it looked like an oil painting when I first saw it. Simply extraordinary…as is she and ALL OF Y.O.U.! Have a lovely day. I am cheering for TIZ GIANNI and hoping for an exciting debut!
Maggie
Zenny, what a GORGEOUS photo of you…of course all photos of you are!!! Enjoy your day with your pals..(Hi PQ) Love you sweet Zen…

Oh Zenyatta. You have a special “GLOW” about you in this picture!
Absolutely GORGEOUS Big MAMMA!!!!!!!!
YAY Alpha Mamma and baby!!!!…So happy for you you!!!!!

Zenny/Dottie even before I read the post I saw the picture and thought it was a painting! It is an amazing photo. Way to go Sarah! Everyone enjoy your weekend. Black Caviar won her 13th in Australia. They feel about her the way we feel about Zenyatta (kind of LOL). However there is a difference. Black Caviar is simply a sprinter and Zenyatta raced at longer distances. She will always be the Queen of Racing and Queen of our hearts. Nothing will ever change that.

What a beautiful photo Zenny. I do agree with Dottie it does look like a painting. I must agree with Wendy from St. Louis you do appear to have put on some weight. Could it be???? Have a wonderful weekend & enjoy the Kentucky Blue Grass!!!

@ AUDREY C: Loved your story about “Macaroni Pony”-what a great name! I do have a soft spot for ponies. I knew one once named “Jelly Jammy” who looked like a Thelwell pony-really cute!
@ TERRY CROW: That’s pretty cool about the Black Stallion exhibition. That boy looked like a good rider. I seem to remember that he lived on a ranch and had never acted. Loved the f/u on Jay Silverheels.
@ ANNE: I must have missed the posts about your horse. Do keep us up-dated!
@ ENSIGN,AUDREY C and anyone who likes ponies: go to YouTube and find “Ed the Pony Being Very Naughty” (I think that is right)-you’ll enjoy it!!

Zenny…as it is with all great beauties, you simply cannot take a bad picture. Many thanks to your friend, Sarah, for providing us with another stunning snapshot of you. Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday eating that bluegrass.
We are having boatloads of rain in Va. If you want to graze on our lawn we would love to have you!

Horses don’t start to “show” until they are many more months along. If Lady Z is “enceinte” at the moment, the foal probably isn’t even as big as a potato yet — hardly time for a big belly to be providing hints yet.
Let’s try not to start rumors — Team Z will announce the news when they know for sure there is news to announce.
Dontcha know it’s not polite to speculate about such things?? Allow the lady her privacy!
I’m just glad our dear Zenny is happy and healthy.

This beautiful picture does look like a painting and you look like you’re about to break out in dance! I can see that right front leg getting ready to make it’s move! How cute are you?! Thanks for sharing with us about Alpha Mama (love her name BTW) and her new A.P. Indy colt! Any news on when you and Bernardini plan to have a second date? :)
Big hugs and carrots to you Miss Zenyatta!
Diana
Dottie is right; it does look like a painting. Very beautiful! Love to you!

the photos really does look like a painting. Wish I could purchase 11″ x 17″. And the proceeds go to Charity that retrains horses like Zfortune. Have a good day Zenyatta.

@PEGGY: you’re right-in the scheme of things,we are neighbors! (neigh-bors?)
@MARGARET:Interesting info-I’ll have to check out the Marestare site.
@MARSHALL(GIRL’S NAME): I had a reddish-orange,molded plastic stickhorse that I named “Fury” (guess I should add “when I was a child”) that was my FAST stickhorse. My soft material-headed stickhorse was for “pleasure riding”!
@ ZENNY: Tomorrow I start my volunteer work at a horse rescue that I was inspired to do by hearing about Old Friend’s Equine Rescue from YOU!

I love your picture! You look like your are really enjoying your retirement. Great news on the A.P. Indy/Alpha mama big baby boy! Your ” father in law” has passed on some of those genes to your sweetie, but don’t worry you are a nice Queen size Mare and can handle a big foul too. Enjoy your life in Kentucky and your fun planning ahead for parenthood.

Beautiful Queen Zenyatta,
What a gorgious picture of YOU!! YOU look absolutely stunning! So glad to hear that you are happy and healthy.

@Susan in TN, @TERRY CROW, @audreyc, & @ENSIGN – From yesterday, loved the pony & horse stories, & old horse movies & TV shows, especially about The Black’s appearance at Santa Anita, and Macaroni Pony, what a great name. Not boring at all. Susan, I would love to hear one of your pony “Scout” stories, too, but I will lookup “Ed the Pony…” on Youtube. I liked Mr. Ed’s “attitude”. I loved watching The Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy, & Sugarfoot. And Horse movies: The Man From Snowy River, My Friend Flicka, Misty of Chincoteague, Shane and many other Westerns.
@Anne from Paramount – I liked the excerpt from your Letter to the Editor about Barry Irwin’s comments, so I tried to go to Thoroughbred Times’ site, but couldn’t find it, but maybe I would need to register and subscribe, first, I’ll consider that. I know what you mean about it being nice to tell people about your letters being published, it’s a good feeling — I felt great to have a few letters printed in the newspaper, over the years.

Hi Zenny girlfriend!
Before I read the posting, I, too, thought that was a gorgeous painting of you.
———
What makes me smile :-) is knowing you are HAPPY, CONTENT, and HEALTHY ~ otherwise, I’d miss you even more. But, you are being a “horse” and that’s what is important!
———
I have to respect your privacy and all about if you are already with foal or not. Peeps try to read between the lines, but I’ll just chill and wait for further news from the horses mouth ;-) ~ YOU!

HAPPY SATURDAY IN THE BLUE GRASS!!

Beautiful picture….Dottie was right. Z…you are so blessed to have Dottie to help you with all this computer and administrative stuff so you can have time to graze on that beautiful grass. I wonder if a horse feels like us women…when that baby is out…you feel like jumping for joy. Hugs to you Z….
