Happy Saturday Everyone!
I hope all of you are getting ready to have a wonderful weekend! I have been out grazing and ENJOYING LIFE THE ZENYATTA WAY! As I have mentioned to you before, the grass is amazing here. I’m really getting an opportunity to enjoy and experience the famous KENTUCKY BLUE GRASS! Also, look at the absolutely GORGEOUS CLOUDS! This environment is very special! I feel so fortunate!
Dottie LOVES this photo of ME…and she really wanted to share it with ALL of YOU! She thinks it almost looks like a painting of ME…rather than a photo! My coat is so healthy and I still have all of my dapples! She commented to ME that I look FABULOUS! Blush, Blush!
Also, thank you for all of your kind comments for Dawn Conrad. It truly is a GREAT PHOTO OF HER! You are right…she does look very HAPPY!
Everything else is going well! It is only one week to the Preakness so there is a buzz about that race everywhere. The Peter Pan runs today which is a warm-up for the Belmont. It is nice to see that the New York Racing Association brought this race back this year. Last year it was put ‘on hold’ due to budget cuts, so it is great to see this stake back on the schedule again. It should be a very exciting race!
I also want to mention another terrific thing that happened yesterday. My dear Family Friend, ALPHA MAMA, had an A.P. Indy colt last evening. Since A.P. INDY recently retired, this colt may be one of the last foals born to be sired by this amazing stallion. This baby is a big boy! He weighed in at 142 pounds and all is A-OK with both MOM and foal. This is TOO CUTE!
I’m just thinking ahead. 142 pounds…WOW! I know she is a very good-sized mare, but I would imagine that Alpha Mama is really glad that this foal is here and romping about now. This is all ‘food for thought’ for my future! I am really trying to keep up on all of these details and pieces of information as I continue to prepare for my next role…that of becoming a MOM!
Enjoy your day, today’s races, and your weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~Especially ALPHA MAMA and her new A.P. INDY Colt

Zenny brought us all to horseracing for one
reason or another. We all appreciate her
accomplishments on and off the track. She is
The Queen. Learning about all horses and
Horseracing is a part of this site. Thanks for all
Your contributions!!!!!

I just met your daddy Z!!!!!! Street Cry was such a gentleman. He was so handsome. He looked VERY wise!!!!! He shined so bright in the Kentucky sun. All of a sudden guess who came out for a walk….BERNI!!! I do have to say that he is probably THE MOST HANDSOME boy I have ever seen!!!! I think He knew that I was going to tell you about it, because right when he saw me, HE CHEWED ON HIS LEAD ROPE!!!! You are so right Z..That IS SUCH AN ATTRACTIVE QUALITY!!!!! Your half brother Street Sense was also a very sweet boy. Kentucky farms sure are amazing Z!!!I’m so happy that you get to live at Lanes End. It is truly heaven on Earth!
I am new to all of this horse racing stuff. There is so much to learn. My week in Kentucky was a dream come true, and it was all because of you!!!!!
Max
@Cindy from LA. It looks like you bear a resemblance to the Queen. No one intimidates you either. Others have spent more time on the Australian horse than us. Z rules.

For all of us that read and enjoy this this website, it does not belong to you, so spoken like the gentleman I am, “Please shush up!”
Terry from S.A.
I’d like to second – shut the hell up! No explanations necessary.

You sound histerical Cindy. You proved your point. Now go to bed and give this Diary and US a rest.

@ Margaret: “Anthropomorphic” might be an antiquated term – although I do not mean to single you out, and I recognize that many “beliefs” hold true for a long time, after they have been scientifically invalidated. Initially, the term referred to attributing “human’ traits to animals. The difference between animals and humans, historically, was ascribed as “only humans use tools.”. That was negated, when science prooved that, even birds, use tools. Then, more recently – it was – only “humans” are self-aware. Well, guess what – it has been scientifically proven that dolphins, certain apes, and elephants, are “self-aware.” We keep trying to separate ourselves from the other living beings, with whom we share more than we, perhaps, want to admit. We are animals – more intelligent, and definitely, more powerful. We have the capacity to do both more good, and more destruction, than anything else. A few years back, I volunteered as a horse handler for a premier therapeutic riding facility. “Bisbee” was an older appaloosa, who could not tolerate anyone going near his head. But, he was a trustworthy horse, regarding children. I lead him, many times, and he would often nip at my elbow …consequence – I had bruises. There was a special weekend set, for parents of terminal cancer children patients. I was assigned “Bisbee” – oh, no. The child who picked “Bisbee”, was a child that was born with Down’s Syndrome. At 8 years old, he developed autism. At ten years old, he was diagnosed with cancer. This child looked at Bisbee, and promptly put his forefinger right up Bisbee’s nose. Bisbee – the horse that didn’t like anyone touching his face – did nothing. That child rode Bisbee that weekend, and we did a whole labyrinth stint. Why was Bisbee so tolerate? I guess, “anthropomorphism.” Perhaps, animals are far more perceptive than we. For me, it was a miracle…

Ron from H.P. no one has the right to tell people what to write, including you. If people continue to attack others on this site, it may have a short life span. No one is turning this into a Black Caviar site. On the contrary, you are taking comments out of context and attacking people for the mere mention of her name. What nonsense. We are ALL here for Zenyatta. It does not mean all other horses cannot be discussed or mentioned. Who made you the arbiter of what the right time and place is by the way? Simply laughable. Dottie is generous of heart where other horses are concerned, even if you are not. Do not pretend to know what she thinks, because you do not.
Laura
Pray for yourself, Cindy.
Vicki B.
@Cindy from LA – You are mistaken in believing I would want to be a part of your disagreements with Laura, or anybody else, — don’t try to use me, that is neither welcome nor kind.
Paula Higgins
AudreyC, that is a wonderful story. ITA that animals/horses can sense things like a fragile child and respond in kind. They are true gifts from GOD.
Vicki B.
@audreyc – What a great story about “Bisbee”. And funny, Thanks.
Shema
Wow, this is very sad. I can see at some point this blog could be shut down if these wierd posts continue. This is embarrassing. Zenyatta is such a class act. I’m quite sad some of the posts here are not respectful to each other. I was coming here for my love of Zenyatta and her team. And my deep appreciation for the healing I was receiving around my love of horses. I’ve appreciated learning about other wonderful horses in some of the posts too.
If the rudeness continues I will stop coming to this site. Thank you Dottie for all you’ve done. Human beings are so disappointing sometimes.
Coming to this site tonight has been outright traumatizing listening to all the stress.
So sad.

@Audreyc, just loved your “seven stages”; like some of the others, it had me laughing out loud. Thanks-a good feeling. :)

The Zenyatta website monitor put in place by themselves???
surely not by Z and Dottie.

WELL, HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH THE IMMATURE BEHAVIOR DICTATING WHAT EACH OF US IS PERMITTED TO DISCUSS AND TELLING OTHERS TO “SHUT UP”! JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE SHARES SOME NEWS ABOUT OTHER HORSES DOES NOT IMPLY ANY DISLOYALTY TO ZENYATTA NOW DOES IT? PLEASE, WE’RE ALL ADULTS. LET’S DISCONTINUE THE JUDGEMENTAL AND CRUEL COMMENTS. THINK WHAT YOU LIKE BUT SOME THINGS ARE NOT MEANT TO ESPRESSED ON A PUBLIC SITE. IT SEEMS THAT PEOPLE ARE JUST SHARING THEIR INTEREST IN HORSES IN VARIOUS WAYS, NOT NECESSARILY FOR US TO APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE OF.
Beth from VA
@Cindy
You have had the last word. Or 1,000 words. Good bye Cindy, whoever you are – I hope!
Robert
Whoever made them, it was obviously your mission to beat them! Thank you for taking the joy out of this otherwise very joyful website Cindy!
Maria K.
What a wonderful picture. You look so beautiful Queen Z. I cannot hardly wait til you become a Mommy. I have my fingers crossed. You’ll be a great mom someday. I love you! Hugs and kisses. Have fun outside.

@Cindy at LA and Bridge. Street Cry won the Dubai when he was 4 in 2002. According to his trainer at Darley, he could not run at 3 in the Triple Crown for health reasons. For those who may be interested, the present English Derby favorite, Carlton House, was born in Kentucky and is the son of Street Cry and was given to Queen Elizabeth by Sheikh Mohammed. The Queen had previously given one of her colts to Darley. The English papers always mention Zenyatta when they talk about Street Cry. They call him, “Zenyatta’s dad.”

18 Posts in one day explains itself. Get a life or get off the crack pipe Cindy! At least get off this website!

What a great picture of Queen Z. It does look like a painting! After having several mares foal on my farm I find that each of the mares react differently to
weaning their babies. I have had good experience with the babies being weaned with a calm older gelding that has been placed with the mares and foals before weaning. When the mare or mares are removed from foals, the babies are already comfortable with the gelding and the other foals so it is easier on the babies.
The mares are the ones that notice the seperation the most, the quicker their bags dry up the faster they return to normal. By placing a few mares together that helps them also. I have been lucky that I always try to have a kind, smart gelding when it comes to weaning time.

@Cindy from LA – I told you not to use me, that it is neither welcome nor kind, but you refused to stop. So I can only add that what you’re doing is hurtful, and dishonest. That’s all I can say, which unfortunately, you are likely happy about, since you are praying for people to disappear.
Brandon S.
@ Cindy
You are INSANE!
