Good Morning,
Happy Friday (the 13th)!
I hope ALL of you are doing very well. Everything here is fabulous. I am feeling terrific, doing GREAT, and very, very happy! It is gorgeous here at Lane’s End and the time I’m able to spend outside is so relaxing. I like to stand on the top of the hill and just look around for hours. It reminds me so much of what I would do each day at Barn 55! My paddock friends are all so sweet and we have a wonderful time together!
I want to introduce you to our ZENYATTA BRONZE CONTEST WINNER, DAWN CONRAD, of Cedaredge, Colorado. She has received #19 of ME! Here she is holding ME right after she opened the box! I am so excited…and so is DAWN!
Again, I’d like to thank all of you who participated in the contest. Dottie and John have saved ALL of your postcards. You are all SO SWEET and wrote so many special things! Thank you so much for all of your kind words and thoughts!
Again, CONGRATULATIONS to our winner, DAWN!
Have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Congrats to Dawn. The only way she could be happier, is if she were holding on to you, Zenny. Thank you Team Z for making this all possible.

@Judy Berube. You’re welcome.
@Amy K. I drew my comment from Ensign’s explanation of how Lasix works and why it’s used – to allow bleeding in the lungs to be channeled through the kidneys. Z had Lasix before her races. I remember reading that John said that he always had to be there when she was given this drug. I, too, take Lasix for swelling in my lower legs. It draws the fluid out of my body through the kidneys and in no way gives me more energy but keeps me from swelling up like a blow fish. It’s a diuretic, as Ensign explained, and it’s sole intent is to manage excess fluid including bleeding. This is why I don’t believe it’s a performance enhancer but keeps the bleeding in the horse’s lungs, if it’s significant, from overcoming the horse. Hope to hear back from Ensign about this.

@Ensign
You are truley and arrogant, self-centered passive aggressive manipulative jerk. Did you not hear all the posters in #235
tell you they are tired of you interjecting things that are not on subject !!!! Lasix and Pulmonary Hemmorhage was discussed
a few posts ago thoroughly so your retineration of what you read on the internet is not wanted.
In addition, Dottie and Zenyatta have told us information about her paddock mates is confidential. You are not all of the above
but unethical as well which is not a new realization.
As for the ad nauseum group, get a grip. You are acting like
co-dependent females. The only true women on this site
with any sense of themselves are Zenny, Dottie, Ann and the other Barn 55 women. Read the book codependence no more
and get a better self-esteem and sense of yourself. This guy
is a jerk and continues to bring his arrogance, insensitivity
and low class to this site. YOU SHOULD GO AWAY AS REQUESTED BY MANY ON #235. YOUR UNETHICAL INSIDE INFORMATION IS NOT WANTED OR APPRECIATED.
@Trina
You are not the moderator of this site so get a grip and be real.

Thinking of you lots today and hope you’re outside enjoying the nice Spring weather. Watched some of the videos last night of you Zenyatta, that your John has on youtube. I always feel better after I watch them, you always amaze me more and more. Thanks for all that you continue to do for me, I love you lots and lots. Hugs to you sweetie!

How beautiful!! Thank you for sharing the lovely, wonderful photo with sculpture #19 of our queen, Zenyatta! The glow of happiness reflected in the smile on Dawn’s face is another beautiful testament to the magic that Zenyatta has. I’m sure all of the postcards were beautiful, but the words that Dawn wrote were so similar to what is in my own heart – such a love for horses and above all, the love of Zenyatta. Thank you for sharing this moment with the rest of us.

Hi Zenny, That bronze of you is really beautiful and I’m sure that Dawn will treasure it forever. She was so lucky to be the winner of the contest. Glad to know you are staying Happy there at Lanes End. We still miss you very much here in California when we were able to go visit you in between seeing you race. When I think of you in my mind I can only see you at barn 55. That is an instilled picture in my thoughts of you. Sending you my love.

@ TERRY CROW: Just read your post and laughed and laughed! What a great story-and a happy one for “Scout.” What did the boy do at the exhibition with the Black Stallion horse? When my kids were little, we got a pony(well,a pony foal-5 months old) and they insisted that we name him Scout after the Lone Ranger “Scout.” The pony was a strawberry roan-could not have looked LESS like TV Scout! Looking back,I don’t know what we were thinking,getting such a young pony for young children …but we had him until he died 2 years ago at the age of 26. We have so many funny, happy memories of him. He was totally reliable for them to ride within the confines of his agenda! He never did anything dangerous- he just had his idea of what was going to be done on any given day! We still miss him but know we were lucky to have him for so long.

@ Sharon Call: I’ve been trying to read as much as possible and can’t remember where I read Lasix may enhance performance, though not the intended use. Hopefully Ensign or others of our friends can clarify. Glad to hear it helps your discomfort. Also, missed the Repole article, thanks for the post – Hope to see him at Saratoga with a healthy MO.
@ Black Caviar: her race is at 1:50 am EST Saturday May 14 – maybe easier for the West coast gang to get their fix watching a girl run for the records like our Z! Good luck to everyone this weekend – come home safe to run another day.

I’m so happy for you, Dawn! Congratulations! Love you Zenny!

Happy Friday Zenny and Yay Dawn!!!! Zenny finally arrived. So happy for you. :) I finally broke down and ordered a Zenny for me since I usually don’t splurge on myself.
Thanks for the picture of Dawn and the visual of you “reigning” over your kingdom Zen-girl. How truly magnificent you must look just standing there, taking it all in. Hooves crossed and good wishes for you always Zenyatta!
Everyone have a great weekend and good luck to Black Caviar.
Lotsa love to all.

What a beautiful statue and so well deserved.
Enjoy!!!!
Sweet Dreams Zenny.

Here is another article on Frankel. It mentions the great Zenyatta and her Breeders’ Cup victory.

It is so distressing to come to Zenny’s site and read personal attacks. We have way too much to be thankful for to engage in such nonsense.
Dear Z–hope you are having a relaxing evening after a wonderful day. Love you always.

What a lovely picture of Dawn and her Zenyatta bronze #19. Dawn has an absolutely beatific glow, almost heavenly. Zenyatta and Dottie, thanks for the photo, the happy diary post, and everything else you do to keep us informed about your lives. Knowing that you and your family are well makes the world right for me. Love to you all.

@Ensign…I always enjoy eading your posts. Glad to know PQ also had her date…maybe Zenny and her can travel their pregnancy road together until it’s foaling time.

Just to add…this site is an amazing place. Even when negativity pops up it’s only from a few…and I do mean few. Team Z should write instructions for our govt. officials, advising them how to get things done in the best interests of all.

There is something among professionals called ETHICS. You DO NO DISCLOSE what is happening to your client’s property the horse. I hope that some owner will take you to task for your unprofessional conduct and get you removed from USING privileged material. If you want to educate here do it within the context of being appropriate and respectful of your employer and clients.

How exciting for you, Dawn!! That picture is the epitome of happiness! Congratulations, again! There is joy in Colorado!
Zenyatta, what a beautiful image you described of yourself on the hilltop. Makes me very happy for you! You are a poet and a sweetheart!
@Susan in TN: I, too, loved Mr.Ed as well as Fury, My Friend Flicka and all those wonderful equines! I used to pretend I was a wild horse sometimes when I was small. Yes, yes! Neigh! Neigh!
Let’s all play nice, just as Zenyatta does. We should model ourselves after the Queen and her Team! Leave the discordant notes out, please.
@Terry Crowe: Thanks for the super story of Scout — loved it!! Too cute!

@Gloria Jeanne— Thank you.

I’ve seen many an Academy Award winner looking not nearly as ecstatic with their statue!

Hi Zenny: Hope you had a wonderful day. Hey Dawn, you look very, very happy holding the #19 Zenyatta statue! Congratulations once again on your win. I know you will always treasure this special and precious gift from Mr. & Mrs. Moss and Team Z! It is absolutely gorgeous and much larger than I thought. I am looking forward to receiving mine.
@Ensign good to hear from you. Always enjoy your posts.
Take care Zenny, and have a nice weekend.
Love, Linda

So Frankel’s connections are still contemplating
His next race? Do you think it will be the Derby?
Do you know anything about the Dam of Carlton
house?
Linda Henderson
Good evening, dear Zenyatta. Thank you for sharing the picture of Dawn with her treasure. I’ll be she is still on Cloud 9. Or maybe Cloud 19!

Your discussion of ethics is well articulated and
Very pertinent. Zenny/Dottie have told us certain
info is confidential. When it is revealed on this site
it may implicate them and create issues for them
And her paddock mates owners. Of course being
Other directed and caring about others does not
Seem to be important for those who reveal this
Confidential information.

Sharon Call: Thanks for posting the article in Bloodhorse–interview with Mike Repole and an update on Uncle Mo. That was a great article. He is quite a man for putting Uncle Mo’s health first. To be at the Kentucky Derby and have to make a decision like that sure is a real test of character. I sure hope Mo is back to feeling like himself real soon.
