Good Morning,
Happy Friday (the 13th)!
I hope ALL of you are doing very well. Everything here is fabulous. I am feeling terrific, doing GREAT, and very, very happy! It is gorgeous here at Lane’s End and the time I’m able to spend outside is so relaxing. I like to stand on the top of the hill and just look around for hours. It reminds me so much of what I would do each day at Barn 55! My paddock friends are all so sweet and we have a wonderful time together!
I want to introduce you to our ZENYATTA BRONZE CONTEST WINNER, DAWN CONRAD, of Cedaredge, Colorado. She has received #19 of ME! Here she is holding ME right after she opened the box! I am so excited…and so is DAWN!
Again, I’d like to thank all of you who participated in the contest. Dottie and John have saved ALL of your postcards. You are all SO SWEET and wrote so many special things! Thank you so much for all of your kind words and thoughts!
Again, CONGRATULATIONS to our winner, DAWN!
Have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

@ Terry Crow,
.
Thanks for the story. Cass Ole'(the arabian stallion who played the main role of the Black Stallion in the movies) was truly a great ambassador for his breed. Did you know his white markings (4 white socks & a star) were dyed black for the movies? He was also an accomplished show horse and sire.

@ AJ from CA,

A sprinter is the term used for horses who race shorter distances. For TBs classically sprints are races from anywhere from 5 to 7 furlongs (under a mile). In other breeds sprint races are generally much shorter, the classic distance for QH sprinters is 440 yards or a 1/4 mile.

Hi Folks:
I saw Ensign’s post regarding the Preakness. Is anyone planning on going to the Preakness? I am going and it would be a great opportunity to meet and greet!
Judy (Maass) Gadwood Adores Zenny (CA)
I speed read!!! LOL If there’a a comment or posting not interesting to me… I move on. I don’t have time (or interested) to read some of the negative aka trash talk on here. I’ve been around Big Z and her connections enough to NOT get sucked into “stuff”. Life is too short! Now I’ll get off my soap box ;-)
Ellen from Mariposa
Another big Congratulations! to Dawn for winning the beautiful Quenn Z bronze #19!
Ellen from Mariposa
“QUEEN” Z! (Why is it I don’t notice the typo until I have hit “post”… :)

Wow Z, wasn’t that special! We saw Dawn Conrad holding her win of you in bronze.
Believe me, we all would have loved this moment. Sincerely, I just am hoping to come and see you in your paddock and give you a kiss!! (I will wear a sanitary mask if necessary-I don’t care) I do miss you so much, but hearing from you and seeing pictures is surely the next best thing. love with a kiss on your soft nose!

To Kennedys in SD/ Ensign – thanks for explaining what a sprinter horse is…I knew I could depend on you guys!

CONGRATULATIONS DAWN : ) : ) : )

Congrats Dawn. You are one lucky lady. Question: I am curious about the weight and meaasurements of the statue as it appears to be a lot larger than what I assumed it to be. Another lesson in assume. @ Terry Crow. The T.V. shows and film you mentioned were among my favorites as well. Got me thinking about the “good old days” when the content of Saturday morning television shows demonstrated family values as well as love & respect for our animal friends and neighbors.

Zenyatta, that is an absolutely beautiful bronze of you. I would be the happiest person alive if I had one. It would mean more to me than anything in the world. I would do almost anything for one. Congratulations to Dawn Conrad for winning the contest and winning the bronze. I am glad you guys are saving all of the postcards that everyone sent. I sincerely mean every little word that I wrote on mine. I really love you that much, Zenyatta.
Paul
Zenyatta, I would love more than anything in the world to join you at Lane’s End Farm and watch the scenery with you for hours at a time. I have no trouble doing that on my own, especially as I get along in years, but it would be more pleasant doing it with a horse or another animal that I love. Send my love to all of your buddies. You seem to get along great and I love that.
