Good Morning,
Today is such an inspirational day! It is the Professional Business Women of California Conference. Dottie has been working with Linda from this organization for months now. I have been asked to KICK-OFF the INSPIRE part of the conference. I wanted to share this news with my dear friend, Michael Cline. He is one I often discuss my various situations with at Lane’s End. He helps me out SO MUCH!
Ann, Dawn (my vet for years) and Dottie are all flying to San Francisco to attend and participate in the events. It is very exciting. They are going to introduce me and some of my accomplishments, play some video which will illustrate the highlights of my racing career and then have some additional speakers reviewing so many of my charitable efforts and professional achievements. This is such a FABULOUS DAY!
From what Dottie has told me, they have NEVER honored a horse at this level before this. I am so EXCITED. This is ABSOLUTELY TOO CUTE!
It is so wonderful to be considered in this light…as one who can INSPIRE! This means the world to ME! I have tried to do my best, work hard, and achieve at a high level…but often this is not enough.
You must always strive to do more. To be your VERY BEST, to do your VERY BEST, and achieve at the highest levels….takes great work and dedication. I am extremely proud that people realize I also needed to put forth a GREAT EFFORT, lots of hard TRAINING, and total DEDICATION to achieve my goals! I never gave up….I just kept working hard! It is great to be recognized for what one has achieved!
The Conference is totally SOLD OUT! There will be approximately 6000 people attending the 3 sessions that are being held today…with everyone returning to the main convention center for the INSPIRE portion. I KICK it off with the help of Carolyn Johnson from ABC San Francisco. Then Isabel Allende will speak. She is an international author. The final speaker will be America Ferraro who earned an Emmy for her role in Ugly Betty.
Connect, Explore, Inspire…these are the 3 topics for the Conference. It should be an amazing program and I am extremely grateful to be a part of the entire presentation.
In some way, I hope I can touch the hearts and souls of some of these people. I hope to ENCOURAGE THEM TO SEEK A NEW CHALLENGE and to BE THE BEST THEY CAN BE! DON’T EVER GIVE UP! My motto is to KEEP WORKING HARD, DO YOUR VERY BEST, AND NEVER LET THE THOUGHTS OF OTHERS INTERFERE WITH YOUR PROGRESS, ABILITY TO MEET YOUR GOALS, AND YOUR ABILITY TO HAVE A POSITIVE SELF-CONCEPT!
ALWAYS STRIVE TO MOVE FORWARD AND TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN WHATEVER YOU DO!
Hooves Crossed!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Way to Go ladies!! I just returned home after a blowout on the freeway..who showed up in a AAA tow truck but a female! Had to tow my LR3 to a safe location in order to change the tire..I was deadlocked in between rushing traffic on both sides. Great poem DJ and Jan- isn’t that Helen Reddy?

@ Judy Maass Gadwood–Thanks so much for the link! I know I will enjoy that!! Isn’t it amazing how green everything is in today’s precious photo of Zenny and Mike!! Wish I could just walk down the paths of Lanes End and hang over the fences and watch everyone!!
@ Sharon Call-You might want to get “Island Stallion” now and read it–I remember liking it a lot!! Suan in TN remembers it too! It’s so amazing how memories of the horses we have loved bring the feelings right back.
@ Karen Mitchell-Thanks so much!!
@ Susan in TN- Thanks so much for your kindness-it’s hard to believe how much that still affects me after 63 years. Seems like it was yesterday!! I like to believe that my horses will be at the Rainbow Bridge too!! I sure hope so. I want all the horses and dogs and cats and other critters I have loved to be there!! When my beloved George M. Red-dog (born on the 4th of July and named for George M. Cohan) died,I was telling him as he left that I wanted him to be the first thing I saw when I came over!!He was something else!! A mix of German Shepherd-Boxer-Chow and St. Bernard!! I was,as my best friend said, besotted with him!!I had him from the time he was seven weeks old until he was 9 and a half, when he had two strokes in 24 hrs. and the second took him.
@Dawn Conrad-Just a hello and wish for sweet dreams tonight and a great day tomorrow!!

Zenny, you are an inspiration !! @ Judy Maass- I’ve been watching this nest daily since the Norfolk mommy was killed. I’m sure glad we don’t have those chatroom rules!

Zenyatta YOU are an Inspiration to my students. I am going to read parts of the post to them tomorrow morning. They will listen because when it comes to you they seem to really understand. You and your Team of talented giving women deserve all the recognition that one should get. You my Queen are more than just any horse. You are one of a kind. I thank YOU Dottie, Ann and all of Team Z for all that they do for us. Hugs and Many Kisses, Shari XXXOOO

I just realized that you may be retired from the track, but you will never really be retired. You, with the help of your human family, are doing so much to inspire others. You continue to stay in touch with us in the outside world and that is so wonderful. I know everyone hopes to be able to visit you someday, but if not, this is the next best thing. You are a “therapy horse!”

Zenyatta will be the highlight of the convention, hands down. Can’t wait to see how it went Dottie. I know people will be enthralled. She is so gorgeous and magnificent, there isn’t a human woman on the planet that can compare (sorry ladies). Cute picture with Michael.
Robyn Mullhausen
Zenny, there is not a more inspiring 4-legged “person” on this earth than you! Now you’ll have thousand more fans when they see how amazing you and Team Z have been in such a short period of time.
You are absolutely TOO CUTE!! :)

Good Evening Queen “Z” they could not have selected a better figure such as yourself to INSPIRE thousands. You and your connections represent everything good. Hard work and determination always pays off. Strive to be the best you can and do the best you can. You have proven that to soooo many.
Congrats on being selected to kick off the Professional Business Women of California Conference.
Hugs and kisses

I so agree with everything you said. My father and mother taught me that the word “can’t” was not to be in my vocabulary. You keep putting one foot or hoove in front of the other and move forward to fulfill whatever destiny is yours.
Love you Zenyatta!

You are the epitome of inspiration! So appropriate that they picked you for this part of the conference and such an honor. After this conference you will probably have 100,000 facebook fans!! Congrats to Dottie, Dawn and Mrs. Moss also – they will represent you well. (thanks Dottie – such wonderful words)
Linda Clausen
Dear Zenyatta, You so deserve to be recognized for all of your hard work and achievements. I’m sure that Ann, Dawn and Dottie are so proud to represent you to these professional women, and you are truly an inspiration to all females to achieve at the highest level in their profession. Love you!
Celeste
Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing the lovely photo and the inspirational, encouraging words with us. Zenyatta you *are* an inspiration, so I can definitely see why you would be honored in this way. Thank you Dottie for continuing to help Zenyatta express all of this for us. Love to all of Team Z and our Queen!
dunie
You have been my inspiration for years, Zenny!

Good evening Zenyatta,
motivational speaker should also be on your resume, I totally agree with everything you said. Yes, often, or more so than not, the accolades for working hard, doing your very best, are pretty much left to your own sense of worth you see in your work. Doing your best is basically expected without much fanfare. So it is nice to see you’re being honored in such a way, and all the people who also worked just as hard to see you succeed on such a high level. :) :) :)
Well, dear girl, it’s time for 40 winks and dreams of mints.:) :) :)
Sue and Tony
Zenny, Ann and Dottie…once again we are amazed at the endless ways you go about making sure you are making a positive difference in a troubled world. There is a reason you are all bound together…it’s heaven sent, something so beautiful and rare. Rather than drift from our vision when you retired, Zenny, through Anne’s eyes and heart and Dottie’s wonderful transcribing YOU remain with us, urging us to constantly better ourselves just as you did race, after race, after race. It’s no wonder all of us are drawn to this site. We are uplifted and encouraged to be better people. For that we owe each of you a debt of gratitude. It’s a pleasure to join this community in celebration of life and goodness. Thank You all!

Zenyatta, I would like to write something original, but after reading all the comments I have to say that I agree with ALL of them!! You are quite simply, INSPIRING in every way.
And the way your Dottie so beautifully transcribes your messages is just TOO FABULOUS!!
Such an uplifting post!
Thank you and congratulations to all of Team Z!

You are an inspiration, Zenyatta! You always strive to make a difference, and your’e right, nothing comes easy. All horses are such good therapy; back when I groomed racehorses, I would go into the barn sad or upset, and those horses had a way to make me forget all about whatever it was making me sad or upset. But you… you are the best therapist I have ever seen. You do so much for everybody.. if you only knew just how special you truly are! God bless you, Zenyatta, you truly are a gift from God!!

INSPIRE is the best word to describe you, Zenny. You have inspired us all to reach for the stars and achieve our dreams. Personally, I have gone back to school after FAR too long. Just like you, I had a slow start but I plan to finish strong!
Irene Caty
Hi Zenny, my hoofs are always crossed for you. You are thr perfect example of Enspire and for all the reasons you have mentioned here. They were smart to choose you for this award even if you are a horse. You put so much mind and energy into your racing carear and the determination to win would enspire anyone. The grace you employed with each race you won and behind all that was that determination and with each win you showed love and thanks to all your fans along with a winners dance to show your gradatude. Oh my goodness what a real Queen of the racing world you were and also enjoyed the figure Racing Royalty along with Secretariat. You did it all and you keep on doing. Congradulations Zenytta with all of your accomplicements and for being such a loveing horse to all your fans. I will follow your every move and who knows where it will all go. I love you and always will. Go get em!

Zen, you’re such an inspiration. I’m not surprised that you were chosen to kick-off the INSPIRE portion of the women’s conference.

Love you Zenny. You are inspiration in the best of ways.

What I find so inspirational is the fact that one horse, and her Team, CAN inspire people. We saw (and still see) how all of Team Z showed people what can be accomplished with hard work, dedication, pride, and most of all, a heart. An award well deserved, Miss Z!

Congrats, you deserve it!!!
