Sweet Z! Ann and you, to me a very touching moment. It is Love. I am tickled that you had so much fun with all that visited. Whatever you want and Ann would like for you as far as a foal, my heart will be filled with so much joy for you all. I guess after all, who would not want to produce a likeness of you Z!! Your greatness and gentleness needs to continue. You do it at your time, and when I do hear the news –Wow!! Then there should be a drink created in your name, like the special drink at the Breeders Cup, or the Mint Julip at the Derby!! How about “Z’s kiss”, or “Special Momma Bay”. (Add Guiness, oats, and a couple extra ingredients) hee Just having fun! love with a kiss on your soft nose!

A Mother’s Prayer (or Grandmothers)
Dear Lord, It’s such a hectic day, with little time to stop and pray. For Life’s been anything but calm since you called me to be a Mom. Running errands, matching socks, building dreams with building blocks. Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes, and other things children lose. Fitting lids on bottled bugs, wiping tears and giving hugs. A stack of last weeks mail to read, So where’s the quiet time I need? Yet when I steal a minute Lord, just at the sink or ironing board..To ask the blessings of Your grace, I see then, in my small one’s face, that You have blessed me all the while and I stoop to kiss that precious smile.
DJ
Couldn’t help but think of this, when you stooped to kiss “Z”‘s precious face!

Happy Mother’s Day, Zenyatta! I know that you’re not a mother yet, but you will be one day. I would get you a Mother’s Day card and a Mother’s Day present if I could. I would also treat you to a Mother’s Day dinner if I could.

Good night, precious Z. You and all your team and all of US are so lucky to be so connected. Love you always.
WILD HORSES
I think the use of lasix and other accepted race day medications given to horses, although useful, are actually weakening the gene pool and ultimately producing a weaker breed. If a horse that has a tendency to bleed badly and not perform well because of it is given lasix and wins, that same horse is putting that trait into the gene pool in the breeding shed and passes it on to future generations. They have gotten along very well without these drugs overseas, I’m hoping we can trend towards that in the future here in the US. I recently heard that alot of the European trainers and owners are boycotting running their horses in North America until we adopt similar race day medication policies. It would be such a shame if Goldikova didn’t come for the BC Mile this year. The race day medication issue recently landed at the Federal level. I for one don’t want the Federal Govt deciding on racing issues. We, as an industry, need to take the lead and handle these issues appropriately on our own or these decisins will land in someone else’s lap. Lori
