Good Morning,
HAPPY KENTUCKY OAKS DAY! What a special day! In our camp, we are CHEERING ON ZAZU! Look…even the fans LOVE Z’s! They are putting the initial Z on their front door! John just had to take this photo when he saw it!
ZAZU is in Post 6 in a field that is carded with a total of 13 horses. She will be right in the middle of the field when standing in the gate. With her running style, which is a bit like mine coming from off the pace, this is a very good post. Her jockey, Joel Rosario, knows her well and will hopefully get her in the perfect position at the start, let her drop back just enough and then finish strong. (Sounds GREAT to ME!)
We will all be wearing some PINK today as well. Churchill Downs has the fundraising for cancer awareness on Oaks Day! What a great, great idea to help with cancer research.
Zazu’s jockey will also be wearing pink…as OUR SILKS are pink and green!
LET’S GO ZAZU! You know I will be cheering you on!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Hope all is well.
I need to thank a few people and unfortunately I didn’t write any names down. Sorry about that.
For the several people that mentioned Thoroughbred I thank you. I didn’t see this. However, way back in the early 2000’s there was a show on Animal Planet by the same name. They featured Bonita Farms. I will look into getting this new video.
About Cas Ole–talk about stunning. Cas was almost as good looking as Secretariat, not quite but oh was he close.
Hmmm, sitting here watching the Derby run up stuff and thinking about Z. Z we know is pretty as the week is long and Bernie–I have to confess that I didn’t care for him in 2006. But Z’s poppa is the very handsome Street Cry. I suspect that when you do foal it’ll be pretty outstanding.
JFI–horses gestate about 330-360 days. I’ve read one vet who had a client that swore his mare delivered in 310-320 days. And going back to Bonita Farms for a moment–they had a mare that carried twins (although one passed in hydro)and went 13 1/2 months. Basically you have to consider that Z will carry a foal for 11 WHOLE months or 44-47 weeks (more or less).

Hydro–I’m sending this through my iPad. It changed utero to hero. Don’t ask me–I usually am on Windows.

@Robin S-First Saturday in May is indeed a great film, maybe it should be categorized as a documentary. I am only sorry that the Hennegan brothers did not do another one after 2006.

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, It’s Derby Day! YEAH!!!! it is so fabulously beautiful today in Alabama. I pray the sun is shining & you are soaking up some rays with your friends. I hope you have had a wonderful weekend with your family. Did they get you that TV :)so you & the gal pals can watch The Derby? I hope so. I would love to see a photo of you watching The Derby!:) Zennyatta, I am so worried about Uncle Mo. All of his symptoms stated are just the same as the filly, Devil May Come, that passed last week. I think that’s her name. It’s Devil May ?. I pray it’s not cancer. The Devil May Come had been sick for a year fighting infection and then she had trouble eating and her coat looked bad too. Then they figured out she had cancer that they couldn’t treat. It was just so sad to see such a young shining star have her life could short. I pray the Vets can figure out what’s wrong with Uncle Mo. Uncle Mo has such a great career ahead if he can recover from whatever he has. Uncle Mo just needs the right treatment for whatever he has wrong. Hooves crossed for him!
I’ve watched some great races today waiting on The Derby. Katskill Bay won by 8 lengths, Prince of Speed raced great, Back Door Kenny & Sassy Imagine did great too! I just had to mention these because they looked so good! I just look at the all the horses & appreciate what they are capable of doing. It’s only one you, Zenyatta so we have to settle for 2nd best since you retired! I heard there could be some rain. I hope the rain holds off to after The Derby! It’s so nerve racking to watch these beauties race in the rain. To all the magnificent TB & their Jockey run a fast & safe race from start to finish.
Zenyatta, I want you to know that as long as you are happy, healthy & loving life that’s all that really matters. You have given so much of your life to enrich our lives through racing and now sharing your heart through so many avenues. I have been so Blessed by YOU, that I will love you till the stars fall from heaven. I’m glad The Mosses & Shirreffs are protecting you & your personal life. Your Fans just love you so much and want to know but please don’t let the pressure about having a baby get to you. My heart is with you & your family on this matter & I wish only the best for you. Well, I have to get back to racing. Will not be long to The Run For The Roses! Sending Hugs & Kisses From Alabama With Love, Amanda G
To all the fans I didn’t have time to read the comments before I posted but I will, I love to read them & Thank You for your info.
