Good Morning,
HAPPY KENTUCKY OAKS DAY! What a special day! In our camp, we are CHEERING ON ZAZU! Look…even the fans LOVE Z’s! They are putting the initial Z on their front door! John just had to take this photo when he saw it!
ZAZU is in Post 6 in a field that is carded with a total of 13 horses. She will be right in the middle of the field when standing in the gate. With her running style, which is a bit like mine coming from off the pace, this is a very good post. Her jockey, Joel Rosario, knows her well and will hopefully get her in the perfect position at the start, let her drop back just enough and then finish strong. (Sounds GREAT to ME!)
We will all be wearing some PINK today as well. Churchill Downs has the fundraising for cancer awareness on Oaks Day! What a great, great idea to help with cancer research.
Zazu’s jockey will also be wearing pink…as OUR SILKS are pink and green!
LET’S GO ZAZU! You know I will be cheering you on!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Zenny my Queen ~ I saw ZAZU run at Santa Anita ~ it was rather strange to see those silks on a gray horse ;-) but we cheered for her as if it were you…
I always start with a Z and end with an A :-)

Best of luck to all the “girls”! Eight Belles is going to run along side JOYFUL VICORY because she is her Guardian Angel… I hope Joyful hears the tinkle of bells…. XO

@ Trina Nagele: Thank you for the fun comment. Just this past weekend I found myself yelling “Arch Arch Arch” as he sipped past me, jumped off the back porch and onto the golf course running at full speed and abandonment and with a smile on his face! Really, I kid you not, the naughty dog was smiling. I turned to Macho the cat and said “you’re a Mucho Macho Man, go get him”.

Does it work?

Yes, I am finally back in business Zenyatta. I not only am able to read your dairy I am once again able to post. For days, I haven’t been able to post here and it became a big frustration. Anyway, it won’t be but about a half hr and Zazu will be running in the Kentucky Oaks and will be rooting for her to win, she is such a beautiful filly, wishing the best for her. Hope you are having visitors since your family is in town, bet you will be glad to see them and they you. Thinking of you lots Zenyatta, things have been really difficult for me lately, and looking at all the pics I have of you, helps me to get through it all-you are an inspiration! Hi Queen Z,
I attended a Derby lunch at work today, the idea was to make fancy hats. I wore my purple Zenyatta cap, my Zenyatta baseball shirt, and carried my GIRL POWER sign. I awarded ME first place. You are loved!

@Denise and @Amber. According to DRF, Z has been bred back to Bernardini and everyone is awaiting word on the status. I think they’re waiting for that 45 day ultrasound to make sure she’s safely in foal before releasing any word.

@ All Triple crown watchers,(and of course Zenny,)
I am very upset about Uncle Mo. Incase anyone didn’t know,
He had a lung infection so they scratched him, I was hoping he would place, he is a very good horse and I will miss him being in the triple crown, However, if he gets healed, his owners could always enter himin the dubai World Cup, witch is very BIG and has no age limit.
For those whom do not know who to pull for, here is my list of favorite’s from; First favorite to fifth favorite. (there are 20 racing this year) Favorites:
‘Dialed In’ (Jockey Julian Leparoux,) Odds, 5-1 (last time I checked.)
‘Midnight Interlude’ Odds 25-1,
‘Twice The Appeal’ (jockey Calvin Borel,(my personal Favorite Jock))
and last but not least: ArchArchArch.
Thats All! Hope it was helpfull,
Hannah

Zazu did good for third considering she did not get an easy trip.
Marion
I think Zazu did great today…she ran against 12 ohter very good horses and came in 3rd…that is very good and all of them came home sound and safe….well done.
Love you Zenny
Cynthia H.
Congratulations on a very gallant 3rd place finish in the Oaks, Zazu! I don’t think you really felt comfortable throughout the race, and endured some rough moments. You never gave up. We are so proud of you, angel face!
@Trina Nagele: thank you so much for your kind words.
@susan in tn: thank you very much for taking the time to comment.
Debbie G
Hello my sweet Zenny. So sorry Zazu didn’t win today, but she did run a good race. Who do you like in the Derby? I think it would be cool to have a female jockey win for the first time, so I’m cheering for Pants on Fire. I love you, Zenny :-)
Debi Hamari
Beautiful Queen Zenyatta.
Positive thoughts and prayers for Zazu and all the horses running today were answered! A good race and all came home safe and sound. Thank You, Lord!
Love and hugs!
Sue Noel
@suan in tn-I loved those books too!! I had not heard of “Snowfire”,the TV show–bet I would have loved it!!
I thought they did a great job with The Black Stallion, but, nothing could come up to the image I had in my own imagination!

@Hannah: Thank you for the information about Uncle Mo. I was worried until I read your post. From what I read they said none of the Vets knew what was wrong with him. He wasn’t eating well and loosing weight. I hope you are correct that he has Lung Infection. Where can I read more about his condition please? Thanks!
Hello Zeny – give our congratulations to Zazu for getting Third Place. Hugs, Marilu
Cindy from LA
@Hannah JH
Where did you see Mo had a lung infection. His GI
Infection did not clear probably because they kept
Training him. Stress from training can cause infections
To worsen or not get better. He lost some weight, is not
Eating well and fatigued. He needs a rest. Perhaps breeders
Cup classic. He is a very talented colt.
Sweet Dreams Zenny!!!!! Great going Zazu. You made
Up a lot of ground like your mentor Zenny!!!!
