Good Morning All,
I am just getting ready to leave Barn 55 at Hollywood Park and go to the plane. I can’t thank everyone enough for the kindness, generosity and love you have all shown me during my racing career.
We have had a terrific ride together…20 fabulous races over a 3 1/2 year span. I have been able to travel and visit with so many wonderful people. I have made so many wonderful friends.
Last night I spent some time just thinking about how GREAT it has been. I looked outside and saw the wonderful area I have grazed on for years. I have shared it with so many loving friends: After Market, Life is Sweet, Tiago, Giacomo, Zardana and Harmonious to name a few. It has been a blast!
Yesterday’s ceremony at Hollywood Park was so special. So many of my dear fans came to greet me. I had fun looking at everyone in the paddock, up on the stairs, and in the balcony. Then walking to the track for the last time…was a bit emotional…for me. I knew I wasn’t running…as all of my normal pre-race stuff was not happening…and my dear Mario…was not wearing a NUMBER. (That was a big clue.) I paraded and went to the Winners’ Circle…even did an encore for my 2 presentations from the Dodgers and the San Pedro Winners’ League. It was special!
John is looking at me now. It is time to bundle up (I’m going to heavy coat weather….good thing I have a great wardrobe)…and get on the van.
My 2 dear friends are in the picture in this post…Dottie and Sophie enjoying the night on my ‘grazing grass’.
I will miss everyone…HUGS, HUGS, HUGS!
Again…THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU…for EVERYTHING!
I will keep in touch! I would not miss visiting with all of you for anything.
Blessings to all!
With love,
Hugs~

I was also at Hollywood Park yesterday for the beautiful, moving all-day tribute to the greatest race mare of all time. Zenyatta, you were so beautiful and majestic; Mario, who led her so proudly before & after races, had a whole different expression … how tough to hide such strong emotions. The whole place was electric with the Power of Love. I hope to make it to Kentucky next year some time and see you again, running free (but maybe looking for some treats at the fenceline). Thank you so much to everyone!

I followed your flight from CA to KY by the link that someone earlier in the day had sent. It was wonderful watching you travel safely across the country but sad knowing the weather was very cold for your arrival. Looks like you will have a little better weather as the week goes on and you move into your new barn. Take care and look forward to your diary tomorrow as you wake up in your new environment
Hugs and more hugs

Farewell, Queen Z…

The fans braved the cold in Kentucky to welcome the big mare while she strutted her stuff for them. She was presented with a gift basket of carrots, peppermints & Guinness beer!

Thank you for your beauty, grace, and love that you and your family shared so openly with your many admirers. I hope that we’ll get updates often on your daily activities. So glad to hear that you’ve landed safely.I hope you and your California family who travelled with you have lots of warm clothes. Does anyone know where or when Zenyatta’s arrival in Kentucky or her appearance at Keeneland will be on video?
Carole
Simply stated, Zenyatta is a living legend!

Ms Zenyatta, where are you? Your flight was delayed and have had no word if you have landed yet or not. I check and the report is that you were delayed in Ontario, but that post is old now. God, keep her safe. I love you. Lisa g

To Marilyn-I read somewhere that all future correspondence will be wither through Lane’s End or what is posted on Zenyatta’s website. Hope this helps. I think I also read that the Mosses stated yesterday that they were still working things out with the Farish’s about visiting dates, sending gifts etc & we could find that on the website in the future.
Lisa g
Ms Zenyatta, so glad you are there and the beautiful people of Kentucky are giving you a Queen’s welcome. Stay warm, sweet lady. I love you, Lisa g

Dear Zenyatta – I attended your farewell last year at HP and then again yesterday, the BIG farewell…and it’s still hard to believe that right now your are tucked in at Lane’s End. You looked spectacular yesterday and it was amazing to experience the electricity, joy, passion and love that filled the paddock and the track. Thanks for giving us one last dance in the winner’s circle! I must admit when “Thanks for the Memories” came on the loud speaker and watching you walk away with Mario down the track until you disappeared left me with a great emotional jolt. I know you are about to begin a wonderful new chapter of your life and we are all very blessed to have had you in our lives for the past four years. I look forward to visiting you next year and thankful that you will be continuing your posts to all of us, your ever loving and devoted fans! And, Zenyatta, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES…you are a horse of a lifetime!!

Just saw you, Dottie, and John @ Keeneland (www.thederbydream.com). So very glad you and everyone made it safely! We love you and miss you so much already! Wonderful choice of song to play at Hollywood Park yesterday as you, Mario, Frank, Cody, and Steve escorted your Highness back to the barn: “Thanks for the Memories…” Looking forward to so many more! Stay warm!!

Zennatta I am glad you made it safely. I thought about you all day. Mentioned to my class that you were going to Kentucky. I wish I could have seen you but I had to work. You are closer to me now since I live in Ohio. I am hoping and praying to make it to see you over Easter break. Christmas time is hard since my school gets out late and my parents are sick. But thoughts of you and your beauty give me hope for the spring. Stay warm my sweet sweet girl. Team Z thank you ALL again for sharing her with us. I love you all. God Bless, Shari

Hi Zen I just got my commemorative collectors issue and that beautiful picture of you I just love it I also have the picture of you winning the BC last year. I have bought some really neat frames for them and will be hanging them in my living room so all my friends can see what a beautiful horse you are.I am going to miss you so much as I have not missed a race of yours in 2 1/2 yrs. You are such a wonderful horse. I feel so bad for your barn crew because I worked the tack in my younger days and I know how bad it hurts to see a horse you have really fallen in love with walk out that barn, most of all you worry how the new help will treat them. Love you Zen .
donna
Z you have given racing the ride of a lifetime. You took our breath away every time you ran. My bet is that they are planning on A.P Indy as your first breeding. The eNick was off the chart for a Z/A.P.Indy breeding. Enjoy the rest of your life.

Queen Zenyatta and family, thank you for making racing fun again. I just don’t know what we are going to do without you. I wish we could just rewind the past three and half years.
You are a most special gift to your fans. Please remember we need to see you whenever it is possible.
Love to you, Queen Z, the horse of the century!

Queen Z, thank you for the memories. I will never be able to re-create the joy I felt every time I saw you race; there will never be another like you! And thank you to your owners, trainer and the whole Team Zenyatta for reminding me that there are people in this industry who care, value their fans and put the welfare of their horses first.
Enjoy Lanes End- it is a beautiful place, and I hope to see you there one day!

DEAREST ZENYATTA, YEARS AGO I HAD A QUARTER HORSE, SHE MENT THE WORLD TO ME,I HAD HER ALL HER LIFE. THEN TEN YEARS AGO I LOST HER AND I HAVE MISSED HER EVERY DAY SINCE. WHEN YOU CAME ALONG I WENT TO EVERY RACE I COULD. ONE RACE AT DEL MAR YOU STOPPED RINGT IN FRONT OF ME AND I YELLED “ZENYATTA” AND YOU LOOKED ME RIGHT IN THE EYE, I YELLED OUT “I LOVE YOU”. THAT SECOND MADE MY HEART MELT, IT MADE MY TRIP EVEN MORE MAGICAL. THANK YOU FOR BEING ANOTHER SPECIAL HORSE IN MY HEART. THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT. I LOVE ALL OF YOU.
ALWAYS A FRIEND. “I LOVE YOU”

God speed Zenyatta. I will look forward to more posts from you in the future. You have shown everyone what is it to be a true Hero and example of what EVERY athlete should be. We humans have learned a lot from you and your team and have only tried to give back as much love as you’ve given us.
